Julia said: Although who knows, google "Katrina" and "Taco Bell" together and maybe you'd find more than you think. Now doesn't THAT sound positively obscene! Nan

Seriously, I think there's something wrong with my depth perception... I keep covering one eye today to see what the world looks like, and it doesn't look any flatter... it just sort of gives me a headache. I'm not sure why it would give me a headache. Nobody else is in the office today, that's why I can get away with this. Julie, I got this vision of you doing that and fell out laughing. God I LOVE This board!

You said it, not me. Maybe not a cap in their ass but a stake. Oh, yeah, that reminds me...LOVED Andrew writing "steak" and then crossing it out and spelling it correctly!

//I'm ready for some Spuffy lovin'! Not Waith, not Xanya, DEFINITELY not Willenedy but some Spuffy!! // Xanya? Exactly what does bad Olivia Newton-John movies have to do with the price of tea in China? :-) Willendy! I got a giggle when I read that one.

//I'm telling you, Giles is pregneant with an evil entity that, upon it's birth, will leave him catatonic as it spreads fake peace and joy throughout Sunnydale. I know I saw that premise played out somewhere else before -- might have been on the X-Files.// That's too funny. i might have to concede defeat. Can the mighty power of Twizzlers save me?

I know ONE real life Buffy fan. She's very new to the fandom (only a few months now), and it's fun helping her along. She's just now seeing the episodes for the first time, and I love it when she comes in to my office, raving about an episode - today it was The Body (she doesn't have access to the current season). The online Buffy friends I've made are great, but I truly love having one whose face I can watch as she describes her enjoyment of another classic Buffy moment. I'm looking forward to seeing how she takes the Spike redemption story arc, and if she becomes as emeshed in it as I have. Oddly, we have the same birthday. (Any other Aquarians?)

I just loved the whole scene, especially when Anya brought up sex with Xander on the cot and all the girls on the cot got off. I'd have really loved it if Spike had been there, considering he still sleeps on that thing. And then Andrew writing about sex on the board. Classic.

David said 'I said it before, even the president has his cabinet of advisors. They discuss their plans and options with the president, and then nod quietly in support as the president presents the plan to the people. Buffy also has a cabinet -- Giles, Xander, Spike, Willow, Faith ... and to a degree, Anya and Wood. She wants them to do the part where they nod quietly behind her she presents the plan, but she keeps bypassing the conference summits that are generally the pre-requisites.' You know what though? I predict Buffy AND Giles and Willow and Xander and Dawn and Faith and Spike are going to do exactly what is needed and make peace and become united again in as little as 3 more episodes. And though I am somewhat spoiled, I am not spoiled to the degree that I know how all this relationship mess-up is going to be resolved. I just believe it will be.

Speaking of "Xanadu"....has anyone seen "I Love the 80s" on VH1? It was a ten hour series they did - each hour covered a year in the 1980s. It was absolutely freakin' hysterical!! I have tears rolling down my face everytime I watch it and I've seen each hour like 4 times each! Seriously, it's so funny and everything is so true! They interview a bunch of celebrities about what they remember and one of the funniest celebrities is Hal Sparks (used to host "Talk Soup" - loved that show - and currently on "Queer as Folk"). If you're ever flipping through channels and see it on VH1 - STOP and WATCH, it is WELL worth!!! God, I'm cracking up right now just thinking about the episodes. Damn, I wish one was on now! -L

I am not EVEN going to try to read all these posts! Man are you guys prolific! Nan called, and it's always great to talk to her. Anyway, here's my take, for what it's worth. Buffy is exhausted, emotionally and physically. She's frightened. Scared to death that she won't be good enough, strong enough, to defeat the FE et al. Her arrogance and single-mindedness is a direct result of that exhaustion and fear. She's moving at all only by her power of will. Yet in her single-minded purposefulness, she has forgotten teamwork, she's forgotten that the Potentials, while only girls, are also "more" than mere kids. (Hence Faith's comment of "Learn their names?)She feels Giles' perceived betrayal of her (when he tried to kill Spike) acutely, and she projects this perceived betrayal to the rest of the "team" as well, thus encompassing all her friends. She feels alone in the middle of a crowd of family. Faith, OTOH, has come into this "new" and fresh and can see things from an outsider's perspective. She and Buffy have had their bad times, and don't always like each other, but they DO respect one another as Slayers. Faith, who has gone to great efforts to avoid responsibility, recognizes Buffy's despair over having all that responsibility crashing in on her. However, she seems to genuinely feel sorry for the Potentials individuals, and people. To Buffy, at this point, they are only inferior tools for her use in the battle, which is why she hasn't been able to get any real loyalty or support from them, nor has she been able to infuse them with any self confidence. When Faith takes the girls to The Bronze, she achieved instant recognition as (to them) THE Slayer, because she recognized them as people. As individuals. Their attack on the police to defend Faith shows that they are willing and able to fight when it's necessary and when someone has faith (no pun intended) in them. I believe Faith was appalled at the scene at home when everyone was against Buffy. That wasn't at all what she'd intended. Whereas in the past, Faith may have been delighted to undermine Buffy, that wasn't what she was there for THIS time. She'd come to help...not to drive a wedge between Buffy and her team, yet at the same time, she also disagreed with Buffy's handling of the situation. I think she was more than appalled when it suddenly seemed that all the responsibility was dumped on her. Faith's never been real big on responsibility. Spike is definitely showing his worth to the team, and it appears that even Giles is beginning to see that and is (however reluctantly) trusting him. I'm sure Giles is just waiting for him to betray them, but at least he's giving it a try. I still have to grin when I think about the conversation about the Onion Blossom. Spike's a lot more patient with Andrew than I'd be. I'm with Giles. I'm about ready to throttle him.As for Willow and Xander, Willow will ALWAYS love Xander, and the scene in the hospital was almost enough to have me in tears. Xander is almost always much unappreciated. He is an anchor to the S'cubies. He anchors their hearts. And...my tongue's hanging out waiting to see what happens next week. If Buffy rejects him again, I'll scream. It IS going to be very interesting when Angel gets to Sunnydale. I wonder how he will react to the relationship? Rhonda
