Io, by the by, is the chick Zeus was pursuing that turned into a cow. There was something about a cow earlier. And Zeus/Jupiter, of course. Anne asked about meaning of the title and whether/how it was related to the religious concept. I have no answer, but the wiki entry is here. I have no answer either, but another Rapture entry here: Hang each night in Rapture I was thinking about poor D'anna. She only got boxed after her obsession to discover her creator caused her to go against the group. What was the trigger that started that obsession?

Well, I made the mistake of actually watching one of the ads for what I believe is tonight's episode of BSG. At least one of our questions is answered regarding the Cylons. Or, appears to be, anyway. Yeah, I was wondering about that myself. Unless it's a mislead, it's been obvious for a while who was one of the Cylons which that scene seemed to verify. If I'm thinking of the same one you've seen involving slime.

I usually watch previews but don't expect to get spoiled THAT badly or THAT many eps ahead of time. It makes watching the eps between the teaser and the actual reveal, where the mystery is supposed to be part o the storyline, kind of...enh. Unless they wiggle out of it somehow. In which case they're still bastards.

I wanna know what the Final Five look like and I wanna know now!!!! I'm unconvinced that Three actually saw them. She thought she did, but she's an unreliable witness, what with the Messiah complex and everything. All we really know is that she got flashy-thinged and had a vision. The vision might be different for everyone who steps into the light. My question is this: why would a marker purportedly set down by the 13th Colony (who were, we're presuming, humans - humans that all of us on Earth are descended from) have a message for the Cylons? If we're to believe that the signpost was to lead other humans to Earth, and also that what Three saw was really a message intended to reveal something important to a Cylon (or Cylons), then this would be the first documented example of a message meant for BOTH races. Sent by the same "person" or "people", but meant for human and Cylon? Perhaps? If so, it's interesting.

**nods** Growth and adaptation based on each individual's experiences, yes, but also true design . . . deviations. Alternative mapping or something? Perhaps unavoidable due to the complexity of the programming involved? I wonder if getting rid of Three will mess with The Whole. I would think that they all fit together in some fashion and that getting rid of a model, who is part of that whole, would upset the balance of the Cylon race design. Oooh, very good point. Yes, I think it may very well make things even more out of balance, rather than stabilize things as they were hoping.

Meant for both races in the form of the Chosen One - which I think has to be both a Cylon and a human - or in other words - Hera.

Which, if true, calls into question again the "message" that D'anna thought she saw. And who knew, way back when, to send a message to Cylon and Human? Hmm.

Perhaps? If so, it's interesting. The Battlestar Wiki made an interesting point about that: "As the Temple of Five was apparently built for human usage, the Temple may have only allowed the transitional visions that the Threes see to be more persistent and clear. It may never be revealed what Baltar (or another human) would have seen. While Baltar believed Three and actively participated in her quest, both his virtual Six and a Hybrid noted that he, not D'Anna/Three, was intended to use the Temple's imaging mechanism as the "chosen one"." So perhaps D'Anna was human enough to see something, yet because she was a Cylon, and thus still different from a human at the molecular level, she was unable to see the Five exactly as a human would—like she had a form of color-blindness.
