She said the signal was being broadcast by the others - when he pointed out that her batteries weren't big enough to be the ones broadcasting for 16 years. I don't think she killed them. If she did, she must have forgotten about it because she definitely thought Sayid was one of them and that the 'others' were responsible for Alex being missing. Yeah - all the stuff she said points to her never "seeing" the others. Yet you're right about what she said about the signal, so there must somehow actually be "others", right? Or something. Lola

Yeah - it had some good stuff but also more stuff that was really telegraphed. Totally could see it coming (cue swelling music . . . now!) But the ending of each of the stories was definitely exciting and unpredictable. Sayid letting the woman get away from the prison and shooting his friend and himself. The whispers in the jungle and the look on his face. And I liked the contrast between the others relaxing somewhat and not having a clue of what was going on with Sayid and what might be heading their way. Lola all very good points Lola. And this is the first ep I've not been totally engrossed by and still it was good, so I'm not grumbling.

Also, we only have her word that her husband was "sick" when she shot him. and that the rest were too when she shot them. But either we have a very crazy murderous lady in the jungle, or we have some mystery still...I vote for mystery! *smile*

I liked the Hurley Charlie lines too! 'Get away from me dude'' question - Kate said 'from one outcast to another' to Sawyer. What did she mean? Was that a clue to her past, because she's certainly not an outcast among the survivors. I think it has to be about her past, maybe even her crime. Plus, that was good advice she gave him - gotta start making more of an effort. I was so glad to see that he took the advice, too! And then she did the little joke about taking his action to kind of smooth his path into sort of joining the group. Oh, yeah, our Kate likes Sawyer! Lola

So one of the others must have hit him. The cable he followed from the beach looked like a transoceanic phone cable. Maybe the others layed the cable and rescued Alex. In Danielle's mind that rescue was have been "stealing" him away. Or maybe the others are living wild on the island and don't want anyone else coming there (like they would if the airplane folks got a message off and a rescue party came) to wreck things. Or the others didn't want the plane peope to find French lady. Either didn't want them to help her or didn't want her to have a chance to try to kill them like she killed Robert and so on? Lola

and that the rest were too when she shot them. But either we have a very crazy murderous lady in the jungle, or we have some mystery still...I vote for mystery! *smile* Well, it seems weird that she'd be able to kill them all without any of them (assuming there were enough to overpower her) doing something to her in return. Of course, who knows, she's had 16+ years to recover if they did manage to wound her while she killed them. My point was, if they WERE sick, it'd explain why she was able to kill them all. Also, why would the 'others' broadcast that signal for so long... Are they trying to trap others into coming to the island by sending out a signal that they are sure to come check out? Or, is there more to it?

so you think there might be phone service as well as electricity on the island? They have the golf course, they could open a resort! **snicker** We were wrong - it's not the Island of Dr Moreau, it's Fantasy Island! Lola

Okay, I played it back... yeah... I heard the whisperies...I missed them the first time.. thought they were the wind. To be fair, I was obsessing because of the fact I forgot a Pacer game was on tonight and had missed all of it but hte last 8 minutes.

Also, we only have her word that her husband was "sick" when she shot him. Very true! Makes me wonder what supposed kind of "sick" it was. What kind of "sick" would mean you had to kill him? Lola
