Can I say how much I dislike Cameron, as a blonde. It looks soooo fake and really washes her out. Blech.

Mmmmmmmm fun, feisty and wonderfully slashtastic House/Wilson snarky domesticity.
Mmmmmmmm tasty tasty sex-ay Cuddy and angsty/sweet House/Cuddy what-might-have-been-age.
Mmmmmmmm pretty detective man and sweet/lovely Cuddy/detective man playing with child scenes.
Nice ep! And the case was interesting too – I liked the fangirls and their innocent enjoyment of their idol. How they were hiding their adorable geekiness from their classmates, pretending to be all sexed up hang-with-the-band types.
House in his “it didn’t specify 1880 or 1980” outfit was totally rockin’. ;D
House drugging Wilson (showing once again that, even though he is working on his addiction issues and linked behavior, he is still, you know, House) in order to save him from himself. Interesting to see House being the guy advising caution and non-sabotage of one’s career.
Also? Nice comparison / contrast we get between Wilson and Chase and their different “caused a patient’s death” examples.

I liked the ep. I don't know why it took me six days to get around to watching it. Was this the first episode that confirmed House and Cuddy had once slept together? But of course, can't put the two together, so instead Cuddy is dating House's doppelganger. The actor's name is Michael Weston, and that always throws me when I see his name appear in the credits, because I expect Burn Notice' Michael Weston. When shows collide!

So glad to see Taub and even 13 back again, loved the bit where they both realized the right answer at basically the same time. It was funny to see them continually drawn back to the case. House may be annoying, but he's right that they both wanted and loved the challenge and the diagnosing. If they didn't? He wouldn't have gotten to them. And I can never not love detective guy.

I think it reflects how much more House values Wilson as a doctor than he values himself. I found it fascinating that this week, House managed to break up every couple except the one he really wants broken up.

Whoa! Chase clocked him! I loved the looks on everyone's faces.
"I don't have anyone else to ask." "It's lonely. Isn't it?" "It's not that bad." "And you're not that smart."
Mirror, mirror . . .

Ah, such gifts to the House/Wilson fen this ep is giving us! House singing George Michael? Awesome! "He's a self-important jerk!" "Seems to be what I'm attracted to." ;D Awesome! "OK! Maybe I paid the redhead down at records fifty bucks to cc me on all your cases. Few patients die, you might get sad again. Make a speech that'll end your career. Frankly, I'm stalking you for you." Awe-some! I'm enjoying the Wilson-ness of this ep. It's nice to see more of his daily work-life. Also? Man, Wilson and House and Cuddy are so disfunctionally emeshed! Liek whoa!

"Because if you die, I'm alone." Whoa!! And then House shows up anyway. **gets all mushy** "The person you want when you're dying, isn't the same as the person you want when you're living." Oh, the look on Wilson's face!!! "Actually. It's James." OMG, I love all the layers we're getting in this ep! "She hurt my friend. She should be punished." "I'm changing our address to a P.O. box." **swoons from the giddy**

I knew House would show up for the surgery, I told Paul he would, and I was right. Hah! And I have to admit, there was some small squeeage over the " our address". ;D Now all they need is a bull-pup (although there's some controversy over its existence in canon). I think this season we're seeing how House changes everyone around him. Poor Chase is just broken. On the other hand, Wilson is learning to stand up for himself, which is good - he's gaining strength from House. As long as it doesn't go too far. I don't know if this makes any sense, it's way too early in the morning. But it was a good episode, anyway.

Complete with an interesting story going on with the "major" characters that we'll never get to see all of. Dave observed that House and Wilson are two halves of one complete person, and they're slowly gaining the missing parts by being around one another. Wilson's gaining some spine and necessary assholishness, and House is actually becoming a better person.

About the sparkage between Cuddy and the PI - I'm not sure what Cuddy is consciously looking for is sparkage. I think maybe she believes that somebody who's stable and reliable is better for her and Joy than somebody she's got a lot of chemistry with. Offline, many of the people I know who watch House have been disappointed by this season so far. Personally I've been really enjoying it. I like the way they've been showing us more of the layers of complexity in many of the characters.

Sooo...as a new mom, and an academic, I have GOT to comment on this week's House. For a start, it was so very reassuring to see someone else getting up an hour earlier than the baby just so they could get some "me" time - exercise, shower, etc. And then to see the baby wake up early and wreck it all. Even in fiction, it's comforting to know you aren't alone. Oh, and very comforting to see her put the baby in the shower and let her cry for a few minutes. But the thing that struck me most was the placement of the word "bitch" throughout the episode, to describe Cuddy. It bugged the crap out of me the first time, but then I realized it was a commentary on what people tend to think of a successful, driven woman who acts...well, in a way a man wouldn't think twice about. And by the episode, it was clearly meant as a compliment from the last man who used it. Speaking as a proud member of the bitch club myself, I was pleased to see the episode explore that theme with some degree of subtlety. We see her hard side, her "bitch" side, if we insist on calling it that, but we also see what it costs her to fire someone she likes...how much she loves her daughter...how hard she's trying to make her relationship work...how patient she is with nearly everyone in her life. Oh, and this is part of why I love House (the character) - he loves Cuddy not in SPITE of her being a "bitch", but because of it. In part. As does my own wonderful husband.
