Great post Reetta. I really enjoyed this and I agree with Spring - I would love to see Aaron thrown back into this mix. Hee - high school as a carnival. I'm so glad I'm NOT in high school anymore. Hee, thanks. All of you. One of these days I will be able to form complete sentences, too. I agree. I’m glad I’m not in high school anymore. Though obviously I am too stubborn to ever leave school entirely. I see the teenage misbehavior at work every day, but maybe being the authority figure in that circus makes it that much more enjoyable (not that I always am successful in being the authority figure). Another thing: A few pages back, Karen (I think) mentioned Weevil’s green car and Veronica’s green clothes/jacket. I noticed that in that FBLA booth scene Logan is wearing argyle. Maybe it is a reference to Duncan and their friendship? The argyle shirt is also green-ish. Well, so is Mac’s car so maybe I shouldn’t be reading too much into this. Maybe it is just wardrobe recycling. Having a bit of power - being the grownup - does help. Glad to see you around more, Reetta! I just had a thought - green is the color of money, which as we all know is the root of all evil, and there have been many references to money throughout this season. I suppose I'm stating the obvious to say that the answer to this year's mystery probably has a lot to do with really big money.

A lot of green, in fact: she had a light green shirt, with a zip-up green cardigan, and at one point was wearing green gloves. That would tie into the green=money thing. But Veronica doesn't have money and she wore a green leather jacket, so who knows? What I noticed were the red balloons that kept appearing, particularly the one Weevil bought for Ophelia. Weevil asked Ophelia if she wanted a hot dog or a balloon, and she chose the balloon. Weevil said something about how she'd be sorry later when she was hungry. Then Thumper smacked the balloon hard and said to Weevil, "Sorry! Thought that was your head." Red balloons continued to show up here and there throughout the ep. And then toward the end, Jackie was wearing a red knit skull cap, which made her head look like, you guessed it, a red balloon. What could that mean?

Hey guys! So, I felt abit bad posting my immediate thoughts this week since they turned out to be so rantily negative and you guys were having so much fun over here, I really didn't want to spoil it. Anyone who really wants to read it can see it in my LJ here,. But to be warned, it's umm, violent. Anyone remember my 204 reaction? Well, I think this one was a whole lot worse. So I'm sparing the board from the hatred. I'll just say that I thought, in my eyes, the VM quality was not there this week. The whole episode basically annoyed the hell out of me. And so it's being thrown to the bottom of the pile for me. I realize I'm in a huge minority of people who didn't like this episode. The minority at this point consisting of, umm, maybe four people that I've found? Yea. Just quickly, so you know where I'm coming from, a wrap up, short and sweet... Things that annoyed me:-subjecting me to an overly schmoopy!Logan scene after scene and trying to make me believe it? Yea, that would be the basis for the rant... -the horriblly flat Hannah character and actress ruining the little Logan/JD time we have. A flat character put opposite the oh so complex character nauseates me, though not as much as the sugar intake I had to consume watching those scenes -the directing shots that dragged -the dialogue. I know alot of people loved it, but I found it very dull and ordinary. Not the usual standard I expect from Diane Ruggiero... -the first Lg/VM scene that I've ever felt was bad -Let's be shallow: JD's hair and wardrobe. Guy should never be allowed to cut his hair that short. -Feeling like I'm being manipulated into liking Jackie when...I've always liked Jackie -the incessant carnival music! -All the time they took with the pie shots which turned out to be for nothing -The sequence with Thumper walking through the carnival acting all macho and menacing, scaring people with a stuffed snake. A STUFFED SNAKE PEOPLE!! -the clunky way the continuity crack was thrown at us -the expo filled ending -Weevil and Veronica? No, just...no. Okay enough with that. Throwing those out of the wayside, onto the happy... Things I loved:-That Logan playing Dr. Griffiths daughter for info. Such a great 'Gotcha!' moment. 'OH, YEA. He's the jackass.' LOVED that he's still pursuing his case with or without Weevil. Or Veronica, for that matter. Self-scheming Logan is always good.... --But what did I like of Jackie? This was her sixth ep and we saw her layers appear from the sins of her father. Hey, sounds like? LOGAN! I did however love how the ducking stool scene was played like her own Shelley Pomroy party. She did it anyway to prove something, to prove they couldn’t hurt her, and as a result, was subjected to that scorn all night. Kinda loved that. Along with the water metaphors that accompanied it. We haven’t had nearly enough water metaphors this year… -Cassidy and Mac! How much more adorable yet not annoying could they be? So insane how perfect they work. Loved their mocking the escort service website later. Hehe. MacCass mock is fun. And I'm really loving Mac's hair this year. -And Cassidy getting back at his brother! The shot of them holding up those lighters was positively hilarious! And I loved how calm and cool Cass was when Dick went to pummel him. Just as easy, “You hit me and you’ll suffer worse. Remember Sally?”. So nicely done there. I guess we’ll find out about Sally soon. -Keith all fangirling over Cook. RICO is the man. The end. He totally saved me from all my irrational moments coming from those Carnival scenes. -"It is not easy being a fan." Did anyone else get hit hard with that one? *gulp* -Madison’s Hair! It was so flippy! Loved it! And seeing Madison in general was fun. Hey, you know those evil smiling clowns that run around stabbing people while laughing? I've decided, that's Madison. -Wallace and Jane. Okay so Jane is about as flat as Hannah is, but Wallace being happy I can stand. Loved his take with the crowd and Jackie. -More CYNICAL VERONICA!! “Two by two. Apparently you can only enter the carnival as if it were the ark.” -Ah-ha! And the Fitzs are involved again… -The Champ in full form. With RICO. -That glitter helped solve the mystery. Come on! You know that was cool! -Continuity Crack: Even if they were slapped down on the table rudely in front of us... - 107 Mr. Daniels Car - Mr. Pope reference - Corny...laughing! Always fun... - Clemmons!! How much did I love that he listened to Veronica? Great, great stuff... - Tritons. Bringing back the actual guy in the pictures for that? That was slick, even if the actualness was heavyhanded... - Cora - Too bad she didn't have more of a purpose here, but it was nice to see her again...

I really think you can make this whole season about green. Money, property(land), greed, even jealousy. We've seen it all, in spades. And I kinda love that. As far as the red goes, I'm suspicious. Because I've been reading multiple eps sides that tell extras not to wear any red. As if, when they do ues red, it will be important. And so I'm keeping my eye out for red. Especially when you go back last year and see the red significances used in the background. I think it just might be important...

Can you give some examples of how red was used last season and what it signified? Well, red last year was tied with blood, murder. I had had a list of all the red importance but it was on my computer when it crashed so bye, bye to that and everything else there I lost. Yes, I'm still crying over it. But some examples were the flower usages. Go back to all the times we were in the Echolls mansion. Almost everytime there were white (in MAD I remember them being lilies) and red flowers in view. The big one is in AEFC. Yes, I know, Christmas, red. But by having the Echolls throw a Christmas party, it gives the opportunity to drape the whole house in red. Quite significant. And then, when you survey the party, the guests, not one person is in red. Everyone is dressed in black. EXCEPT Lynn. Who two episodes later will be dead. Who else do we see red on? Aaron, when he gets stabbed, has blood all over his hands. Creates quite a lovely image of meaning. And ah, there's a bunch more but you get the idea...

My review is off to Spring. Took a little longer than anticipated because I had company (Mom came up for my birthday) but I finally got it finished tonight. It's a little long but, hey, there was a lot packed into this episode!

I think it just might be important... Aww, and I took the color stuff out of my review because it was already insanely long. Hmmm. Are you reading epi sides after the episode airs? There was quite a bit of red in this episode but usually on people we know rather than extras... - Ms. Hauser wore a maroon turtle-neck. We should have known she was guilty! - Ophelia's balloon was red. Again with the signs! - Jackie's hat is also red. - As is Hannah's vest and shirt. (All of the girls working at the Leap Frog booth were wearing red.) There was a lot of green in this episode but I'm not sure it means anything. The Pep Squad girls were wearing it because it's a Neptune High color. Veronica's jacket is just a matter of continuity I think... unless it's meant to draw some parallels between her and Logan. They do some interesting matching of color to temp in this episode. Logan wants anything that will turn his tongue blue but that comes right after he tells Veronica she had him at ice cold. Later Madison comments that Jackie is almost turning blue from all her dunks in the tank. So, again, it's associated with coldness. Meanwhile, Hannah is wearing read and associated with pink, a warmer color. Seems fitting as she shares cotton candy with Logan which is actually heated/melted candy ... you know, as opposed to that ice cold sugar water that Veronica provides. I like it even better that when Logan and Hannah are drinking slushies, he still has a blue slushie and she has a red one. Ok, ok, I'll stop. Just had to put that stuff somewhere since I didn't include it in the review.

I'm not going back to quote the post where we were talking about Logan and his comment to Hannah about Dick working the slushie booth but I think I sorta figured that out while working on my review.
It's a set up so that later Logan can call their day a "date". When they are sitting in the Bounce House with their slushies in hand, he tells her that he's pretty sure it fits the definition of a date since he won her a stuffed animal and bought her a drink.
I think his comment about Dick being all about the Royals is just a reference to the fact that Dick is one of Neptune High's social "royalty" and nothing more than that. However, it does turn out to be funny for the audience since we hear that Dick is all about the Royals and then we see him disappear into the back seat with a drag queen.

Bring back the actual guy in the pictures. It's a different guy... they just photoshopped the pictures to make it look like it was him.
