Hey, are UPN promos considered spoilers here? Dang, I wish I hadn't watched the VM promo at the end of this episode. It may be misleading but it looks like it practically shows the actual murder. I hope it's not what it looked like. No, they're not considered spoilers. I missed this one, altho I'll probably see it when I rewatch the tape. The promos are so misleading, I almost hate watching them. But they're fair play, if you want to talk about them. Hi sunworshipper!

I think it was just that. An easy reference, with no hidden message. I was a little disappointed in this episode. The big reveal of her mother wasn't satisfying - her mother is not a sympathetic character to me so far. So if Jake is not Veronica's dad, and her mom isn't sure who IS.... just...ugh. The stuff with Wallace was neat though. I missed Logan. And am I THE most naive person in the world? That little 'marketplace' they had going with all the contraband being sold out of trunks in broad daylight just seemed ...tell me it was over the top, please! No, it's not... though most of the time they are weekend flea markets and swap meets.

Veronica was both Betty AND Veronica in the episode. Good girl next door and bad rich girl. OR does the title refer to the moms in the episode - Celeste and Veronica's mom? I used to have comics from the 50's.... Ohh - Karen, I like that. Good call on the Moms. And I love Matthew's stream of consciousness posts too. It's kind of like watching the episode twice. Is it evil of me to say I pretty much figured out who stole the parrot early? I for one knew it wasn't Weevil. The pick up game just seemed so shout out.

She spent thirty k on putting her mom in rehab... wow. That's... beautiful. Money for your family. A kid is a good bet. Huh, so she's bugged.. and knows it. yep, it's a kid. It all ties together, doesn't it? Money for your family - Veronica and Abel. I was totally waiting for her to use the hidden mic, and I figured she wired the plant in Wiedman's office, but I hadn't been expecting the additional comments she made right after talking to her dad.

They are still making them to this day... They used to cost me a dime. There was talk about a movie. I wonder if that's still on.

i knew it, i knew it, i knew it! the above was the reaction this episode most often provoked in me . i love it when a show is smart enough to get viewers (or at least this one) to a suspicion-shown-to-be-accurate in a way that the viewer feels satisfactoraly vindicated instead of feeling like the plot was tepidly predictable. i'm so happy to have had a new episode finally, and another next week. --artemis, who will write more when she's not so sleepy. Hi Artemis!! Bye Artemis!!

Huh. I should've guessed the Polly snatcher was - since Wallace was so willing to give up his spot for the bird to the one guy who was behind it all. Wallace - "sweetness and purity of spirit." I really like that. Well, we got a lot of answers tonight, and a few more questions. I missed who the rubber tree was delivered to. I hope Veronica's gets her money's worth by paying for her mom's rehabilitation. (hit me - I'm a cynic) Veronica just can't help thinking the worst of Weevil, and although he's no angel, he's also not evil. I was glad to see Veronica's friend (name?) try to reconnect with Veronica. "Maybe we can have our own circle without them." I hope they do. V needs an estrogen friend to talk to. I was really glad for all the bits with Wallace and then - I think it's Meg? - and even how she liked the kid from the other school. All of them are examples of Veronica not isolating herself, and that's good in my book. The rubber plant went to the Kane security chief's office, I think.

Pretty much my reaction too. I don't like VM's mom much either. And the episode felt like it was trying to do too much - keep throwing mystery hints/clues at us to distract us from not too much going on. But I liked the promos at least. And I liked lots of little things - even a less than stellar episode of VM is full of goodies.

That line, with the Fred avatar, is giving me cognitive dissonance... mostly because I can buy it as a Fred line.

I hope it's not what it looked like. If it's already aired, it's fair game to comment on - so talking about the promo is fine, I think. But the promo looked like it might be not just for next week's ep, so even if it does show the murder in flashbacks, I'm not sure if it will be next week. I'm thinking they're just promoting the next / last 6 episodes together now. To keep up the pace and hook the viewers. Lola Hi, Sunworshipper!

Hey Lola - I liked all the Wallace stuff too although - isn't he a little short to be a big basketball star? And I really like Meg - the actress playing the part really brings a sincerety to the role that carries over the awkwardness. I expected Veronica to play Weidman with the bug. But, again, maybe it's just an overdose of mystery reading but it was fairly clear to me that Koontz was doing this for someone else once the big dying reveal came out.

Hi Matthew - thanks! So bottom line - what did you think? Like it or semi-disappointing? Ya see, that's my biggest problem: If I like a show, I am almost NEVER dissapointed by individual episodes of it: my categories normally run "Liked it a lot!" and "My GOD that was incredibly well-written!" And this one was in the "liked it a lot!" category. So, not dissapointed. But not an episode that would make me want to write my congressman.

Totally get what you mean! It makes you feel a part of the dectective story - you are discovering things along with Veronica. Sometimes you're right, sometimes you're wrong, just like her. It gets you hooked and takes you on the rollercoaster ride with her. Happy happy happy about new eps!
