RIVERDALE?! Huh. I remember this comic episode from the archie books, only it was Jughead's dog Hot Dog and the goat. So this is the next day after the dance... huh.. ETA: Oh! Flashback!! I woke up from a nap a minute into things, so that's why I'm not fully up to speed yet.. Oh! Okay, this is what we missed before.. Lianne. Wow.. Mom was boffing Jake at the time of the murder? "Full armor"? I'd thought that Lianne was being watched by the head of security from Kane enterprises... I loved the way she said "Riverdale" and just watched them. Seeing if any of them would get it. That's our V - she loves living on the edge!

Hey, are UPN promos considered spoilers here?
Dang, I wish I hadn't watched the VM promo at the end of this episode. It may be misleading but it looks like it practically shows the actual murder. I hope it's not what it looked like.

i knew it, i knew it, i knew it! the above was the reaction this episode most often provoked in me . i love it when a show is smart enough to get viewers (or at least this one) to a suspicion-shown-to-be-accurate in a way that the viewer feels satisfactoraly vindicated instead of feeling like the plot was tepidly predictable. i'm so happy to have had a new episode finally, and another next week. --artemis, who will write more when she's not so sleepy.

What's wrong with taking a hot cousin to the prom? Provided she's not a first cousin.. Hee!!! He's the bookie!!! AWESOME!! Veronica, mom's gonna get the DTs.. let her get something to drink, it will calm her down. Wow, she IS Jake's bio daughter.. oh, good, there's an element of doubt.. aw, it's Officer Cutiepants!!! Or, "Officer I'm-gonna-so-get-my-tuchus-fired". He'd only risk it if he had an in in the game for them to lose it. Wallace, you are in for a bad time.. Polish hookers? And wow, Wallace is the goatnapper!! Ew!!! That van is never gonna be the same... I figured the meat was a sham. Very few butchers will butch an animal you bring in like that... Have I mentioned how much I love reading your "stream of thought" posts? I have? Good - 'cuz I do! This was very full of twists and turns. Who took the parrot, who took the goat, who's betting all the money, who wants the game lost or won, who doesn't like all the Wallace attention. And it's all those pieces together that explain it in the end. Plus - all the Wallace and Veronica stuff? Sweet and perfect! From the snickerdoodles to his gently attempts to have her part of his new team crowd to her going to the game she hates just to support him. I'm very happy now!

Intereesting title.. And that's a twist I didn't expect. Or, wouldn't have. Wonder what the title refers to: I'm a big "Archie" fan. Veronica was both Betty AND Veronica in the episode. Good girl next door and bad rich girl. OR does the title refer to the moms in the episode - Celeste and Veronica's mom? I used to have comics from the 50's....

I thought the Dasani commercial was fun - but then, I am oddly fond of the psychadelic kinky Burger King ads, too. **snickers, even tho' it feels a bit mean, then snickers again, over the model comment**

Okay - interesting episode. It didn't grab me like Russkie Business but still always lots of goodness. Suffering a serious lack of Logan but I remember reading from Rob Thomas' interview that the actors are only contracted for a certain number of episodes so I can understand why he wasn't on. But it was nice to see Wallace and Weevil.
Things I liked:
Lots of good throw away lines - I liked the Carrie comment esp.
I liked the way Veronica was there for Wallace, supporting him.
I liked Meg. She knows this whole thing with Duncan is hard for Veronica and yet she is still trying to be a friend. I still don't like Duncan.
It was great to see Weevil wasn't it?
I knew that wasn't butchered goat - such a classic fake out.
Was it just me? I didn't like the way they flashbacked to Veronica's Mom telling the story. I guess I wanted this episode to take up right where Russkie Business left off and go from there.
Hmm - need to let it perculate more.

Intereesting title.. And that's a twist I didn't expect. Or, wouldn't have. Wonder what the title refers to: I'm a big "Archie" fan. I think it was just that. An easy reference, with no hidden message. I was a little disappointed in this episode. The big reveal of her mother wasn't satisfying - her mother is not a sympathetic character to me so far. So if Jake is not Veronica's dad, and her mom isn't sure who IS.... just...ugh. The stuff with Wallace was neat though. I missed Logan. And am I THE most naive person in the world? That little 'marketplace' they had going with all the contraband being sold out of trunks in broad daylight just seemed ...tell me it was over the top, please!

Huh, so he's NOT the bookie in question.. but I'll bet he knows who is. Oh, Wallace, play the game. "It ain't worth Polly's life" Okay.... She's the "Betty" to Veronica's Veronica... with Duncan as the Archie. And Logan as the Reggie. Wallace is the Jughead. Numbered sneakers? Huh. So he's the bookie.... Good thing he's not a starter, ain't it? Did she just slap Wallace's ass? Oh, yeah. She tapped slapped that ass. I think I am slightly shipping Veronica and Wallace. Except that it could really screw up their friendship, 'cuz she's not in the best place right now. But they are just cuter than a bug's ear together!
