Might not be the first time, though. There was that horse (Pooka) that rescued Kate from the Marshall. Good point. I'd forgotten that. Although that could've been a real horse, and the one on the island came from Kate's memories. Too many questions. No real answers. I'm giving it until the end of the season. Also remember Walt made the Bird he was trying to show his mom and stepdad hit the window. So things have happened like that off the Island as well.

Also, now that I think of it, I'm not sure that taking Good Boyfriend Karl back to the other island is such a good idea. They know nothing about what brainwashing process he was undergoing, or how it's going to affect him - he could be a mole for The Others and not even know it. I thought that too. Maybe the whole kidnapping of Kate, Jack, and Sawyer was designed to allow the Others an opportunity to plant someone with the plane crash camp. And if we don't see Jack next until he shows up in camp, he'll be suspect in my mind too. Jeff, I don't remember the bird incident with Walt. What happened? Maybe there should be a thread called, "Lost questions we want answered by the end of the season...."

We could have a running tally of all the unanswered questions and then post when they are addressed. Just to keep from feeling overwhelmed by the show.

And it can also be a place for "questions we want answered before the end of the season" posts.

What happened?Maybe there should be a thread called, "Lost questions we want answered by the end of the season...." It was back in season 1. episode #14 "Special" FLASHBACK: Walt is staring at Vince while Susan (mom)and Brian (stepdad) talk about work. Walt interrupts them. Susan tells him to do his homework. Walt says he needs help with his report on the birds of Australia. Susan starts to feel sick and stops paying attention to Walt. Walt continues to call out for attention, when the bird he has questions about flies into the sliding glass door that leads to their porch. Brian looks freakishly at Walt, almost blaming him for this.

So Walt is unconsciously directing (some) events? yes , it is beleived that he used his "power" to make the bird fly into the door, but the key is it happened off the Island, meaning that the Island isnt causing the ability just magnifying it. IMO
