David said: "When did we establish that Buffy got horny from fighting? I know that Faith was always open about it having that effect on her, but I don't recall Buffy being so forthcoming." I think it was established only in that we were to assume so, because Faith said fighting made her hungry and horny, and we are then given (in various episodes) several scenes and mentions of how Buffy is really hungry after fighting, so I took it that we were to assume the other was true as well.

David said: "I suspect William was mid-20s when sired, probably 24-25." I think so too. He was young enough so that he was gawky and uncertain - he seemed very young to me in 'Fool For Love' but old enough so that in 'LMPTM' his mother is nudging him about finding a wife. I THINK that Angel was established as being in his early 30's when he was turned. Does anyone remember that? Two numbers stick in my head - 28 and 32 - I think it was the episode in 'Angel' where we are shown him killing his father.

Rob said: //Vlad, I fully admit that I wrote the goofy chapter 6 to make myself smile. Clearly that didn't work for anyone else, but it made me feel a little better, and it made sense in the context of my storyline. Xander's mind is going to have wackiness. His wackiness went a long way toward keeping everyone sane over the last seven years, so I decided I wanted to see it one more time before I never saw Xander again.// Rob, Rob, Rob do not make me come over there and force feed you a Paxil. The "goofy" chapter was fine! I enjoyed. I know for a fact other people enjoyed it. And you are correct, it worked in Xander's mind. BtVS has had it's share of "goofy" episodes, and in fact, they are usually some of the best ones. It's what has kept the show as fresh as it is after 6 and a 1/2 seasons (I always count season one as a 'halfer'). The ability to have a "fun" episode like "Something Blue" followed by a fairly serious episode like "Hush." Yet neither was a throwaway. They both served the storyline of the season and the entire show. *crosses his arms* You, my friend, need a guy pal to take you out and have a couple beers and a couple shots at the local bar...shoot some pool...and all the while talk about Buffy and Xander. The way guys do...ya know. *G* Hey! Don't laugh...I'd do that! It's theraputic. Vlad

Everyone recognized him as being older than Buffy while she was still in high school, but not so old that they balked over the age difference. I would estimate Angel as being in his very early 20s when being turned.

Now that we've bitca'd each other, I feel perfectly at ease again Sue! And the line wasn't really that good...and I'll probably have occasion to use it later. :-)

The way guys do...ya know.// I'd just be really careful which bar you choose to discuss all things Buffy, especially if your love of Xander were to come up. Some guys just don't appreciate Buffy the way we do since The Rock never once made an appearance, and Buffy has never used a monster truck to close the hellmouth.

Thank heavens! (And my family thanks you too, because, although they were unaware I wasn't leaving the board to fix them dinner until we were square!)

Or Alternately, a girl pal or two (like me and I'm sure others here!) could take you out and have a couple beers and discuss that great old time singing group 'Up with People'... Hey!...ANYTHING to get our Xanman smiling again! And the only reason I haven't mentioned Chapter Six of Triangle is because I just finished Chapter Four and it was pretty serious stuff! It's keeping me interested, but anxious at this point. Which, I'm sure, was your intention, so good on you.

Shouldn't they be making you dinner, and bringing it to you at the computer so you can relax and enjoy your day? If they can't cook, they can at least order out and serve you where you sit ....

Thanks Sue. That does make me feel a lot better about Spkie not manipulating Buffy. Now that I think about it, if he had successfully manipulated Buffy he almost certainly would have told her so in "Wrecked" when he was being oh-so-discreet. Regarding whether Spike did know about fighting making Buffy horny (if she was, which is another question)we know that Spike watched Buffy (and Riley) and that he mentions in an episode (I don't know which one) that they are all out doing some slaying to get in the mood (or words to that effect). It is also signigicant, to my mind, that he made the Buffybot that way which I always got the impression was based on his observations rather than just his desires. From a psychological point of view it would make sense that Buffy would feel horny after slaying. The adrenalin rush + the power trip + the near-death experience = aphrodisiac.

Like so many issues, I find a lot to agree with and disagree with concerning strict post labeling. First off, everyone obviously sees the need to warn if the content may have spoilage for a recent episode of BtVS or AtS. The same goes regarding people's fanfiction (I would say both our own S'cubies and other stories being talked about and recommended). That is the easy part. Second, I, like most people, find a multitude of "Re.s" irksome. My personal recommendation is that if you are hitting the 4th or 5th set then it's time to either retitle or at least redefine the "RE" with an addition. The point someone made about the "spoilage" issue was very true. Many are avoiding anything with "spoilage" in them and therefore lost out on interesting posts needlessly. My personal opinion is that "Re's" should only be used if the post is within the same page or if on two different( but adjoining) pages but only seperated by a very few posts. Getting much beyond that, it jsut gets confusing. As far as people posting something like "Patti, I whole heartedly agree!" without quoting or at the minimum stating what post number or title they are agreeing with is kinda rude. Not intentionally rude by any means, jsut the unthoughtful rude...akin to two people starting up a convesation in the middle of a store aisle while other people are shopping. They are simply glad to see each other, but it irks every one else in passing. On the other hand, I too have been guilty of poor posting habits, replying with one to many "RE.s"and so forth. It happens. You get caught up in the moment and forget. Unlike many of you, I have a fully functioning edit button and when I notice I just RE'd a commment for the 8th time, I go back and fix it. Posting really shouldn't have rules or regulations..it should have "courtesy." Even when we are specifically posting a singular other entity, we need to realize that this IS a public forum and that we are really conversing with everyone. Use the same kind of courtesy you would have at a large dinner table at a party and try to be inclusive. If you are adressing jsut one other person, do it in a manner that you aren't "overtalking" others. If everyone simply tries to do that, then the little nit-pickies go away because everyone is having to much fun to bitch. Okay, that was actually my buck and quarter's worth. Sorry. I am feeling verbose today. *L* Vlad Edited By Vlad I at 5/11/2003 7:36:00 PM.
