I've re-tried to send my pictures to you one at a time, and they keep getting thrown back - same message as before, the receiving site is full or some such. I wanted to get them on the site quickly, but I'm going to wait for your instructions, sir, and meanwhile I'll tidy up PART 1 of my Con report and see if your email address will accept THAT.

Laura,
I'm with you on the whole "not processing all the implications" yet. There was so much tied into "Buffy" IMO - not necessarily obvious shout-outs but subtle similarities. Connor's speech, "power" and some others that I can't think of right now. I'm just shocked that these events are not even warranted a mention over on "Buffy" - as much as both shows are subtly (and sometimes not so subtly) referencing each other, I'm surprised "Buffy" hasn't mentioned, oh, I don't know...the APOCALYPSE in L.A.!!
I'm going to have to watch the episode again to process it all. Hopefully, I can post something more coherent tomorrow.
When Vlad forwards your email to me, I will respond right back. I'd love to compare war stories!

Rob: I think we're going to get what we always get with BtVS - i.e., the same thing the real world gives us - some joy, some sadness. Like the real world, BtVS isn't about what's fair or what we wish would happen.
But it's not all doom and gloom and darkness. We'll get good with the bad; we'll get bad with the good.

Ok, wanted to run to the grocery store real quick and pick up a few items, I like it when the place is empty at night. So I'm getting into the mix a little late. But I'm still commenting before I read anything else, just because these are my thoughts and before I speak I don't want to be influenced by anyone else.
THINGS I LIKED ….
Connor’s monologue with Cordy – It was sorta cool getting the insight into Connor’s head, not just about Jasmine but about pretty much everything that’s ever happened to him. His whole life has been a lie, beginning with Holtz making him believe his father was a killer, etc., but like he said, Jasmine’s lie just looked better than the others. It was an odd reasoning, but coming from him, it made sense. That was a powerful moment. And now that he killed Jasmine, it will be interesting to see how that storyline plays out.
The bitch is back – I already knew about Lilah’s return. Someone on here commented that they were lamenting the loss of Wolfram & Hart, and it was so hard for me to keep my mouth shut about her coming back. And the promos for next week look as if she’s not alone – the whole W&H team will be back in action. But instead if taking on Angel Investigations, they’re being asked to join up, at least that’s how it looked. I’m just figuring Angel’s windows are UV tinted or something, which is why he didn’t catch fire when she pulled the shades back. Anyhow, Holland Manners once told Angel that his contract with Wolfram & Hart didn’t end at his death; looks as if that’s the case for the entire W&H team. Great having them back.
Bringing the head back – that was so cool when Angel thought to sever that thing’s head and then remove the cords at just the right moment. Heck of a moment.
Jasmine – OK, maybe she isn’t evil after all. Considering her speech about there being no absolutes, and then the way Lilah shows up and makes the comments about destroying world peace, I’m wondering if Jasmine wasn’t some all-powerful being who was doing what she thought she had to in order to save the world. I’m not suggesting she’s all good. But now I’m thinking her parallel might not be to TFE but instead to Inca Mummy Girl, who only wanted to live but had to kill to do it. Inca Mummy Girl is one of the hardest of Buffy’s adversaries to hate (along with April, Warren’s robotic girlfriend) because she wasn’t inherently evil, she just got a raw deal and did what she had to in order to survive. I’m starting to think that perhaps that’s the way Jasmine saw it too, that she was more or less straight-up with Angel all along about her intentions.
That would also solve the question about why it would be that Jasmine and TFE aren’t working together – Jasmine wasn’t trying to bring about the apocalypse, at least not the end of the world but instead the end of evil. It would explain why The Beast went after Wolfram & Hart, and why they are now back in her wake – THEY are the minions of evil, the agents of TFE if you will. Jasmine was one of the Powers That Be, albeit a rogue.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE …
Stephanie Romanov’s name in the opener. She’s only in the last minute or so, and even then it’s supposed to be a big surprise when Angel hears her voice. So why not save her name and credit it at the end instead of the beginning? For the unspoiled, I know there had to be a few that asked, “What the …. Isn’t she dead?” Also really surprising since Joss is so much about guarding his surprises until the last possible second, to go and give this one away a full hour ahead.

Boy, I was just having a ball just reading and talking away, and then I come across Alexandra's note that there's a new board and realize nobody is listening. Okay, not the first time that's happened -- well, it was the first time in cyberspace. Oh well.
Anyhow, someone on the other board mentioned that they don't watch Angel so they hadn't seen Buffy and Faith's interaction from "Sanctuary" which was the last time the two of them were together before Faith went to prison. For anyone who hasn't seen it, I posted a synopsis (not an analysis like Spring does, just a synopsis) of the episode on the other board (pt. 21), focusing on Buffy and Faith's interactions, hoping to enlighten anyone confused on where they now stand.

Lee, sounds as if you and I were seeing eye-to-eye on this episode in a lot of things. The scene in the church with Connor, so powerful and moving, although unlike you I don't hate him. Only BtVS character I've ever really hated is Caleb, but then if you read my previous posts on how I would love to see Willow handle him (and Xander as an audience), you already knew that.
I can deal with Connor, same as Dawn. They're ordinary, non-slayer teenagers. Of course they're annoying as hell. And I sorta knew all the stuff Connor said tonight, which is partly why I've always tolerated him, but hearing him say it really confirmed my hypothesis of where he's been coming from.
And, I too was singing Elton John when Lilah showed up. Heck, I was singing it as soon as Stephanie's name showed up in the credits roll.

I am beat! Off to bed now. Long day at work tomorrow - I'm way behind on a motion that I am supposed to be working on. I brought work home tonight and haven't really worked on it a lot. I probably should work on it some before I go to bed....but I DON'T WANNA!!!
***scrunches face up, curls hands into fists*** DON'T WANNA, DON'T WANNA, DON'T WANNA!!!
Well, nice to see the five year-old in me can still rear her ugly head!

I'm afraid to go to bed. Last time I gave up and went to bed at a reasonable hour, and when I logged on, there were 10 PAGES to sort through. So now I stay up and nobody's talking.
You people can be so cruel sometimes ....
Of course, you do know I still love you. And sometimes, cruel can be a good thing. Just ask Vamp Willow.
"Spank me, pinch me, make me write bad checks ..." (Not a Vamp Willow quote, by the way).

David, I have LOVED your posts on Caleb and how you want Willow to deal with him - I got great humor out of your posts. Like I asked Patti about her earlier comment about Connor (she's on the same page as me about Connor) - does laughing at things like that make me serial killerish? Or should I say, is my sense of humor serial killerish?
Since you and I have discussed next week's episode of "Angel" and now what is going to happen, I can't wait to see how it plays out! I'll be very interested to see it on screen. My interpretation of scenes could be completely different once I see it on screen.
I kinda was surprised that the WB showed as much as they did but as soon as I thought that, I reminded myself that this is the WB and they would probably reveal who Deep Throat was if it meant they could mind f*#k their audience!

I forgot that I taped "The Bachelor" - yes, I'm addicted to that show. Bite me! :-)
I have to see who Andrew "Lacks a Spine and Relys on Everyone's Judgment but His Own" Firestone picks to move on - if he picks Christina, I will scream!!
And again with the extremely off-topic post.
Uh....Buffy rules!!!

Spring, you made me feel a little better. I appreciate the thought. My moods get so dark lately when I read depressing scenarios that basically tell me that Buffy's friendships were useless.
The people who love her mean nothing if she dies alone. What was all the fighting and pain for if there's no reward for them and for us?
I realize it's unrealistic to have everyone happy ever after. Life doesn't work that way.
For whatever reason, when it comes to these characters I want the unreal to happen. I want them as happy as they can possibly be...and together.
Corny, I know. I can't help it.

There's a reason why they call them teasers.
I try not to get too wrapped around the axle about teasers. I remember being a Star Trek fan and always finding it interesting that the teaser never agreed with the TV Guide synopsis of next week's episode, and it was usually TV Guide that got it right. The teasers often do a great job of highlighting the most bizarre things; rarely do they out and out lie, but they might show a clip of one thing while talking about something else, like the clip of Angel and Fred kissing while the announcer makes references to Angel turning to his only ally -- the kiss did happen and Angel did turn to his one Ally, Fred, but the two really didn't have a lot to do with one another.
I do know a little about what happens next week, and it's sort of bizarre watching the teaser and knowing stuff -- I feel like I was watching through the trailer, seeing the images and trying to piece them into my mind where they fit in with what I already know. Same thing with the Buffy teasers for next week. Some of it was realistic, some was played up for effect.
In a way, teasers to me don't count as spoilers because they so often are designed to arouse and mislead, their sole intent to get me to tune in next week because what they hinted at is too bizarre (and after having seen a zillion of these things, probably won't happen at all).

Rob, my friend, I hear you. And my advice to you is from now on, avoid any Joss Whedon-produced show at all costs. Or anything produced by anyone who's ever tutored under Joss. Because these people seem to really hate happy endings for their characters.
In that sense, these are just not good people, Rob. Very much serial killer types. If they weren't coming up with storylines that involved inflicting so much pain on their characters, they'd probably spend their off hours torchuring puppies just for the fun of it.
For happy endings, I suggest 7th Heaven or The Gilmore Girls. Law & Order, too, since they almost always put the bad guy away. But not Mutant Enemy -- those people are geniuses, sure, but they are sick, demented geniuses as well. Because they hate happy endings.
