Okay, Locke is wigging me out severely.
And what you want to bet that that combo won't work?
And hee! on "hell, that's like getting Ghandi to beat his kids"
Does anyone else thing this is a VERY BAD IDEA?

Freaky shot of the Virgin Mary's.
What is Locke's problem?
"Well, there are a lot of cliffs on this island, John."

Charlie and Sawyer. Interesting.
Question of possessions.
What is Sawyer's problem?

Sawyer episode... Cool! Shoulda known from the title. Heh.. Different woman, same con. AWESOME!!! She pegged him with brick! And now she wants to be a student... Huh. Painkiller addiction? "Feather my hair" Oh! he lost his glasses! poor Sawyer-woobie! Heh.. "Now there's a sensitive man" How the hell does Sawyer know about the lil army? SAYID!!! Cultural ref lost.. "Norwegian" "Nigerian" Sayid is deep in the survivor's guilt, Hurley. Good of you to try. And hee! Better of you to leave the radio behind. I don't think he GAVE it up. you were NOT kidding. Jack just got on the outs with Ana-Lucia, too. Puppy! Sudden rainstorm. And sudden bagstorm. Cute Sawyer/Kate moment. And she can tell Sun's voice from a scream? Sawyer is SO much a good guy, even if he doesn't want anyone to know. "half a klick from here" this says something about Sawyer's life: the only Americans that THINK in those terms, particularly in danger situations, are military: he'd have said "a couple hundred yards" or "a quarter mile" otherwise.

Sawyer lost his glasses on the raft.
Cosmo Quiz!
Not everyone in on the army plan?
Bernard's a dentist.
What is Sayid's problem?
Can't talk anyone into joining the army?
Sun is wearing light beige pants and a white top to work in the garden. Oookay.
Vincent appearing just before the attack on Sun, suspicious? Warning sign?

Okay, Locke is starting to seriously piss me off--although I'm not quite sure why.

"It looks like they broke her promise"
Locke has a point on that: so go in teams of two or three instead.
Heh. Sawyer smells a rat.
"hot oil death match"
Huh. Sawyer is very detail-oriented...
"all in the details"
"dimples"
"Everybody's scared: and the thing they're scared of the most is missing an opportunity"
NICE!
Go on, dimples... don't queer the pitch.
I think Locke did it, to sow distrust and tension.

Love the framing of the powwow on the beach.
Interesting interpersonal dynamics.
I'm thinking Locke did it. That means he probably didn't.
Kate suspecting Ana-Lucia because she's a rival for Jack's attentions/affections?

Five blades. Plus an extra on the back. Is the Gillette 72 far behind? Ah, the scott/steve joke. And the suspicion has passed on to Jack, too. Gotta be some trust SOMEWHERE. Vincent wasn't barking because he knew the person doing the attacking. He knows that word pretty well. "Find that horse of yours" Locke KNOWS that they are coming... Flash-Sawyer doesn't have the same ring as "flashjack" Heh.. she lied to him. I LIKE this woman!!! Oh crap..the long con is already going on. But has he been conning her, or has she been conning him? "Alphabetizing" "James"? "Cause it will piss Jack off" Oh, great. Guns going on walkabout. Sawyer's getting set up by Locke....

Sawyer as the town crier.
Locke vs Ana-Lucia.
An island where you sit on the beach and drink mohitos. Well, 2 out of 3, minus the girl.
Tokyo Rose. Term for female broadcasters on Japanese radio during WWII.
Sawyer's playing everyone?
Do the dance of paranoia!
What does Locke know that no one else does?

The long con... getting someone to do what you want them to do while they think all along it was there idea. So the question is: who's running the long con here? Ana Lucia, to get folks to join the army and to get the guns in the open? Locke, to establish himself as the voice of reason and solidify his leadership position among the survivors? The Dharma Initiative, moving the survivors around like so many chess pieces? Or did the Others actually kidnap Sun and let her go specifically to sow dissension among the castaways?
Hmm...

OK - I think Jack & Ana did the Sun thing TOGETHER.
Just like Sawyer and his girlfriend conned the rich boys. Jack's in the "one that looks trustworthy so we'll follow him" role. Ana is in the "looks suspicious, but gee, that nice person that looks trustworthy is going along" role.

I think I might put Locke in Jack's role--I have a hard time seeing Jack doing anything that might cause physical injury to an innocent person.
