This morning two city water mains burst. The entire town is without water. Public works expects to have them fixed by 10 AM tomorrow. Maybe. Plus there will be a boil water notice in effect until they can determine the water system is not contaminated. I don't know how much more 2009 fun I can stand. Well, that's . . . just wrong. As for 2009, right there with ya, scooter. Relax. It's almost over, thankfully.

Our New Year's Eve plans just became canceled. Our friends were going to travel down here and ring in the New Year the way we traditional have in the past, i.e. lots of fun games and laughter, but instead it looks like they are going to spend it in the hospital because his mom woke up this morning in extreme pain and couldn't move her legs. On top of everything else, I'm ready to hide under my blankets new year's eve and wonder if 2010 has a baseball bat behind it's back...

Emily sat up on her own today.... Whoa. That's Anna-early, which may need an accelerated child-proofing schedule. Julia, I walked at six months, but Mom was bored/it was bad for my hips.

Good for her reflux, though, so they tell me. Can't roll over yet, but can sit up. Her milestones are out of order.

Emily sat up on her own today.... Go Emily. Uh, but Rachael, crawling is usually not far behind sitting up. When babies get mobile, Mommies have to get vigilant. How's her tummy problems?

Not perfect, but the proton pump inhibitor is definitely helping. OTC, since her insurance is STILL waffling over covering the prescription.

Just a quick message for Monnie before the computer shuts off here at library:
My deepest sympathies in the loss of your father.

It sounds like my Emily - it's been many years, but if I remember right, at about three months she spent an idle evening sitting up and falling over while I frantically stuffed pillows here and there because she insisted on sitting up in her cradle, falling over, bonking her head, wailing, sitting up, falling over, bonking her head... I also took the cradle off the stand because I was terrified she'd fall out, silly girl. Then she waited to sit up again until she could do it properly. Apparently it was an early test of the system. She was always doing that.
