Yes, this type of scenario has been done before. (I mean, really how many even remotely realistic possibilities are there for keeping two people apart. Can't say I like sudden amnesia, develpment of split personality, plane crashes on desserted islands or the appearance of heretofore unknown 12 year olds as any preferable reasons). Hee! OK, true enough. Ack! Bite your tongue, woman! True Love Waits? ;D

Chlamydia?! Does such an announcement ever really happen over the school PA? Like father, like daughter, eh? So, if the question is if Duncan slept with Kendall, then Logan and Kendall et alwould possibly have chalmydia as well. If not, then who passed it on? **nods** If it was Meg, then there's some real ugliness underneath all this. I can't decide now if the Incorporation was just something to make us keep our eyes on Woody but it won't actually be tied to the crash or not. I mean, voted down now - yes. But that doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't a motive back at the time of the bombing. That was very disturbing/thought-provoking, wasn't it? So funny! So much love for Veronica in those moments! Such fab lines!! Oh, Madison, you are just so easy! Easy to tease. ;D Yeah. Things are just as creepy as Meg said. Ewwwww! I have very not-good feelings about all this stuff with the Mannings and Lucky and Woody and . . . . bleargh! Kendall's slipperier than a greased weasel! Um. That didn't sound quite . . . *Ears perk* Sounded fine to me..... *wanders off to Happy Psycho-Bad-gal-lust Place*

Okay.
We've spent the whole morning (and one hour of the afternoon) on this episode--watching it for the second time, reading all the posts and discussing it endlessly. So here's the results of our thinking.
(Thanks for all the interesting insights, and especially for the Bubbly Hot Tub o' Angst)
Have just a couple of things to say, and they relate to how "nothing happens without a reason."
At the Alterna-Prom, we are reminded of the party where Veronica was ruffied and raped. She couldn't remember things that happened even before she was drugged.
Madison is literally "in bed" with Lamb. (Can we say Funniest Snarking Ever about V to Madison?) AND, she could NOT have come stag to the party without a reason--it risks her rep as a Top Hottie.
Logan broke it off with Kendall, including insults. There is reason to believe that he was drugged and woke up next to Kendall without knowing how they got there together. And Kendall is certainly not the type to forget an insult, so she's there only because of some agenda. Some eeeeeeevil agenda.
And I thought Veronica's expression as she realized what was happening was an amazing mixture of hurt, anger and deep disappointment--in herself for believing him, and in him for being so ... Logan.
And my second idea about the "nothing happens without a reason" :
I think we saw Wallace and Jackie making love (shall we call them Wackie?) so that there would be NO DOUBT that they did so.
We don't know if Kendall and Duncan did. We don't know if Kendall and Logan did (that time, anyway). And we don't know if Meg did with anyone but Duncan.
But there's no doubt about Wackie--and I think there's a reason for that, even if it's just to underscore all we don't know.
And with all the real estate stuff and the probable incest, this season is SO "Chinatown."

(And the corollary----will either he or Veronica ever realize it?) I've never seen Chincatown (I really dislike Jack Nicolson fairly intensely)---except bits and pieces---which creeped me out so I'm not able to really draw the parallel there. Good thoughts!

Anyone aware that the "Open Case" review site is consistently listed in the "External Links" section of every page that references Veronica Mars on Wikipedia? Congratulations gang, especially Spring and Sue, we are Wiki-licious!
And um... Sue? "Chincatown" was a typo, right? #kissy#

And it's even more parallelly if you add in last years's "she's my sister - she's my girlfriend - she's my sister - she's my girlfriend" stuff. I really like your thoughts about the double meaning for seeing Wallace and Jackie together. Because it could be important to question a lot of "who really had sex with who" this season. Did Kendall really have sex with Logan this time? Who did Veronica have sex with to give her an STD? Who did Duncan have sex with? Meg? Etc., etc., etc.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one willing to give Logan the benefit of the doubt on this one. What a great way for not-Kendall to get back at Logan and Veronica both in one go. The LoVe thing, tho'...it's like an AU-everyone's-human BtVS fanfic: Buffy and Spike go to Neptune High. ****WARNING: PITY PARTY AHEAD**** Stop now if you don't want to read it. I'll understand. Being a 'shipper aint easy. Will I never learn? Mulder & Scully, Buffy & Spike, John & Aeryn, now LoVe. I'm such a glutton for punishment! Plus, I once again found myself yelling "BASTARDS!!" at the TV as the screen went dark. Why can't I just watch American Idol and The King of Queens like a normal person? Instead, I must torture myself with twisty plots and doomed romance. It's head examination time again. ****RANT**** If my (sorta) local UPN affiliate preempts VM again this week for some @#*! baseball game, I will have to do some serious damage.

If only you were a fan of the "ordinary" shows, there would be so much less angst. But would it really be worth it? Isn't that where the fire comes from? Can a nice, safe relationship TV show be that intense? I know it's nuts, but part of me believes that real love and passion have to go hand in hand with pain and fighting. Wait a minute. I wonder where I get that from? ;D Seriously. I think that great drama/comedy comes from great writing and intense, realistic characters. They draw you in, make the story come alive. And you can't live in an alive and passionately true story without risking the pain. Plus, preempting? Is the spawn of TFE!!

Spring! Thank you for the review!
!!!!!!!!!! (just getting rid of a few extra exclamation points to make room for all the ideas and questions)
I'm particularly squicked by Daddy Manning having pushed Meg towards Lucky--the Good Christian Young Man (and sufferer of severe PTSD and what appears to be brain damage from the blast that injured his side). Why would he do that?
Yes they are certainly doing the overload on the questions, and whether I watch the show next year or not will have entirely to do with if and how they answer them.
Or will it?
