Oh - creepy Ethan. Must be a flashback. Just got back from seeing The Messengers. Hey, Karen. How was it? Scary? Creepy and startling, but not particularly scary. Kind of a cross between The Grudge and The Birds. Very beautifully shot and scored, I thought. I didn't guess the mystery, although in hindsight my friend and I said we should've seen it coming. We didn't have high expectations after reading the reviews, so we enjoyed it for what it was. North Dakota is a stark, lonely place.

Sooooooooooooo happy that most of our guys are off that nasty, wet and dark little island. Man, that is a depressing place. I can't wait to see the reunion. I'm a little worried about Karl and what that brainwashing thing has done to him. Poor Jack. I wonder what's in store for him. Think Benry will be grateful and let him go? Loved the bus taking out Juliet's ex. LOL! (Ok - I'm a sick puppy, what of it?) Was that set up by the Dharma people, or just a coincidence? I'm happy my show is finally back, and I can't wait to see all the rest of the old Lost gang next week.

A man should really stay asleep while he's having spinal surgery. 'Cause, creepy. And I knew I didn't like that Juliette. Meh. Those Others are terrible shots.

So, she's stealing samples, maybe an experimental drug or something, for her sister? Ah. And it's her ex-husband who's bringing women in to impress them with his big . . . lab. Oh, yeah. Icky lab groupie sex.

"Wookie Prisoner Gag". Hee!
And the Buddhist imagery continues - perhaps not surprising in the "Dharma" Initiative. Though it's the first time I've ever heard of Buddhist philosophy being used for brainwashing and torture.

"Do you want Ben to die?" "I know Ben would rather die than let them go." Really? I mean, yeah, maybe she is lying about what Ben said. (Although why when she was the one who first said it was OK to kill them?) And seriously. Sometimes people say "I'd rather die" or "I'd die first", but then if faced with actual death . . ? Well. Some of the "I'd rathers" become a little less important, I'd think. Oh, trying to get the sister pregnant. Duh!! I should have guessed that from the mouse thing. Aaaaand that looks like Ed's bus in the distance. Yep. Right on schedule. Those were Dharma folks alright. Now, if she does take the job, kind of knowing they arranged for her ex to get squished . . . ethically challenged is a good word for it. Well, really, though - would you assume they'd arranged a bus to hit your ex? Even if they did plan to knock him off, you'd think they'd choose a method other than the one you suggested. Of course, them turning up before the corpse is refrigerated is kind of suspicious, but - well, I'd never assume a research institute that was wooing me would kill people to make sure I came to their labs.

Given that he deliberately nicked a kidney and used my life as a bargaining chip. AND I woke up during the surgery to hear him doing it. I worry for Jack, 'cause they've got no use for a spinal surgeon now that Henry's tumor is gone.

What if Juliette has a little I wish mind thing working for her, could be why the ex got slammed by the bus, Could also be why sis is pregnant. I mean I am not saying she isnt a great Scientist but If she really wants something bad enough maybe she can make it happen with an untapped hidden ability.
Kind of a Walt type thing, but not to the degree that walt has the ability. After all they did let Walt and Michael go because "they could not handle Walt." I think maybe she has an untapped ability. That or the Dharma Initiative is really that sick and twisted. Which could very well be.
I just think there is more to her than meets the eye.

I tossed around "island" stuff in my head beyond hte obvious "DHARMA bussed him" but I didn't hit on exactly that scenario. I like it.. it's a twist that works well with what has already been shown... especially if they want to continue the power that Walt had without the character (I am personally glad they got rid of Walt and Michael.. I never liked either character as I frequently insinuated in my old reviews. Not that anyone ever picked up on it. *ahem* ;D) Vlad

I'm almost at the point that Spring is. I am quite sick of the Others, and think there's been much too much attention paid to them; when what I at least wanted was answers about why they're there and what they're doing, not several months of having them brutalize Kate and Sawyer and play mind-games. And it seems to me they're trying to make Juliet more sympathetic; and I'm not buying.
Plus, the introduction of the Tailies with so much effort last year, only to kill off virtually all of them except Bernard, who we haven't seen at all lately.
If Juliet's sister was so ill, why would she be trying to conceive a child at that point? Is it right to get pregnant when one is dying, or going to die, or terribly ill?
All in all, I prefer Heroes - at least there aren't as many annoying flashbacks, and I like the characters better.
I suppose I'll tune back in to Lost, but I am rapidly losing patience with the show. And there's been no sign of Vincent! Maybe he's with Rose and Bernard.
GAIL
**nods** I'll hang in there, 'cuz I think we're finally getting back to "our" island. But it's been tough. The main fault was in taking up so much time with the Others. They did not need this much time to tell the amount of story that they did. It's a good thing the Lost schedule is 15 more in a row, 'cause I'm likely to hang in there until the season ends. If there were going to be all those interruptions I think I'd fade away. I'm kinda hoping a tsunami comes along and washes all the Others away and miraculously spares the Flight 815 folks. That's how little I care about them. If the storytelling shifts away from the Others and back to "our gang" then I'll be fretting in the back of my mind waiting for the plot to derail in the direction of "The Others" again. On another note, did anyone watch the "clip" episode the hour before - the Lost Survivor Guide? I wasn't impressed myself, but was giving it some leeway as it was intended for newbies. I found it very condescending and flippant. But my husband watched it too, having never watched Lost and he was very critical of it. He said the "guide" actually turned him OFF from ever watching...and yep, he went and put on the headphones and listened to the Clash while I watched the new ep.

He said the "guide" actually turned him OFF from ever watching...and yep, he went and put on the headphones and listened to the Clash while I watched the new ep. I have been turned off with the "not getting anywhere" storyline for quite sometime, but continue to watch because I really enjoy several of the characters. The last huge hiatus, after only 6 episodes, nearly ended me as a viewer. I thought it was a horrible idea, and I felt very... ambivalent when the show started back up. Thankfully they are showing it straight up all the way out for the rest of the season. I don't know if I will continue watching it after this season. I have heard rumors that it may only be back for one more season. If that's the case, and they wrap it up, I'll be there... if htey jsut keep dragging it out X-files wise, I will be done. I have taped and cataloged every episode of this show since day one. It was originally because I was reviewing it. Now it's jsut a bad habit. So, I did tape the "catch-up special" but didn't plan on watching it, having been disgusted with the several others they have aired over the seasons. However, I took the tape, episode as yet unseen to my viewing buddy's place to watch with him and rewound it a little too much by about 10 minutes. I took the opportunity to use the camode and fix me a drink. When I came back it was nearly over and my buddy looked slightly glassy-eyed (and no, he doesn't do illicit drugs ). Then they commenced to show an even shorter version of "last time on LOST" that showed the same things I had just seen at the end of the hour long program. My buddy managed to communicate to me that I hadn't missed a thing. Vlad

I'm kinda stunned she actually let him go. I mean, he's gotta have all sorts of information about the Dharma people and what they're doing. Unless the Others are really convinced that they've wiped his mind, he's going to be a great resource for the Losties. I think Benry might try to turn him into a Juliette replacement. Well, not in a romantic/sexual way (I may like slash, but Benry? Ick!), but in a doctor-to-do-my-research-bidding way. Dude - when I saw them out talking and the bus was in the background, I was all "here's his bus, right on time". ;D I can't see it as a true coincidence. With these Dharma folks, coincidence is spelled c-o-n-s-p-i-r-a-c-y as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, I really want to know what's happening with Sun and Jin and Hurley and Sayid and the rest.

True. It is a bit of a leap. I guess I could see her thinking "did they . . . ?" and then always following that up with "no, that's too off the wall, I'm just being paranoid".
