Ok - they're really portraying Roslin as a Nazi-type leader. Her guards behind her, book burning.... Tyrol and Callie's baby is a cute little tyke. Not much fuel left. I guess that's what that pile of sand was. Ha - Adama saying 'Don't be absurd.' to Tyrol's comment about the workers not having a day off for a long time - with a drink in his hand didn't set right with Tyrol. Great scene! Excellent scene. It's the kind of thing we need to see to believe that Chief would break from what Adama wants.

Oooh, so maybe we'll get some humor and some good human interaction? Humor is looking to be in short supply.. Yeah, not so funny so far.

So the non-farmer is gonna lose his hand in saving all their lives getting the belt unjammed?
Oh, just cut bad.
Yeah, I imagine the new recruits are skittish, with no safety training, no safety equipment, and crap that could blow up at any time.
Galen's gonna take a stand. And hopefully force Daddy Adama over to see the Jungle with his own eyes.
And he seizes the means of production and shuts it down himself.
"This plant is off-line!" was fine. "We're on strike!" is NOT. He should have said "Start overhauls!"
Crap.. the hanger bay crews too?
He's forgotten the difference between working in a civilian world, as on New Caprica, and his whole LIFE of military service. But Adama is forgetting that Galen is not a frivolous man.

Thus we see the birth of not only the fascist societies to come, but socialism and the union movement. This is chock full of good stories today. Tyrol is a now more of a hero than Baltar of the book.

Roslin is seriously pissing me off. Right there with ya. I'm beginning to dislike her intensely. At least in this episode. She's becoming despotic.

Adama is in a interesting situation. How do you convince the workers that they are in a state of war, when there isn't any fighting going on?
The excuse of 'war' to keep them all working is not working.

"Welcome to one of my beds." #smirk# Love flirty Adama and Roslin. "Get the gas flowing and then we'll talk." Roslin and Adama are focusing on the danger and state of war (legitimately so) and the workers are focusing on being worked to death (legitimately so). Interesting dilemna. Baltar is writing a book. "My Triumphs, My Mistakes". Pardon me while I laugh myself sick for a bit. More talk about the rich colonies and poor colonies - old issues and feuds from before the original attack. Chief talking about how the union is "gone now". Hmmm. Wasn't Dualla an officer before she married Lee? Or was she . . . I don't remember. Roslin always calls Baltar by his title, but she also isn't gonna be too squeamish about how she gets info from him. They're sabatoging the equipment, but then again, they're using the time to clean and make repairs it looks like. Again with both sides having a point. Everyone is working hard to survive, not just them, but that does basically sound like slave labor. And Roslin and Adam would be more convincing if they weren't dining in relative splendor while making their points. Yeah. Baltar might as well have named his book, "Mein Kampf".

Jesus. Adama is playing more than hardball. I see his point, but he's lost sight of the fact that the people on the ship are human beings.

Okay. This is the Roslin we know. I think she is back. Good. She's reinstated the Union!

"Labor dispute" Adama misunderstands what's going on. "Shoot her as a mutineer" in the starboard bay, Dogtown. Holy god, Adama. When did you become Admiral Cain? Adama, you are destroying the fleet yourself, with these actions. and you have just broken your ties with one of your strongest supporters by using the stick. Yeah, they caved. Caved in. She's gonna divorce him, I'm guessing. A good properly dramatic gesture. And Adama is giving him what he wanted, all the same. This may, MAY save his relationship with them. "Level the playing field" "Allocated to people who... people like yourself" EVERYONE gets a turn at the muck jobs. Good idea. Formal training program and rotation of jobs. So she's treating him like a true Union head. Good. Collective bargaining. Only, what power does a Union have if you can't strike? Okay, so despite the harsh words and the iron fist, there is a velvet glove, as exemplified by Seelix's promotion and acceptance into flight school. This DOES bode well. And Starbuck being a badass is so cool and funny. And then grinning at Chief. Maybe the family can stay intact, after all.

Looks like decent changes were made and are in the works. That's good. We don't need the humans tearing each other apart as Baltar intended. This ought to consign his book to the trash bin.

Poor arrested guy is all PTSD. Chief just wants this done with, but watching him yell "where are the screens" over and over was painful. Chief finally gets the right argument for Roslin to pick up on. They're creating an inherited system. Everyone raises their kids to be what they are, forever and ever? Like the Cylons, where different machines are created for different roles. 'Cuz you're not gonna see a basic front-line troop "toaster" in charge of things, are you? Nope. It's gonna be one of the skin-jobs. Shift work and shipping people in and out, move them around between the different jobs. But, as Chief learns, that's not perfect either. Chief and Baltar discuss things. Funny how everything Baltar says is automatically tainted by it coming from him. He's got some points in there. Well, a couple of them, when you strip away all the excessive hyperbole. But I simply can't take them seriously, coming from Baltar. ;D

I think that she is mainly out to get Baltar. Thank goodness she saw reason with Tyrol. Admiral Adama was scary/then fatherly.

I think Dualla was an officer - on the bridge, before she married Lee. Also - do you suppose Baltar's words to Tyrol - "Do you think anyone without the last name of Adama will every run things?" was prophetic? I think a Helo/Sharon run fleet would be awesome. Helo/Sharon is awesome in any role, but you're right that they would run a very intriguing fleet. And I was wondering the same thing about Baltar's words about the name Adama.
