Yeah, he's a good tracker. Jin's learning quickly, isn't he? And flashback.. And here's the test of what his boss told him. and here's why he's not a doorman when we see him later... Wow, he actually gave him a warning. And wow... Jin has PRIDE. Well, telling kate about the bottle would help.. well, okay. But that's probably where your ring is. And so Kate thinks, too? Sawyer looks sorta bushed. And Ana Lucia is gonna give him shit.. no, water. okay. "Too bad. You seem suited for it" No explicit answer on the "gay" question! Slashers rejoice everywhere!!He's SO gonna leave your ass by the river. AAAAAH!!! Hey, Michael!! I had that same thought (well, that thought and also that Sawyer needs his woobie Jack to make him all better . Interesting, because I was thinking, who will comfort poor Sayid if Sawyer kicks it?

Haven't read back much...but it doesn't surprise me that all we have are three pages so far. I like Jin and Sun, and their backstory is always interesting to me. Therefore I didn't dislike this episode. Still...not too much to get excited about, really. A couple of thoughts: * Was anyone even a little surprised by the location of the wedding ring? I was almost rooting for Vincent to take a diamond-encrusted dump on national television, just to make things interesting. * Sawyer/Ana-Lucia? Just a matter of time. Catfight! * Did we learn anything new? Well...if I'm hiding from the Riev - I'm sorry, Others - laying in the bushes seems a bit over the top. Just go to your local Payless. * Lots of credit to Daniel Dae Kim. It's a fine line showing understanding of emotions, rather than specific words. Jin gets the drift, which says a lot about his intelligence...and Kim's ability to convey that. * Related note: notice how Jin's spoken English is slowly, but surely, improving? Guess that immersion theory really does work. If anything, this separation from Sun has done him a world of good in terms of finding his own "voice." Plus, he and Michael have come an awfully long way since the Watch Attack from season 1. * So...it was Charlie and Sayid's shift in the hatch this week? That's about all I have for this episode. I wonder who dies in the first episode of November sweeps? My money's on Sawyer...nobody likes that character anyway. ;D Complete eetah on the Jin and DDK thoughts.

Lost Thoughts...
interesting Lord of the Flies vibe with the two camps and such...
Kind of reminds me of BSG and the Pegasus as a foil for the Galactica
Ana-Lucia vs Jack leadership styles
Jin rocks with the catching the fish scene. hee.
Hurley and Sun. hee.

Interesting Sun/Locke conversation tying into the central theme of the episode and the show. Losing and Finding things. Things that are lost: the ring, the survivors, the folks from the rear part of the plane being doubly lost, losing one's spouse.
Ana-Lucia and Sawyer flirting. bad ass style.
Connections between spouses
significance of finding her ring after she digs the bottle back up.

'Cuz I kept feeling like the two plane groups were being compared. That we were being shown how relatively well "our" group is interrelated and organized versus how the Tail People are doing. Not to mention the Clan of the Teddy Bear. Loved loved loved that scene!! I tend to love scenes with either of them in it, so put the two together and . . . ;D

See what connections they are showing us with the editing. I can't wait 'til Ana-Lucia and Sawyer get to the other camp and we get Kate in the mix.

If anyone wants spoilage on the character death, IM me and I'll let you know what I've read and where. I hope, unlike me, you're stronger about these things. But if you aren't, I promise I'll still respect you in the morning.

She seems to have come to a place of peace concerning her life with Jin, similar to the way Boone did concerning Shannon. I'd be disappointed, and sad, but more disappointed if after the build up they decide to kill off a relatively unknown - or someone whose story hasn't been in the forefront lately.

I agree with you that I will be disappointed if they kill off only minor characters. I think we need to keep seeing the island as a dangerous (at least sometimes) place. Having your main cast remain untouched just wouldn't be . . . realistic. I wonder if part of the reason to introduce the Tail Folk is to re-heighten the sense of danger - since they've lost so many of their group.

I will provide all the comfort my poor little Sayid needs. So far this season, my biggest complaint is "not enough Sayid!" I have no idea who is going to die, but. . . I think of Jack, Kate, Sayid, Sawyer, Shannon, Walt, Locke and Hurley as absolutely safe. I can't say why exactly. I don't want to lose any of the rest: Jin, Sun, Charlie, Michael or Claire - but if we see a death amongst our "regulars" I would guess it will be one of these. Let me try to put them in order of liklihood: Claire Jin Charlie Sun Michael Just my own personal shot in the dark.

If they kill Vincent, I'll stop watching the show. No reason why they should kill him.
I'm surprised poor Vinnie hasn't lost weight - what's the poor dog eating? Fruit? Glad they're not starving the dog in RL, though...
Vincent is cute in a big-dog goofus way; and he makes a dandy instrument of the Powers That Be or whoever.

When followed up by "bronze", I'd say "prizeworthiness" more than aging, but "older" brides are not valued as a commodity for matchmatching, except maybe if they are very, very rich.

Chick peas are neither a chick nor a pea. Discuss. Or, you know, talk about this week's episode of Lost. Whatever. They're legumes. Stream of consciousness comments: Too many mysteries, too much flashback. I knew Sun lost the ring when she buried the bottle; it was pretty much inevitable. Now Kate knows about the bottle. Well, she's pretty good at keeping secrets. Locke gave good advice, who would've guessed. I think bald hotel guy might have tried to defect to the US on West Wing once. Poor Sun, she really thought she'd found someone nice, and he was just using her. Are The Others survivors gone even more primitive? Are they zombies? Why a teddy bear? Why so many bear motifs on the island? Oh no, it's the Clan of the Cave Bear! I agree with whoever said it before, Ana Lucia is a bounty hunter. Death in three weeks? Might just be another of the background decoration survivors, the ones who only appear in group scenes. Not really caring so much at the moment. That was me about a speculation I had seen. And the more we see of Ana Lucia, there more valid this theory seems. Anne, in another post you pick up the parallel of shamans/trackers - Locke for "our" group, Eco for the tailenders. If we wanted to carry out this fractured mirror idea, we would get our Kate the fugitive and JJA's originally intended group leader vs Ana the fugitive chaser and Tailender leader. I wonder if we will be able to pick out other character pairings between the groups as the season progresses. While I'm still posting I wanted to give a cheer for the additions to our "Lost" vocabulary, to "CFL" we can add Matthew's "Tailenders" and Anne's "Clan of the Teddy Bear" (or as Matthew put it "COTB").

Since Vincent is the least likely to have complaints about his role or have new projects to run off to, he's probably safe. If he doesn't get tired of his role or demand star billing, he'll probably be the one to greet the rescue ship in 2010!
