Definitely a good possibility. But whether her interest in Hurley is sincere or not - she is hiding something. Psychologist. I'm giving good odds that she was at the facility that Hurley was commited to, originally. * slaps forehead * Doh!

I didn't care for this episode as much as the earlier ones; it was a bit too ambiguous even for me.
I still think that a conflict, possibly a major one, between Eko and Locke, is shaping up. Locke is a false prophet, his spiritual allegiance is to the Island. Eko is the real deal, perhaps not a prophet, but a genuine priest. Locke appeared to be alarmed, or at least annoyed, by the idea of Eko's baptizing the baby. The baptism, that Charlie inspired (spurred by his odd dreams, that may or may not be the product of heroin) puts Claire and her child under Eko's spiritual influence, perhaps a bar, in Locke's mind, to whatever bond he wants to forge with them.
Interesting juxtaposition of the baptism with Locke's hiding of the statues. While Claire and her baby are joining, or at least trying to join, a higher power through the agency of a good man (Eko), Locke is playing a very strange game, by himself, taking very dangerous and soul-destroying drugs and putting them where he alone can find them.
I think Locke is enjoying becoming Claire's protector and substitute father to Aaron. But will he betray Aaron as his own father did him?
I feel very sorry for Charlie. I can't blame Claire for exiling him from her life; but I'm not sure he was using again, and he's now adrift from everyone, and has become a pariah - not a good situation. However, he has become dangerous - starting a fire and snatching the baby against the mother's will - unacceptable.
Does anyone know for sure if Hurley stepped on Libby's toes on the plane or not?
Next week's previews - Sun being snatched? Oh no, not Sun! And I hope to see more of Sayid.
GAIL

"Spiritual insurance." Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Charlie just feels he has to save the baby because he can't save himself. That's a pretty nice analogy there. Fire! And we're supposed to think Charlie did it, but I'm not sure. Hmm. How much danger is there from a fire on a tropical jungle island? I mean, isn't everything very wet? And can't they just stand in the middle of sand 'til it burns out? Oh of course he sold the piano! I mean, think of the symbolism! And damn, he's kinda right to be so angry at his brother. I mean, woah! He really did screw Charlie over to get his own life set. Give him the baby, Charlie! Charlie has officially lost it. Gone nutters. Bonkers. Wacked out. 'Course, that doesn't necessarily mean that the baby isn't in danger . . . Woah!! Locke smack down! Dang! And now everybody hates Charlie.

Would explain why she's not answering the question and coming up with an alternate "footstepping-on" explanation for why he might think she looks familiar.

Awww. Jack's gonna fix it. ;D
Double red herring! Charlie did start the fire. Good one, they fooled me.
Huh. Locke is changing the lock (heee) combo? So he can put the drugs there way from Charlie?
I wonder what the full meaning is of having the baptisme scene intercut with the heroin Mary's? And then a final shot of unibomber!Charlie.

I thought Locke pretty much "did what he had to do" given the situation. Charlie just wasn't going to "get the message" any other way. BUT - Locke is definitely up to something.

There WAS a "us" before, for you, Claire: the damned hobbit DIED trying to save you from nefarious kidnappers.. You know, it's good you reminded me of that. ;D I think the visions were more island visions, but what the really mean is still up in the air.

Hurley is adorable. Yay Locke. Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. Music Video. What a riot. That just totally killed me. ;D At the same time, I can see how you'd just . . . get used to the plain facts, seeing so many people die and . . . well. Nice description of Charlie's issues.

Asking Locke's permission to sleep in the hatch? People give Locke too much power. **nods** This group has gotten way too much into things like hoarding info and special favors and stuff for some of the group as opposed to others, etc. Huh. I didn't think of that one. Yup.

OK - well, some random impressions: - Libby is lying to Hurely about him stepping on her foot - like Charlie with his lies, she doesn't "answer the question," but tries to distract him.
Good catch. I wonder how she really knows him . . . maybe from the institution? [/li][li]Had to love the Sawyer line to Hurley: "You gotta load you need to drop in."
;D #smirk# [/li][li] Lots of fire & water imagery - diametrically opposed substances in some ways, but both purify.[/li][/ul]
Lots and lots and lots of meaningful or symbolic imagery in this ep. I mean, they do a lot of "this means something else" stuff on Lost, but this had a lot more of it in the visuals.

Don't suppose it was possible to get a count of the statues from the last episode and this one and get a count? Then we might know for sure. Hey everybody! Who want's to be Charlie's co-dependent and count his statues? **snicker**
