When Starbuck smiles, sometimes she reminds me of Julia Roberts. /random It's that wide wide mouth and the way she so totally throws herself into a smile.

Talk about your unresolved issues with mommie dearest! Wow! Anyone else reminded of Gray's Anatomy with that scene between Kara and her mother?

They have some nice special effects on this show. But really, I am not following at all, because Kara . . . I just don't know anything about her. Bur I guess I will learn, huh? She seems to be the Chosen One. With an awful lot of baggage to get over.

It's good they made peace before her mother died. I think her mother was waiting for that before she died. I'm not liking Leoban telling her to give up and die.

Kara is heroic to the point of self-destructiveness. Only now I think she's just plain self-destructing. I take it she's been through a lot lately. And in the far past as well. And in the recent past. And everywhere in between. Oy! You hit it right on the nose. Abused as a kid; involved with another of Adama's sons whose death she blames herself for; on the run from genocide with the small remnants of humanity; shot down on a planet, she saved herself by crawling into a living cylon ship and teaching herself how to fly it back; heroically going off on a suicide mission to find an important artifact; trapped for a while on the nuked Caprica where she was captured and her ovaries harvested because the Cylons wanted to grow little baby hybrids; held prisoner on New Caprica and held in a cell by Leoben who mentally tortured her and made her think that a baby had been grown from her stolen eggs but it all turned out to be a lie. Stuff like that. And of course all sorts of love-life anguish, heavy drinking, card playing and general brawling.

He wants her to die so she'll be reborn in a new body. Oh man. I so hope that's not right. I fear it's right. Or, she's lost forever. Shit.
