Okay, you go off on the raft, and leave Sayid on the island. With me. ;D Bye, Spring, bon voyage! Well, she can have Jin and Michael, but Sawyer has to stay with the baby now.....and me. So long, Spring!

Random: Speaking of babies. 44 now left? How many men? How many women? How many condoms? Any body know the rythm method? And where is the black lady (sorry I forget her name). I miss her. She had some good common sense. ============== Shannon---bleah. Sayid is far better off without her. Talk about "it's all about me, me, me, me." She's only mad at Locke because he took away her toy/minion (Boone). Now who will mindlessly worship her? Are you saying Shannon is Glory? I miss Rose, too. She has been conspicuously missing lately. I still think she's the key to the mystery in some way. Interesting to think about the future babies and what that all might mean. Not that I have any great thoughts about it, other than in another 9 (Lost-time) months it might start to get awfully noisy with babies.

So...Locke thinks confessing to whacking Sayid upside the head and breaking his tranceiver is gonna INCREASE the trust level? His logic does NOT resemble our earth logic. That WAS weird. I was glad to have that mystery solved, even though most of us figured it had gone down that way.

Am having major brain blockage. I think I shot my wad on finishing up the VM review on that chock-full-of-happenings VM ep. I'd better go to bed. I think sleep will bring some inspiration and clarification of what I saw in this ep. It sure seemed to be about . . . the way individual motives and acts inform the big picture, if you know what I mean. Guns (force) vs trickery (mickey in drink, Sayid tricking Assam) vs gentle persuasion (Sawyer's drawl, Sayid's quiet interrogation of Locke). Walking vs driving/cars. Selfish vs selfless motives; Love vs vengeance/crossover thereof. Lots o stuff. You are getting LOST in Spring's brain! Acck. I am soooo damn tired. Vlad, if you see this, I sent you an IM. Also, get some sleep. Good night, my friends! We're not that "Lost". Pretty darn good roadmap to the episode. I'm betting you could write those reviews in your sleep!

LOL! I thought the same - about the armor. It did look like he got shot in the chest. I wonder if Sayid was ever told of Nadia's whereabouts. I wondered about that too. Did he get shot in the chest another time? Or did the producers wuss out on promised killing off major characters - Boone and more to come. Right now, a loss of Locke would be a loss of a great actor and leave quite a hole in the show.

Mostly for the midnight surfing, but I'm sure he squirreled away a couple of gallons of SPF50000 sunscreen from W&H before they left. I'm not saying he'll tan or anything, but he'll still be beach-worthy. But sorry Spring, sorry Anne, he's just not available for the Lost island. Mmmmm...Spike on a moonlit beach... uh, was I saying something? Linda, mmmm...Spike on a moonlit beach...mmmm

Hi everyone,
Your posts made me smile. It's kinda nice to get back to a routine.
My memory is particularly swiss-cheesey this week. I've probably failed to notice a lot of stuff.
Randomer than usual thoughts:
Hee! The new black. Thanks Lola!
Awwww Sawyer. Not only did he give in and keep talking, he also wore his glasses in front of Charlie, the baby & Claire.
I know this was supposed to be Sayid's week, but the thing that fascinated me the most was Jack's falling off the edge. I think he was being pointed out as the Daddy of the group, because like Mommy-Claire, he refused to take a nap. Well, in his open attack on Locke, he gave the entire group Daddy-issues. Shannen (as she's about to pull the trigger on Locke): Jack said he's a liar.
I agree that the fact that Jack didn't even make a move to examine Locke after he was shot is particularly chilling.
Sayid's interrogation of Locke was interesting. I think that Locke revealed the head-bash thing because he needed a secret big enough and distracting enough to pull the very perceptive Sayid away from the hatch thing. Locke revealed only as much as he had to. Like the gun. Adaptable. But the thing I don't get yet is what Sayid is planning to do with what he learned.
Why keep the hatch a secret?
I thought Locke's reasoning for the head-bash was particularly weak, especially given the little we knew at the time. Did the Island tell him to do it? (Pixi said it better: weenie answer. ;D)
That's all I got.
Linda, late again.
P.S. But Hawaii still very pretty.

For Patti (although omissions and inaccuracies are all mine) Sayid Episode B: For the Greater Good Flashback turning point: Convincing his friend to go through with it. Island turning point: Preventing Locke's death & thereby losing Shannen? Why in Australia: travelled around looking for Nadia & then got snatched by the CIA and brought to Sydney to go undercover. Misc. facts: We now know that Locke is the one who koshed him on the head. He wasn't supposed to be on this flight. He rescheduled in order to claim his friend's body. He's still willing to sacrifice his principles for Nadia. Misc. questions: Why did Sayid choose to keep the head-bash thing and the hatch thing between himself and Locke? What did Sayid major in? Did anyone catch his last name? (I missed it.) How did he get out of the Republican National Guard? Honorably? Dishonorably? "How the heck did he escape!?" Jungle of Mystery Moment: n/a Cameo in someone else's flashback: Didn't notice anyone in this ep, although he possibly saved somebody's life by stopping the bombing. Con Man or Killer?: Con. In the flashback: indirect Killer, although he saved many lives. Father issues (Karen's excellent category addition): unknown Numbers Featured: didn't notice any (sorry.) New information about Shannen: would-be killer. New information about Jack: he hates death, but he hates Locke more right now. Please feel free to correct/argue with any of the above. Linda

Linda I like it. The flashback turning point and island turning point are nice mirrors of each other. Like a mirror, they are the same, yet flipped. Choosing the ?wrong? thing to be with the woman you love, then doing the ?right? thing even tho' it may lose you a woman you are falling for.

Choosing the ?wrong? thing to be with the woman you love, then doing the ?right? thing even tho' it may lose you a woman you are falling for. The Sayid/Assam thing is a lot like the Locke/Boone thing. Differences, yes, but basically: One guy talks the other guy into killing himself, for "the greater good," he says (Locke used terminology like this with Boone, he said something like, you have to do it "for us") when really, it's because he "wants to be (stay) whole." Shannon/Locke is also about her feeling incomplete without Boone, I think. She's trying to feel whole again, and she's young and inexperienced enough with death, that she thinks vengeance might do the trick - like what Assam was talking about - he asks himself: Is he doing the bombing just as vengeance for his wife's death? Sayid is much more experienced and mature than Shannon; he knows killing Locke isn't going to fill her emptiness - that sacrificing your soul in an attempt to feel whole again is a contradiction in terms and is never gonna work. Like Claire - that baby feels like a part of her, she hates to let go. But sacrificing her health/sleep isn't the answer. I am rambling again, but the episode, everything in it, was about people struggling to feel complete and finding out the right and wrong ways to go about self-fulfillment - which in the end, is all about being true to yourself, while serving others (the greater good).
