*sigh* Emily's doctor thinks she might have reflux. She's been out of sorts for almost a week, just not herself, crying when she's eating, not sleeping at all in the day and only for two hours at a time at night. This in a baby who's been extraordinarily happy, and who had been sleeping five-six hours at night without waking. One night this week she woke every hour on the hour, crying. She also will just cry at random intervals during the day - never for long, but always like she's in pain. Teething is possible, but unlikely in a two-month-old (though baby Tylenol does seem to provide some relief for her). She could have a low-grade ear infection (she has no fever, though). Reflux is the usual diagnosis if a baby cries while eating and those others aren't the problem. So we're off to the doctor. Again. Please keep us posted about this. Certain food allergies can cause similar symptoms, as can eosinophilic issues.

This has to be new. I built a part an practically nobody came. So much for the "part of dreams". Where are all the talky people? I'm here!

This has to be new. I built a part an practically nobody came. So much for the "part of dreams". Where are all the talky people? Not so talky right now; too much reality at my house right now. For instance, after worrying for the past two years that my son was going to stay in his bedroom playing WoW, leaving only to eat, go to work, and watch the Daily Show, I'm now worried that he'll walk in the door someday, unplug his laptop, and go out to move in with his girlfriend without taking any of his rubble away with him. Or that it'll be one of those rebound things which will burn out in a month leaving him more hermit-like than when he started, and then he'll stay in the room until the laundry, books and fast food wrappers reach the ceiling. Julia, whose house is reaching the "place where I store my junk" phase of parenthood.

Just how much can there be to do at my mom's house anyway?

Onjel!!! Thanks, Diane. I can't tell you how much I missed hanging out here. I still can't get here as often as I'd like but I'm working on remedying that situation.

I want my children to have normal independant lives. On the other hand, I hate the chance of failure, and I need him to clean his room before he moves on, y'know? Julia, more than a little amused at my reactions. Also, who will reach me down the stuff from the high places?

Also, who will reach me down the stuff from the high places? I don't think any parent relishes the chance of failure on the part of a child, so I get that. The importance of having someone tall enough to reach the high places cannot be understated. Still and all, he should clean his room. You may have him around for longer than you think should it prove to be a herculean task. ;D

Rachael: I hope Emily's doctor gets her sorted out quickly, and I hope it's something simple and easy to correct. to all of you. Onjel: I was out running errands. Or, more accurately, driving errands and walking around shopping centers. Back to the art project. Beads and charms and findings and tools all over the kitchen table... First, narrow down the selection. That's the worst bit; I always have trouble figuring out exactly what I want.
