I love Winnie the Pooh--but I HATE the Disney version. I much prefer classic Pooh, with its delicate pastels and whimsical, gentle drawings. Disney's Pooh is crass and crude by comparison.
But I did borrow Tigger's song for my Renaissance Faire character, Paddie O'Doors:
Paddies is silly and Paddies is frilly And Paddies is lots of fun But the Best thing about being a Paddie Is that I be the only one!!!
Except, of course, I then prove that I'm not!

David, I don't agree that Spike would have nothing to do on Angel. I see a good three seasons of slowly changing interaction between the two of them.
Whenever Spike and Angel have confronted each other the screen's crackled with the tension between them. There's a HUGE rivalry with lots of wary circling and posturing. There's lots of history between those guys, lots of room for dramatic interplay.
If Spike does move to Angel, it could take an entire season for the two to heal the rifts between them. I can see Angel being a little miffed that there's another souled vampire in town. Think how ruffled Buffy's feathers get around Faith, the OTHER Vampire Slayer. You can't say you can't tell THEM apart, or that the show isn't richer with Faith. There's no confusion between them and the competition adds to the drama.
Once you do work through the two vampires' issues, you then have lots of room for guy bonding. There's a good second season of the "We're past the hating each other phase now, but what the hell do we have in common except a soul?" kind of slow friendship building. I also see Spike's snarkiness and sense of humor mitigating Angel's endless angst. No TRUE happiness, just a lifting of the eternal gloom.
By the time you got to the third season of Spike's presence, you'd have a "buddy show," making Spike into Angel's best friend, a' la Buffy/Willow, with real interdependency between them.
By this time, Dawn comes of age, moves to LA and the rivalry starts all over again.
Or maybe not.

:: I did a search the other day and was surprised by all the fanfic crossing BtVS with Highlander: The Series ... could make for an interesting theatrical movie -- Buffy Summers meets Duncan MacLeod. Duncan could have a run-in with Angel and remember him from his Angelus days. Giles and Wesley could have an interesting time discussing what it means to be a watcher with Joe Dawson. Could be fun.
Wonder if an immortal can be turned into a vampire. ::
I don't think an immortal could turn into a vampire. You have to die to be a vampire, and immortals can't die unless decapitated--and even then, since they're absorbed by the nearest immortal through the quickening (just call me Andrew.)
But I love the idea. Do you suppose Joe Dawson's Watchers are in any way related to or through the Council? As extensive as the Council's reach was, I wouldn't be surprised to find they were different arms of the same organization. Where can these stories be found?

It was a check-in between potty run and going back to bed. Talk about devoted S'cubie-ism.

I think the writers could keep it going for a while just because of the interplay between Angel and Spike. They've got a lot of history, plus they both loved (and had sex with) Buffy. There's got to be some jealousy there on that part. (I'm really anxious to see what Angel thinks about the S/B relationship, past and present (assuming there will BE one in the present).
One thing I'm wondering...what is the prophesy for the Apocolypse Re: the Vampire with a Soul? Does it specifically name Angel, or does it only say "The vampire with a soul"? If so, the vampire in the prophesy could very well be SPIKE, not Angel.

Lee -- Thought I'm not usually one of the Friday night posters, I'm sorry the boards were so tame last night . Having said that, I must admint that I, for one, am glad you guys didn't have a posting party last night. I was (ok, I still am) way behind on the posts for various reasons and it was somewhat of a relief to see the board was calm last night. To Everyone -- You guys are wonderful. I don't know how I got so lucky to find you online. Though I knew this all along, it really hit me again when I read everyone's messages to Diane, Spring, and even me regarding my accident. Thanks to everyone for your thoughtful workds/thoughts about the accident. I'd address you each specifically but, honestly, I'm having a serious short-term memory problem today (I couldn't remember my mother's phone number and I call her every day). Since I don't want to make anyone feel invisible, I'm just saying thanks to everyone all at once. To David -- I love Eeyore. In fact, I have an Eeyore pin on my jacket with my favorite saying of his, "I have my friends." That being said, my favorite Pooh character is actually Piglet. I identify with him and his "issues". Just wanted to show you that some of us don't go straight for Pooh or Tigger. Ok, now I can go back to catching up on posts. Rae Hanson

Rae, I checked, and I don't have your e-mail address; neither are you listed on the SuperScubieSecret page. If you drop me a post, I'll give the the URL of said secret page (Vlad's away for the weekend and can't respond to your request).
My e-mail is on my ScoopMe profile. Just click on my name.

Observation: We've added two new members on our alternate board who are not regular S'cubie posters. Lori del Rossi is a regular Angel poster and Ruth Ng ("R Ng"), who posts less frequently and I can't remember which board. I'm curious as to how they found the board, since I don't remember them posting here.

1) If (or when, I hope), Spike joins Angel, would they call the show "Spangle"? Sorry, it's early and I haven't had my tea yet. 2) If Spike doesn't make the transition, there is another possibility that would at least keep JM on TV - did anyone else see him on Andromeda last season? He was delightful, and he and Kevin Sorbo bounced off each other wonderfully. Just a thought.
Let the weirdness in, RW

To get really geeky here, immortals do die. They just don't stay dead for very long. That's why I wondered if an immortal can be turned into a vampire, and if so, would it last, or when their immortal nature kicked in, would they revert back to being an immortal, or stay a really unstoppable vampire?

Hadn't considered the possibility that the watchers might be arms of a single organization. But then, Giles and Wesley don't have tatoos on their wrists.

Oh, clicked off before answering your query -- I just did a Yahoo search for Buffy and Highlander -- I came up with a list of hundreds of sites, not surprising since their both genre shows, but what surprised me was the amount of crossover fanfic that was mixed in.
There's also Buffy crossed over with nearly every other genre show -- X-Files, Forever Knight, Xena & Hercules ....

The shanshu prophesy never say Angel's name but only mention "The vampire with a soul".

Not all the line breaks cleaned up right, so here's an easier version to read of the Shanshu prophecy:

If one of them gets to be human, my money is on Spike. First, because the show is "Angel" and he needs to continue to work out his destiny. Second, because with the end of Buffy, I think Spike has the best chance of "fulfilling" his destiny. Third, because I think JM could make Spike absolutely fascinating as a vampire returned to humanity (far better than DB). Fourth, because this is Joss' call and Angel wants to be human and possibly Spike does not want it. Fifth, because keeping Angel a vampire allows for Angelus.
But I'm still backing the theory that the finale is going to somehow require that Spike stay a vampire, but lose (or return) his soul to balance out the disturbances surrounding the slayer line.
