Regarding edit buttons, hate to break it to anyone but I run the newest version of MSIE available, and I think I saw an edit button once about six months ago. Those critters are harder to spot than leprechans.

It's raining, it's cold, I'm bored. So.. if Spike goes over to Angel what would he do/be, do/be, do?
Would they have to kill off some cast to make room?
Is Angel going to Shanshu so Spike can be the resident Vampire?

Good question, Lee. Everyone seems to have lives tonight, what's up with that?
And to boot, we're only slightly more than 400 posts from surpassing the episode board. Another night like last Friday and we'd probably pull into first place this weekend.

I'm a huge Winnie the Pooh fan - I love all the characters but the one that holds the most special place in my heart? Why, that would be the title character.
I love Pooh's Grand Adventure - The Search for Christopher Robin. It's got one of my favorite Pooh quotes (although it is actually said by Christopher Robin):
"If ever there's a tomorrow when we are not together, there's something you must remember: you're braver than you believe and you're stronger than you think and you're smarter than you think. But the most important thing is even if we're apart, we'll always be together. I'll always be with you."
Ahhh...Winnie the Pooh. Such a great character! As are all the other characters from the 100 Acre Woods.

word from Patti's JM convention report, Rusty, is that if they were to bring Spike over, a member of Angel's cast must die first, since they can't afford to add him as a regular and keep everyone else at their current salaries. And he's made it a point that if they do add him it will be as a regular, because of keeping his schedule open, having to keep his hair dyed, etc.
I don't foresee Angel shanshuing, because it is his show. The writers might be able to pull it off, but I just can't imagine their being a reason for it to be his show if he isn't the central champion, and he wouldn't be the champion without his vampiric powers.
I don't think I want to see Spike shanshu because Spike still seems to be having a lot of fun as a vampire. He doesn't seem desiring to become human. Angel lamented being a vampire even before he discovered the shanshu prophesy and realized he might have an option. For Spike, shanshuing would almost be a punishment, because he's still superstrong, still immortal ... he's still got all the cool parts of being a vampire intact, and with the chip out, he can have fun again.
As much as I like Spike, I think the writers might find it a challenge to have a show featuring two vampires with souls and finding ways to distinguish them enough that they come across each as having a reason for being on the show. I point to Anya -- she was great when she and Xander were sort of a comedy tag-team working in tandem, but following the wedding walk-out, except for a few eps focusing on her as a vengeance demon, she's essentially just a wisecracker -- which the Scoobies have already had since season 1 in Xander. She doesn't have her own identity on her own, and often it feels as if, why is she even there. Andrew doesn't help her situation either, because he's also a lot there for comedy relief -- and Anya gets lost between him and Xander.
Over on Angel, as it stands, each character is unique and has their own place. Wesley and Fred might both be brainy, but his is more serious whereas hers is quite quirky, defining them both. Angel and Gunn are both champions, but even there it's different as each has their own identity. Cordelia was the wise-cracking bitch, but that mantle -- well, the wisecrack part -- has been passed to Lorne, although I do miss the wisecracking bitch and wish we could have more of the old Cordelia, but I digress.
Spike on Angel as a regular, I'm just trying to imagine it and all I can think of is I'm glad I'm not on that writing team. Then again, they've impressed me in the past. I do think Spike could be an interesting semi-regular, sort of like Lorne in his earlier appearances, but James already said no and I respect his reasons.

I will always love Eeyore. I'm not sure why. There's just something in the way he looks at things that I find interesting. In the way he appreciates things. His two best lines:
"It's not much of a tail, but I'm sorta attached to it."
"Thanks for noticing me."

I read that Vulkon report on slayage.com and JM was of the opinion that in order for him to come aboard "Angel" then some current cast members would have to go since they have a set budget for the show.
I hope that Spike does join "Angel" - I know there are some that wouldn't really want to see this happen and they make good points. My reasoning for wanting Spike to join "Angel" basically boils down to: I want Spike. I don't care where he is, whether he's a vampire or shanshued, whatever. Doesn't matter to me - I just cannot stand to think about the possibility that I will not get to see JM/Spike on a regular basis.
As to who should leave the current cast of "Angel"? Well, no surprise here that my first vote goes to....CONNOR, otherwise known as the punk who has f*@ked up everything he touches! I'm sorry, that was really harsh of me. He's gone through a lot and my hatred isn't as intense as it used to be but I would not shed a tear if he left. Though I have to admit, the actor who portrays him does a WONDERFUL job!
Second to go - Cordelia, or at least, the current whack-job Cordelia. If the writers could promise that she would return to the Cordelia of old (St. Cordy? Puh-lease!!!) then I would be happy. If she's going to go back to her...whatever the hell she's been lately...KILL HER OFF!! Get rid of her and bring on Spike!
Hmm...I think I would bump Lorne back down to recurring status. I love Lorne but it seems as if lately (especially since becoming a regular) he hasn't served much purpose. I would rather have limited Lorne that was the kick-ass Lorne of old instead of the Lorne that is now basically used as scenery.
The WB better renew "Angel"!!!

Saw a woman once in an Eeyore jacket, and considered proposing marriage. I figured anyone cool enough to be wearing an Eeyore jacket instead of Pooh or Tigger (nothing wrong with them, but EVERYONE goes straight for Pooh or Tigger) has got to be quite interesting.
I didn't propose, by the way. Something about getting a restraining order placed on me just didn't strike my fancy .... Or having her significant other introduce himself ....

I keep trying to imagine fitting him in as anything else than a villain or an appearnce every once and awhile.
I would think DB would be threatened by him coming on board because of his following.
Even if say Cordelia goes away becz she has the new baby, or Gunn dies, I just can't Imagine it.
Spike and Nathan Fillon might make a good team but, of course, not with him as Caleb and not on Angel.

Lorne needs to get his club back or something. You're right, he just doesn't have a purpose now. And yes, Connor can go away...far, far away. Perhaps military school in another hell dimension?

David asked: //Everyone seems to have lives tonight, what's up with that?// Seriously, what IS up with that? Don't they know that the party is here? I hope the board is a-rockin' tonight - I hated missing out on all the fun over the weekends since I only had computer access at work. Somehow, adding a comment two days after the fact just really didn't cut it. Alright S'cubies - come out, come out wherever your are! -Lee Hollins

I agree with the majority of your points. First off, I'm still trying to figure out why they made Andy Hallett a regular, and I don't just mean his recent addition to the cast. I sort of liked Lorne best when he showed up rather infrequently, ala Kate Lockley in the first two seasons, or Giles for the last two years of Buffy. The more he's around, the less special he is. I've heard the same thing said about Faith, she's liked even more because she doesn't come on all that often. I love Andy Hallett's portrayal of Lorne, but he's not a warrior, he's not research guy -- there just doesn't seem much reason for him to be a regular member of the Angel Investigations team.
Ever since Cordelia came back from her liaison with Groo, she has been intolerable. There was a big deal made last season about her needing time off, and that's why her off-camera liaison with Groo happened off-camera; I hope Charisma wasn't getting tired of being the goofy bitchy Cordy who everyone loved so much. Heck, I loved Cordelia ever since she was on Buffy, she was a likable bitch. Her best moment was the bitch-off with Lilah, which for me reigns as one of the best ever Angel scenes, in easily the best ever Angel episode "Billy". But I hate her now. If it was Charisma that lobbied for the change and she refuses to go back, ME needs to kill her off quick. The fans want the old Cordy, or we want Cordy to go away. And please oh please oh please -- no Angel-Cordelia pairing, just forget all about that. They need to take a page from Willow and Xander and just be the very best of friends regardless of gender.
Some fans seem to hate Fred. I love Fred. She's an enigma. One second she's a scatterbrain, but the next she's holding a Beretta 9mm aimed at Cordelia's head like a pro, with a look in her eye that says, "Don't move or you are seriously dead." She's so sweet, but she has so much backbone. The conversation she had with Angel about not being a champion and him telling her he saw a champion in her -- that scene so summed up Fred. I'm not ready to see Fred go, I think there's a lot of story there yet to be explored.
There's a lot of story left to be explored in Gunn, too. He's street, but he's not stupid. I could see why Faith liked him so much, those two are cut from the same cloth. Only difference is, Gunn was forced into responsibility early because he wanted to protect his sister from the vampires, Faith spent most of her life being abandoned and so she only looked out for herself, but they're both survivors. I'm not sure I like Gunn and Fred together -- her brainy side I just see happier with Wesley, were they can talk smart stuff; Gunn's not stupid, but he doesn't have the education to compete with that. There's a reason Ph.D.s don't marry plumbers, and it isn't because they are beneath them -- it's because, what the heck would they talk about?
The only character left is Connor. I don't hate him, but he is the Dawn of Angel -- the writers brought him in because he was necessary to one storyline, but since that storyline has run it's course, he seems to be dead weight. There could possibly be some story there, same as with Dawn, but the writers don't seem interested in exploring it. So if someone has to die, I agree -- Connor should get the ax.

A new spinoff idea could be Spike and Faith. Not necessarily as lovers. Just that those two characters seemed to have amazing chemistry, possibly because of their rebelous pasts.
Could you imagine a series where the two of them are on bikes across America, mainly trying to escape the law chasing her, and they ride into towns under seige from demonic activity and take it on. Maybe early on they could piss off some demonic overlord who would face them every so often, just to keep a running theme, although that might not be necessary. The slayer and the vampire with the soul, but completely different from Buffy and Angel.
And then another series -- Fred finally gives in to her lesbian tendancies and goes out to find Willow, who's broken up over having accidently fried Kennedy to a crisp. They become lovers and Willow begins teaching Fred the black arts. Then maybe Sabrina the Teenage Witch joins them, and the three go kick the scrawny butts of the Charmed Ones.....

David, I totally agree with your assessment of Cordelia. She has become intolerable - I want to see the Cordelia who could be the Queen Bitch one minute and then heartbreakingly sweet the next. Seeing her in "Spin the Bottle" made me realize how much I love the old Cordelia and how far from favor this "new" Cordelia has fallen.
I definitely do not want to see C/A and not because I'm a B/A 'shipper. I just don't buy those two (C/A) together AT ALL!! They had such a great brother/sister type of relationship - there are too few quality platonic friendships on TV and this WAS one of them. Not everyone has to be paired off. Please, please no more C/A - I want to get back to their earlier friendship!

I vote for Angel with Electro Girl. She could jump start his heart every once and awhile for fun.
I like Lyla and she and Wesley were much better together than any Angel/Lilah stuff.
It's too bad Jasmine didn't actually eat Cordelia.
