It's an easy mistake, since Fox seems to do more than its share of stoopid broadcasting stuff. CBS is also airing Flashpoint out of order; I think there's epidemic stoopid lately. Julia, this is especially annoying when there's character development subtext or text, as is the case in Leverage and Flashpoint. I didn't realize that about Flashpoint, and they've got some interesting character development going on. I normally don't rewatch procedurals like this, but I guess I will have to rewatch both just to see what I've been missing.

And Jonathan Frakes was the guy in the waiting room! Hee! I can't believe I missed that. Yes, the out of orderness is starting to bug me because that episode was clearly out of place. Why do they do things like that? So dumb. I spotted that immediately and had to point it out to my hubby. He directed one of my favorite Star Trek movies!

Doctor Who jokes? I'm going to have to watch this one over, just to catch all the flybys. Not to mention Hardison's Hot Pocket... The hot pocket moment was perfect. ;D

Hardison is Horde! Julia, OMG OMG OMG, when he and the office woman bonded over it? Too perfect! And then he's trying to hide it from the team? Heeee! ;D

My LJ post: Could I be anymore in love with Hardison? What a great character. I need to call my mama - bwah! Aldis Hodge is owning me. Owning me. Parker playing stewardess was also a hoot. I loved all the rules and the you're going to die comments. Hee. I love love love how she is just totally incapable of playing someone else in their scams. They keep making her interact with people and she's always just Parker. ;D Always with the blunt tactlessness and eye rolling. ;D It's not the most enthralling part of the show for me, although I don't mind it. The recent ep with his further spiral into drinking was very interesting to me however. Hardison at the office was a tour de force of awesomeness. ;D

There were Doctor Who references? I missed them. The fake IDs - "I got Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy, Tom Baker...". Eliot was Air Marshall Tom Baker. Heh. Heeee! I loved that! So nicely slipped in there.

We watched this last episode over again last night, and caught even more little nifty nuances - the caper-movie-style music, for example. The show is set in contemporary 21st century LA, but the ambiance is more Mission Impossible and/or A-Team (and they are fully aware of the joke, as witness Hardison's "I love it when a plan comes together"). Other nice little bits - the cut from Parker's explosive device counting down to zero to Hardison's microwave and Hot Pocket. This was really Hardison's episode - he got to go out in the field and save the day. But they were all still pissed off at him at the end, and rightly so. Loved Hardison getting to save the day. And loved Timothy H just telling him "I know you can do this". It's got some neat tricksy little gems hidden in it, doesn't it.

And, being a big fan of Nero Wolfe, I hope Hutton gets a chance to play an "Archie Goodwin"-type in one of the scams. He really nailed that role for me. I wouldn't be surprised if they do something like that. They've been having quite a bit of fun with little in-jokes and asides like that. ;D

This was another fine episode. I thought there was a good balance between the comic caper adventure and the angst; they're very good at not hitting the viewer over the head with the message (ie, Nate is an alcoholic). It occurred to me that once the writers have established a character trait, they assume we'll remember it; for example, that Sophie can only act when she's running a con. That was set up early, but they don't feel the need to keep reminding us. I like being treated like an intelligent person. I need to go back and rewatch, but I'm pretty sure Parker's fake ID at the rehab clinic was Rose Tyler. Silly, silly people... ;D I also thought that the ending was interesting - Jack Hurley did the right thing, but he didn't "get the girl" (he didn't deserve to, but some shows would've gone that route anyway), and Nate still won't admit he needs help for his drinking. I expect that to be addressed at some point in the future, maybe even Next! Season!!! . Timothy Hutton with his hair all rumpled and the top two buttons of his shirt opened... Why yes, I am shallow and superficial. I am so enjoying this show - there are grownup people on it and writing it.

Oh, the Eliott/Hardison 'shippers must have had a frikkin' field day over last night's ep. And how cute was Parker? Soooo cute, workin' through her issues, takin' her antidepressants . . . . . ;D

I loved Elliot and Hardison working together. And I think that this is the first time we've seen Eliot angry. He usually does the cool and collected bad ass thing.
