Yeah, he's a good tracker. Jin's learning quickly, isn't he? And flashback.. And here's the test of what his boss told him. and here's why he's not a doorman when we see him later... Wow, he actually gave him a warning. And wow... Jin has PRIDE. Well, telling kate about the bottle would help.. well, okay. But that's probably where your ring is. And so Kate thinks, too? Sawyer looks sorta bushed. And Ana Lucia is gonna give him shit.. no, water. okay. "Too bad. You seem suited for it" No explicit answer on the "gay" question! Slashers rejoice everywhere!!He's SO gonna leave your ass by the river. AAAAAH!!! Hey, Michael!! I had that same thought (well, that thought and also that Sawyer needs his woobie Jack to make him all better .

Way to keep a low profile, Michael. "They will not be found... and they ate our traveling companions" What the hell IS kate doing? So you are looking through there to see if he professed his undying love? yup, there 'tis.. And Jin still has on his bracelet..and Michael's passion is leading them all on. So, flashback again.. Heh.. there's st. Blammo in action for ya!!! Preview... Oh crap, does that mean people gonna die again? THREE WEEKS?! SUNNUVABITCH! THREE WEEK hiatus AND a character death? Dammit!! I read somewhere that the person killed off would be one of the female characters. I am soooooo hoping that it won't be Rose who draws the short straw, just as her hubby has found out she's alive. I suppose it's too much to expect that Ana-Lucia get voted off the island or whatever...
I like Misterenko - wonder how he'd get along with Locke?
I knew from the moment that Sun said she'd lost her ring that she would find it with the buried bottle.
Great Jin flashbacks - I couldn't care less about Kate and Jack or Sawyer, but I really like Sun and Jin. Wonder what happened to Sun's puppy.
Jin is very gutsy.
They're feeding Vincent fruit? It won't hurt him, at least not most fruit; but he really needs protein.
A good episode. I wonder also if the new blonde is going to bond with Michael.

Chick peas are neither a chick nor a pea. Discuss. Or, you know, talk about this week's episode of Lost. Whatever. They're legumes. Stream of consciousness comments: Too many mysteries, too much flashback. I knew Sun lost the ring when she buried the bottle; it was pretty much inevitable. Now Kate knows about the bottle. Well, she's pretty good at keeping secrets. Locke gave good advice, who would've guessed. I think bald hotel guy might have tried to defect to the US on West Wing once. Poor Sun, she really thought she'd found someone nice, and he was just using her. Are The Others survivors gone even more primitive? Are they zombies? Why a teddy bear? Why so many bear motifs on the island? Oh no, it's the Clan of the Cave Bear! I agree with whoever said it before, Ana Lucia is a bounty hunter. Death in three weeks? Might just be another of the background decoration survivors, the ones who only appear in group scenes. Not really caring so much at the moment.

I also detected some good chemistry with the blonde and Michael - maybe they will go somewhere with that. Unless, she's the one drawing the short straw. There have been all kind of rumors about who might die, but . . . I hate the idea of losing any of the "regulars." Claire is probably the one I could deal with best - I mean, if we lost Claire. Not that I want her to go, but just, if I was forced by the writers to choose someone to leave the show, of the regulars, I would choose her. So far, she's been the least interesting one to me.

Had a small thought:
The large gentleman of color is named "Eko"?
He is an echo, or a reflection of, or counterpart to Locke. They both have tracking and weapons skills, they both hunt.
I wonder why Eko was so understanding about Michael's Walt-hunting? Maybe he has, or had a family?
I did say it was a small thought...

"Misterenko" is his full name, but both Ana-Lucia and Sawyer called him "Eko" without him taking umbrage.. I think you are right: perhaps he is the shamanic counterpart to Locke: "one white, one black" and Ana-Lucia respects what he says, the way Jack respects Locke (with the same attendant frustration). And I think he implied that he had a wife that he lost there on the island.

I had another thought about books, but it isn't fully formed yet - "Our" group found Watership Down, which is about banding together to defeat a common enemy. Our group was able to organize and function as a team, more or less, so most of them have survived so far. The Clan of the Teddy Bear seem to have gone completely savage. Lord of the Flies, maybe? The tailend group are just barely surviving, with many casualties. Maybe they don't have a book. Do with it what you will, this is all I've got.

Their plotlessness contributes to their immense attrition.. Only question is, are the COTTB plane crash survivors, too, from flight 815? or the Others, survivors of a different crash, or what?

Ana Lucia is the their leader, and she seems pretty cutthroat. Telling Sawyer that they will leave him behind if he falls behind. But they aren't as far gone as the Clan of the Teddy Bear.I wonder how long they've been on the island. The person carrying the bear didn't look that young. Too many questions.

Haven't read back much...but it doesn't surprise me that all we have are three pages so far.
I like Jin and Sun, and their backstory is always interesting to me. Therefore I didn't dislike this episode. Still...not too much to get excited about, really. A couple of thoughts:
* Was anyone even a little surprised by the location of the wedding ring? I was almost rooting for Vincent to take a diamond-encrusted dump on national television, just to make things interesting.
* Sawyer/Ana-Lucia? Just a matter of time. Catfight!
* Did we learn anything new? Well...if I'm hiding from the Riev - I'm sorry, Others - laying in the bushes seems a bit over the top. Just go to your local Payless.
* Lots of credit to Daniel Dae Kim. It's a fine line showing understanding of emotions, rather than specific words. Jin gets the drift, which says a lot about his intelligence...and Kim's ability to convey that.
* Related note: notice how Jin's spoken English is slowly, but surely, improving? Guess that immersion theory really does work. If anything, this separation from Sun has done him a world of good in terms of finding his own "voice." Plus, he and Michael have come an awfully long way since the Watch Attack from season 1.
* So...it was Charlie and Sayid's shift in the hatch this week?
That's about all I have for this episode. I wonder who dies in the first episode of November sweeps?
My money's on Sawyer...nobody likes that character anyway. ;D

I wonder if the blonde kind of "helped" Michael to run away. They definitely seemed to have a spark between them.

It would be interesting to see what kind of reading material, if any, either of the other groups has. I mean, the copy of Watership Down and the comic book definitely had a connection to the island happenings.
