Ohh - Karen, I like that. Good call on the Moms. And I love Matthew's stream of consciousness posts too. It's kind of like watching the episode twice. Is it evil of me to say I pretty much figured out who stole the parrot early? I for one knew it wasn't Weevil. The pick up game just seemed so shout out. Looking back, the pick up game was a real big clue - but I didn't get it 'til almost the end. I never thought it was Weevil, but somehow I did take the fact that they were dropping so many misleads and making the guys at the other school so nice as a hint that it would turn out to be one of them after all. Okay - interesting episode. It didn't grab me like Russkie Business but still always lots of goodness. Suffering a serious lack of Logan but I remember reading from Rob Thomas' interview that the actors are only contracted for a certain number of episodes so I can understand why he wasn't on. But it was nice to see Wallace and Weevil. Things I liked: Lots of good throw away lines - I liked the Carrie comment esp. I liked the way Veronica was there for Wallace, supporting him. I liked Meg. She knows this whole thing with Duncan is hard for Veronica and yet she is still trying to be a friend. I still don't like Duncan. It was great to see Weevil wasn't it? I knew that wasn't butchered goat - such a classic fake out. Was it just me? I didn't like the way they flashbacked to Veronica's Mom telling the story. I guess I wanted this episode to take up right where Russkie Business left off and go from there. Hmm - need to let it perculate more. It wasn't just you - I think the flashbacks took a lot of tension out of that storyline - just didn't work for me in this instance.

Oh, I really liked the flashbacks. It put me into Veronica's head. She just can't help reliving that day with her mom - it keeps grabbing at her. The emotions from Veronica felt quite real to me - her reactions each time she was "thinking" about a different part of the memory and the things that would set off another memory. The flashbacks were well done and I agree - they did put you into Veronica's head - I guess I just wanted that immediate impact of my God - it's VM's mom to play out in front of me.

Well, the end of the promo showed XXX looking directly at the camera. XXX was furious; XXX twisted around and picked something up (looked like a thick book but maybe was a metal box), spun and swung full force at the camera. Meaning at the person for who the camera was POV. Maybe XXX struck someone else or maybe this was a dream or fantasy sequence but on the face of it, it sure looked like Lilly's murder. UPN wouldn't spoil the climax of the whole season by revealing the murderer, would they? I decided not to name XXX just in case UPN promo-makers are a bunch of lame-brained asshats. Watch it yourself if you dare. That scene is in the last few seconds of the promo. Huh.. will re-watch and see. Thank you for your consideration on this, actually!

Patti - we're brainsharing. Pretty much my reaction too. I don't like VM's mom much either. And the episode felt like it was trying to do too much - keep throwing mystery hints/clues at us to distract us from not too much going on. But I liked the promos at least. And I liked lots of little things - even a less than stellar episode of VM is full of goodies. I agree - I liked the snickerdoodling, (and the fact it was too hot to eat), the goat in the van, Wallace and all his glory, and Weevil's tats. So, all in all, a good thing.

And also? That line, with the Fred avatar, is giving me cognitive dissonance... mostly because I can buy it as a Fred line. oh - that was just me testing something for Rachael!

Huh.. will re-watch and see. Thank you for your consideration on this, actually! You know - I watched the promo and I didn't notice this. I need to go rewatch it too. Matthew - I do see what you mean by rating the episodes and I'm truly not trying to downgrade VM at all - it is my absolute favorite show on the air. I was dashing home from the theatre and Kiersten was all - I thought Lost was your favorite new show. And I said I like Lost - alot but VM is definitely my favorite. I truly admire what Rob Thomas has done and I am en thrall to the actors. Ensemble acting, stand out lead acting, acting and writing at it's best. I am totally Rob Thomas' minion here.

Hey Lola - I liked all the Wallace stuff too although - isn't he a little short to be a big basketball star? And I really like Meg - the actress playing the part really brings a sincerety to the role that carries over the awkwardness. I expected Veronica to play Weidman with the bug. But, again, maybe it's just an overdose of mystery reading but it was fairly clear to me that Koontz was doing this for someone else once the big dying reveal came out. Well, it's TV, so if they say he's the basketball star, then he is, I guess. ;D But, seriously, there are some shorter players who do just peachy, even in the pros. Plus, at the high school level, I tend to think real talent and ability will often prove more of an advantage. So, kind of nice to be vindicated on guessing Koontz was doing it for someone else, eh? A remaining myster to me is the question of his sanity - is he really just pretending to be as crazy as he appears, or is he really disturbed just not the murderer (or at least not guilty of this murder) or is his illness affecting his mind? Hey! I match the episode, scene-by-scene... about a comment a minute... just rewatch and re-read... I just envy cause I couldn't do that. I was watching VM in the bedroom on my new small tv. Far from my computer.

Veronica always calls Eli when she needs a bit of muscle. His tattoos were prominently on display, too. But he's not just muscle - as he pointed out to Veronica - and she seems to keep forgetting that. It was good to see Weevil again. Weevil and Wallace - Veronica's right and left hand men. I like how they've shown both Wallace and Weevil call her on that now. We've seen her back off a bit with Wallace, understanding what he was getting at. So perhaps this will make her examine her relationship with Weevil too.
