Just my two cents. Vlad, is this one of your sketches? If so, beautifully rendered. If not....well, I like it anyway.

yes, it's some of my computer generated art. I can't really call it a "sketch" tho', being as I didn't do it with normal "sketching materials." I am not positive I like it, but I'll leave it up til something better comes along or inspiration strikes. I am glad you like it, tho'. I don't think its "bad" but i didnt get hte effect I was hoping for. I'll keep playing with it. Vlad Edited By Vlad I at 4/22/2003 7:12:00 PM.

VLAD: I'm not positive I like it either. I like the idea of a pic of Spike, and I like the one you picked - and this may just be my browser/connection - but I didn't like how much longer it took to load the S'cubie home page. I wish the picture was smaller - that would speed up the loading. Also, on my 17" monitor, the "click to enter the site" was no longer visible and I had to scroll to get to it. Might be confusing or frustrating to new visitors who don't think to scroll, and wonder where everything is. Edited By Spring Summers at 4/22/2003 7:28:00 PM.

I emailed you concerning the Vlad-thing. The anticipation of finding out what's going on is killing me.

JOSHUA: I emailed Nan also, and am all a-tingle with anticipation. I just hope this doesn't involve stakes and visits to Vlad's crypt some sunny morning. Such an expedition would do the namesake of our Institute (Dr Van Helsing) proud - but still, as Willow once said about staking Spike "it's oookey. We know him."

I was just about to say I liked it when I read Spring's post. She raises some important concerns about practicality. Ease of use and ensaring victi...ahem, patrons should be of paramount importance.

Is it me, or did the promo for next week's episode go a long way toward spoiling it?

I haven't even finished reading all the posts of part 20, or Lee and Diane's debate, or David's new and/or expanded essays, or so much that's around. We certainly are a prolific bunch, aren't we? And if one steps out of the river for one whole minute, so much sweeps by. I'll catch up presently, but I have other things to do first. Just wanted to pass along to you the website of Gweneth Rhys (nice Welch name). She's the lady who wrote "The Valorous Vampire," the Watcher-Lady's account of Spike. She has some quite nice fictions, besides what's on allaboutspike. The URL of her website is: www.drizzle.com/~gwyneth/index.htmlIf you have some time, you might want to give her stuff a look. Rob,
I didn't think so. Such a short clip (well, 2), but each very short. Who knows how the scene went from there or what else goes on. Also, the scene could take place even before the credits with lots of ep still to go.

Good grief! I was on the board til late last night and then log on some minutes ago and find that we're in a whole new PART and I missed butting into a lot of conversations!
I'm going to try a compilation of responses:
VLAD - I like your new Spike pic, but would rather have a big photo of Naked Spike as the 'cover story' and the art in an art section. Got any photos of Naked Big Spike lying around? I mean, Big Naked Spike. I mean - maybe we should just go with the pic you used.
SOMEONE asked me what gift I'm taking James. I'll tell you when I get back. Someone might realize what a genius idea it is and steal it. Not a S'cubie, some minion of the first Lurker! :-)
NAN, I emailed you. Let me know if you did not receive please. I think I forgot to set the 'she got it' flicket. ROB - I think every preview gives away SOME plot point - but I don't think it told us how things will turn out.

Well...I just had one of those moments. I think a few of you have already gone through this and so I hope I won't sound completely nuts.
I mean, I've known it was ending. It makes me unhappy. I'll miss it, but I've tried to remain calm and rational----it is just a TV show.
In fact, since it was a repeat I watched Gilmore Girls with my husband and daughter. When GG ended I flipped over and caught the last minute--Buffy's "we just formed an army...the only thing stronger than evil is us" speech. Followed immediately by the preview. (Kudos to anyone strong enough to avoid even that much spoilage, although, unlike Rob I don't think there was enough context to really give away much.) And...it just hit me viscerally (does that mean "in my gut"?). So, PBDS going on here big time. Emotional meltdown. How can I be so attached to fictional characters? (Well, so I cry every time I read "The Last Battle" or the end of "Lord of the Rings". I know it can happen.)
Oh dear, Oh dear. Am I nuts?

You make a good point. I'm not even going to comment any more on it. Let's just wait and see what happens. The Bring On the Night speech was her best effort, by the way. She's just marvelous there. It's too bad she kept giving them.

Nuts is the last thing you are, Sue. You're perfectly normal in your reaction. My worst day was the day after Sarah made it official that she wasn't coming back. At least, so far it was. It's only going to get worse.
Perhaps even more difficult is the fact that I just KNOW---though I am proudly unspoiled for the last 3 1/2 episodes--that Joss is going to make us hurt. You have no idea how hard it's been for me to block out Spoiler Slayer for the last couple of months, but I've done it out of respect to Joss. I want him to have his way with me.
I foolishly put my emotional well being in his hands. As Buffy would say, that is not of the good.
