To Sue who commented that Alexandra should be the one to write a "goodbye" ending for our SSS board:
I have written a farewell for the ScoopMe board and I will post it closer to the last date our group will post here - which is June 8th. ScoopMe shuts down forever on June 15th. For new posters, our Message Board is just relocating to a place within The Soulful Spike Society web site (http://www.geocities.com/scubiefan.)
Sue, I appreciate your vote of confidence and thank you for the sentiment.

Hello Nicki and welcome. Please come see us at www.geocities.scubiefan.com. On the left division of the screen, at the top you'll see the link to our new board, which (we hope) will fill the gap left when ScoopMe shuts down. It's got lots of toys to play with and lots of friendly people to schmooze with. I hope we see you there.

Regarding Tanya's being unaware of the Angel/Spike 'wars'; well, I was unaware of them. I can't believe that people would resort to verbal wars over the issue; much as I love the characters, it IS a TV show, not the U.N.
How perceptive of you to recognize that fact(**sarcasm not aimed at you but intended toward those who don't recognize that this is a TV SHOW not brain surgery, fer Pete's sake!**)
Personally, I don't care for Angel, although I do watch and enjoy the series very much. I'm a Spikeaholic and a Willow Worshiper, proudly so and willing to debate the virtues of my particular favorites from here to the Hellmouth. But I dislike the bitterness that sometimes erupts over the Angel/Spike issue.
You've nailed what is probably the single driving reason the S3 was formed. A group of people wanted a place to enjoy their favorite character in an environment free of the back (neck?) biting that so often erupts.

You have been wonderful in setting up this (should I call it a sub-board?) and occasionally acting as unofficial moderator.
Very slowly I am making the transition to the new board and learning to play with its toys. I think we'll be quite at home there.
Thank you Alexandra for your efforts. I'm quite sure I'm not the only person who appreciates them.

Sandy - Thanks for the nice feedback.
I plan to keep plodding along with analyzing the BtVS episodes. I try to do one a week. So it will be something like 1.5 - 2 yrs before I start on AtS - BUT yes, I plan to watch AtS religiously this season, and to analyze the eps when I get to them. It actually works better for me to analyze the eps a year or more after they aired, since I can pick-up the foreshadowing, etc.

Yep - though I thought the "greater capacity for good" article had some interesting insights, I thought it was way too slanted - I don't generally like articles that compare/contrast Angel & Spike in an effort to figure out "which is better" somehow. It's just asking to set off the "wars."
I do like to compare and contrast them, and we are certainly meant to - to examine the various ways people deal with various things - but trying to prove one is "better" than the other is an endless, useless game.
I know I like Spike better - I just relate to him and his personality type better - but that's about me, not about the characters, or about some kind of objective reality - or wait - this is a TV show, isn't it? So there is no objective reality, except whatever exists in Joss's head, and we're never gonna get a full tour of Joss's brain (probably too scary anyhow!).

I was at Wal-Mart last night and was cruising through the DVD section when what did I spy with my little eye? Buffy Season 4 DVD!!! Didn't think it was supposed to be released until next week but apparently Wal-Mart likes to get it out early.
In my enthusiasm I bought the DVD, ran home, tore it open and started watching - and then I realized I had already pre-ordered it from Suncoast. Damn my impulsiveness!
Anyway, I watched the Spike featurette (on disc 3) - check it out, it's great! JM looks so amazingly gorgeous - how can someone be that good-looking? Definitely check out the commentary by JW on "Restless" and the commentary by JW, Marti Noxon and Seth Green on "Wild at Heart" - I woke my roommate up, I was laughing so hard listening to those three. Their commentary is absolutely hysterical!!
There seem to be more extras on this DVD than the other seasons. There are 5 featurettes on Disc 3 alone. Oh, also check out the Season 4 overview on Disc 6 - it's really long and not enough Spike but I still thought it was pretty good.
Now, if only I can figure out what to do with my extra box set....

I just had to de-lurk to add another post on the quest to 30,000. I also wanted to add a thanks to you all for the many hours of entertainment, I have enjoyed reading your posts and will continue to lurk over on your new board (which BTW looks excellent). And, I must give praise to those who wrote fanfic on the S'cubie site, I have been really enjoying it. Cheers, JS Oh, and Lee - Lucky girl, I am very jealous you have your S4 DVDs already. I can't wait. Edited By Jody S at 6/5/2003 10:31:00 AM.

I'll just hate adding to the Walmart monopoly (bitter about K-mart closing in town) - but I might have to make a run at lunchtime and swipe some plastic. Thanks for the heads-up!
Wonder who will be #30,000? Goodbye Scoopme!
