Ok, I'm doing this in three separate posts because I don't want to get too long and some of the others require "discussion". Here is the list of each of the SSS Threads and who has volunteered to archive each one. Thanks to everyone for helping out!

This list includes the post Alexandra gave me and others I found while skimming the entire list this morning. I tried to stop around the time the SSS was formed. If any of them should be removed or if you have any to be added to the list, please let me know!Note: I'd rather wait until I have feedback before asking anyone to archive these (unless they are obvious, like Spike's Pants!). This is just my suggested list so I don't want anyone to waste time archiving one if the rest of the S'cubies don't agree we should be keeping it. I'll repost the final "To Archive" list once everyone shares their opinion. This last list is threads that were created by S'cubies. I only pulled out the threads that had several posts under them and the majority of those were made by other S'cubies. Lee has already done the "Buffy Humanity" debate but I wanted to get everyone's feedback on the others. Please let me know what to remove or add. Again, I'll repost the list once I have final comments from everyone.

I was just reading over the Part 20 Intro, and was struck by "supplementary archival website." I think at this point it's much more than that, and wouldn't suffer from more praise and exalted language. Just a tiny, tiny though

Rae, This is really good of you to organize this. Are we just copying all posts, or are we editing out expired messages to each other that aren't relavent to the comments or discussion? And are we just copying and saving to Word? If someone reminds me of the what/how I'll do my share.

So many Spikecentric web sites are throwing in the towel do you think one might let us take over as long as we modified it to suit ourselves? Maybe that's not a solution, but just asking. Also, if Angel continues it would be good to link to any Scoopme editor that continues that thread. Maybe we could ask if and how.(And discourage them from using Yahoo.)

My response to the debate is up...Sorry about the excess verbiage, but...well...you know how it is when you get carried away.

Now that I know which ones to do, I'll get started.I'm gonna save everything, just as is. Sometimes a joke turns on a typo or mispelling and it would be nonsensical to correct them. They is what they is.How I do it--if it's useful to anybody else--is get a post onscreen with Word open also; block the post, then right click on it (or hit Edit, up in the browser's menu) and COPY it. Then switch to Word, make sure the cursor's down below the last thing done, and PASTE the new material (either by hitting Control v, or by the Edit menu). Save occasionally as you go, to make sure the effort isn't lost if something goes wrong. If there's a major oops somehow, dump the onscreen version and revert to the last saved version rather than try to sort out an utter can of worms; or better yet, just hit UNDO (Edit menu) and whatever your last action was (like PASTE) will be undone. That's how I copy stories from allaboutspike. Of which, more later....I have Word 2000, but I'll save the resulting document down (Save As) to Word 95, just in case there's trouble handling it on Vlad's end. And I don't know how well the picture links will travel....but they can be renewed.Anyway, thanks, Rae.Nan

Any I did on the Misc. board proper can be pitched/ignored. I'd prefer the "final" versions on the website to stand rather than the intermediate versions from the Misc. board.

Rae: Put me down for Part 7. Also, on the misc threads started by S'cubies, you have:--For everyone, there is a season (Posted: 2/23/2003 11:25:32 PM Spring Summers) I didn't actually start this. A comment I made on the ep board got moved over the ScoopMe editors. I would say don't bother archiving.

Rusty - All I am doing is opening up each post using the litte "+" sign box, then copying and pasting in Word. Part Two didn't have any pictures, so I used the "Paste Special" and pasted "Unformatted text only" - that way all the "Reply" buttons and colors, etc, didn't paste over, and it made the file a lot smaller size.I didn't do any editing except to put some lines betweens the posts, and pretty it up a bit for clarity's sake. I agree with Nan - typos should not be corrected. It should just reflect whatever was originally posted. If I do threads that include pictures, I'll rethink my "text only" choice on the "pasting" - as I assume we want the pictures.

I have found two authors at allaboutspike that have astonishingly good, powerful work. The first is called "Herself." All her archived work is worth reading, but I suggest anyone start out with the two linked novelettes, "What She Deserves" and "Lovingkindness." You'll either be blown away by them or swallow your tongue and need medical assistance. In these two stories, her premise is that Spike, having gotten his soul instead of the chip removal he intended (although the chip ceases to function) becomes convinced that Buffy should and will never love him and that his attentions are only making things harder for her. So instead of returning to Sunnydale, he goes to NYC where he finds many willing to punish him almost as he feels he deserves. One of these young men, Jack, has the acute pleasure and misfortune of falling in love with him. Then Buffy shows up...If you can stand seeing Spike in enormous psychological pain and adrift, this story and the one that follows it is immensely powerful reading, sophisticated, excellently executed, and acute. It's had me in tears throughout 3 rereadings. Herself's series of shorter stories, the "Bittersweet Series," is also excellent, particularly Manhattan Nocturne, when Spike and Dru visit NYC in the 1920s. Basically it's a historical piece covering Spike's activities from arrival to the following morning. It's horrifying and beautiful and very Spike. A little lighter but also excellently done is Daemons Luminati by Kalima. Her stories are more uneven and there's a prepondrance of fluff, but this longer tale is well worth reading. Indeterminate Season Six (I think) Spike is found in an alley beaten within 1/4 inch of his unlife. Buffy and the Scoobies slowly draw out from him his conviction that he's been beaten and raped...by angels, who stole his duster, to boot. And he wants it back. Things get even stranger from there on. Tara is particularly well done in this story, but Spike is at the center and is masterfully portrayed. I even liked quippy Buffy. I'm not into fluff. I tend to go for the strong stuff, like peasant's and coquette's work (for instance), with some substance to it. If your tastes run that way too, I think you'll enjoy these though few giggles are to be had. Remember: you've been warned.

I should mention that all Herself's fiction contains considerable graphic sex, completely pertinent and necessary to the plot and characters but (in general) not in the least romantic. These stories made me think to myself, "Love is a matter of people, not a matter of plumbing." It's definitely for grown-ups only.Kalima's work has virtually no explicit sex.Nan
