TEASER: Why didn't Jack take his shirt off, is what I want to know. But at least Sayid did. #liplick# "Maybe it's Them." "Maybe it's a Trap." Opera Shot of them looking down, like the shot of them looking down the hatch after they blow it open. "You" Again. And it's Desmond!!! "Scottish? Like, from Scotland?"

PART I:
Do you think I did it on purpose?
This is it. This is all there is left. Bloody snowglobe.
Ah, the button.
So Desmond was in military prison.
Desmond looks much better with long hair. he wears the scruffy look well.
Our Mutual Friend. Significance?
So Desmond just likes calling people "brother."
As long as you know when your going to die.
Real Name: Desmond David Hume
Buying him off to stay away from his daughter. Why?
Running away theme, again. But not by choice this time.
Because he's a coward.
Black smoke. Did they know this before and about the other signal fires?
The button issue. Reversal of roles.
Because you don't want to be a slave.
Do not tell me what I can do. Touche!

PART II:
Newport Beach
The Hostiles
Ignorance is Bliss. That's not what the audience thinks.
It's Libby!!
Charles Widmore.
So the boat is Libby's. Or her husband. Libby was married. Or so she says.
She's giving a random stranger the boat? That's weird and random. Or there's more to this situation.
Husband's name was David. Connection to anyone? Unless it's just that Desmond's real name is David.
Doll trap. Again.
So Sawyer figures out that Jack was talking literally about the net. Hee.
CGI bird?
And Michael's gun is blanks. Michael didn't notice this before? Cause an unloaded gun is a lot lighter than a loaded one.
Jack's forced to give Michael a loaded gun.
The bird said "Hurley?" I didn't hear that. Unless that's a "I heard an owl call my name" bit.

PART III:
Locke is crying? A little melodramatic, no?
Charlie, what are you up to?
Live together, die alone. Sun's coming along. Yep.
So the vaccine's a placebo?
So this is the stadium where he met Jack.
With money and determination you can find anyone.
I have to get my honor back. That's what I'm running too. Big difference. And then he goes running. Nice.
-What did one snowman say to the other snowman? -Smells like carrots.
WTF??
World's still here, ain't it? Not so sure about that.
But do they have a VCR?
Whee!!! What happens when you don't push the button? FINALLY!!!!

PART IV: Live together, die alone. Yep. OMGWTF!!!! A FOOT!!! A FOUR TOED FOOT!!!! So a little Easter Island, a little Planet of the Apes, and a little The Simpsons, no? Now Locke has the Jesus Stick. MWA HAH HAH!! Who knew the blast doors were so easy to manipulate? Quarintine suits. So is any of this stuff Desmond remembers? Kelvin is CLANCY BROWN!!!! Are you Him? He doesn't know who he's looking for? The snowman joke again. Is Clancy Brown looking for Locke?

PART V:
Razinsky took out the film sections. OK.
We locked out a priest? Hee.
And Eko climbs up the hatch entrance, where it all began. And he sees the quarantine sign.
If you can hum it, I can probably play it. Hee.
It might behoove Eko to explain why he thinks that the button is important.
So Charlie agrees to help Eko without any specific explanation. OK.
Aliens! Hee.
Truth comes out. That Michael set them up and that Jack knew about it. And that Michael killed Ana-Lucia and Libby and let "Henry" escape.
But if you did have time...
Michael, sorry just doesn't cut it in my book. Because you're not sorry. Not really.

PART VI:
Sayid praying. I had been wondering for the longest time if he was a practicing Muslim.
Dynamite in the Hatch. Like Hurley wanted to do.
Ah, so this is how Desmond knew how to do this.
That's a pretty strong crate.
So Kelvin drew the map or at least part of it. And Razinsky started it.
He's writing with detergent?
Razinsky killed himself. Or so Clancy Brown says.
2 years since he crashed.
Desmond got kicked out of the army because he didn't follow orders. Clancy Brown got kicked out because men followed his.
OK, I've given up trying to understand Eko's motivations.
At least Charlie gets a running from a fireball shot.

PART VII:
I'm thinking that Dharma providing alcohol was perhaps not the best idea.
A fail-safe.
The button discharges charge on the magnet. or some such thing. So it really does have a purpose.
They're not my friends. Ooooh!!!
Looking down the barrel of the gun.
About Boone. Locke's regret.
The camp is abandoned. Of course.
Rectangle hatch. Is not a hatch. Didn't see that one coming.
Now is that entirely fake or is that one of the hatches that was in use and got filled in somehow?
The pneumatic tubes!!! And they don't go anywhere. OK.
How does the system work if it's open on the other end? No negative pressure.
Black smoke. But not from Sayid.
Whispers. Again. Tranq darts. That's new. Panic. That's not.
So Michael didn't actually lead them to the "camp?" Because isn't that what he was told to do?

PART VIII:
No VCR. Of course, Locke.
So the Pearl is the experiment and the Swan is real. How does Desmond know that?
So there is shaving cream.
Never going to let go.
A rip in his suit. Sloppy.
So Dharma doesn't even believe in the "quarantine" Or else, Clancy Brown has just figured it out.
Very pretty. Sort of Australia like.
And the boat has been there the entire time.
Now he says that the button isn't real. But says it's real when he's drunk.
So Kelvin didn't so much die as Desmond accidentally killed him.
System Failure. HOLY SHIT!!
So something DOES happen when you push the button. So "Henry" did push the button that time and told Locke that he didn't.
Date of crash: Sept 22 2004
So the System Failure caused the plane crash. FINALLY that mystery is cleared up. And sort of what I suspected.
There's been a dock this whole time!
So Bearded Other Guy's name is Tom. Like the fake name Jack's father had?
And the bearded guy looks A LOT different without his beard.
And it's "Henry." Who appears to be in charge. Just as I thought.
Not this again. But this appears to be the denouement, so OK.
All we really need to survive is one person who truly loves us.
Desmond's breakdown. Saved by Locke banging on the door/window.
So this explains Desmond's state when we met him in the beginning of the season. And why he didn't share some rather pertinent information.
Question of fate.
Locke's crisis like Hurley's crisis.
I'll see you in another life, brother.
Flying metal objects? Scary as all heck.
I was wrong.
White light? And... high pitch noise? WTF?
The quarantine door. Yikes.

EPILOGUE:
Picking up the pieces.
So Charlie made it. What about Locke and Eko?
So it's about honor.
Once you leave you'll never be able to get back here.
And, are Michael and Walt going to be back? Or is this the way of writing Walt off the show because of the actor's growing too fast?
Who are you people? We're the good guys, Michael. AIEEE
So this is Pala Ferry.
So they just wanted Hurley so they could release him? Or maybe The Other's just want a Sawyer/Kate/Jack threesome as well.
Your friends are coming "home" with us.
Is Kate signalling Jack somehow?
Nothing happened.
The sky turned violet, not white. OK.
Claire forgave Charlie awful fast, no? Anyway, it's cute. Which means something bad is going to happen to them soon.
WTF? Where the hell are we?
Anomaly detected. Not for the first time.
So the magnetic thing makes the island impossible to be detected. Unless you're looking right at it, mabye.
It's the Widmore chick!! OMGWTF!!!

THINKY-THOUGHTS:
So we leave Locke and Eko unaccounted for, possibly dead (though I hope not), Hurley's headed back to the camp alone, Sayid is exploring the fake camp, Jin and Sun are on the boat, Jack/Sawyer/Kate are captured by the Others, and Michael and Walt are off on the motor boat to somewhere. And then there's the big group still on the beach.
So 2 big questions were actually answered (unless later in the show we're going to find out that things didn't actually happen the way we think they did): The button has a real and critical purpose, and the plane crash was caused by the system failure.
Desmond was in much the same position as our Losties. He did indeed end up on the island as he explained, as opposed to Henry's fake story. He's not with Dharma.
The blast doors can be fairly easily manipulated. But when they came down in Lockdown, it seemed to be on schedule.
I'm starting to think that Dharma and the Others are actually not the same. Kelvin didn't seem to think so.
Some hints about the Widmore thing being more significant.
Still not much explained about Libby, except there was indeed more to her than she let on.
Lots of new questions, of course.

Jorge Garcia deserves an Emmy nomination and the win. So, Jack knew Michael was playing them all along, or only realized it when Sayid talked to him, because I'm thinking he wasn't that clueless from the beginning. Michael is seriously screwed up for sacrificing Ana and Libby so that he can see his son again. Is it because he didn't consider them really part of his 'crew'? Would he have killed one of his 'own' as easily?Oooh, that's a really good point! Not sure if Jack knew all along. He seemed awful cluless. If he did, then that shows really poor leadership skills. And major eetah about Jorge Garcia.

Words cannot express how bummed I was at not being able to watch this with everyone last night. Especially because I had actual interesting information to contribute: Penelope? Was also the name of Odysseus's wife. You know, the one who waited for him (in her case for twenty years) as he made his way home across the seas, remaining faithful to him despite enormous pressure to remarry (in fact, she showed herself almost as smart and resourceful as her famous husband by insisting that she could not marry anyone until she'd finished weaving a burial shroud for her father-in-law; she'd work on the shroud by day, only to unravel all her work each evening). Not at all meaningful in terms of last night's story, huh? Nice. Wasn't even thinking about that, but it makes sense.
