Whoa! All we got was a dusting! You and Kaylee should go sledding. Can you even imagine what it'd be like to keep her in a sled while it's going downhill? Or maybe you can and that's why you want me to try.

I had a dream last night that my dad got paralyzed. It wasn't about the actual moment when it happened, it was just about the aftermath, him adjusting, meeting his physical therapist/nurse and so forth.
And I also kept waking up every hour or so remembering something else I did wrong during the OSCE yesterday. Good times.

I *blush* remember when Spartacus was first released. That scene was VERY frank for the time. The only other one I can recall that was as blunt (again, for the time) was the scene with Peter O'Toole captured by the Turks in Laurence of Arabia. I was 12 when Spartacus came out (did I REALLY say that?) and it went right over my head. I'm watching SB&S right now. Had to leave work. Not sure all this blood is going to do wonders for my wonky tummy, but it really does illustrate how brutish and brutal life and people were back then. Amazing we made it this far. ;D And, yes, that scene from Lawrence of Arabia was also quite frank. I'm surprised they made it past the censors. Still, great movies do that: make it past the rules to shine. Sorry about your wonky tummy. Wonky tummies suck. They suck like sucky things that blow. The funny thing was, as frank as that scene is--I don't remember any controvery over it. They made a much bigger fuss over Elizabeth Taylor's nude(?) scene in Cleopatra. (The (?) is because she was actually covered by a towel.) Laurence was SO brilliant that I think even the staunchest censor realized that the scene had to be there in order to explain the character's later extreme behavior.

Yeah, that Scottish accent is a bit . . . distracting. There's nothing wrong with his acting. His character is exactly appropriate for the time, place and situation. And the native accent is (or would be) wonderful in other situations (I've seen him in a BBC mystery where he plays an extremely damaged cop and he was amazing!) But to be playing Batiatus, I would think he'd trying another since the correct use of language in Rome was nearly as important as it is in England. Which might also explain why actors portraying Romans not only nearly always use British accents--but use British accents approximately equivalent to the class of Roman they are playing! In contrast, Lucy Lawless never uses her native New Zealand accent for anything she does, and she carries off anything from Xena to the murderer she played on L&O. But with John Hannah you keep expecting to hear William Shatner's voice over, "Beam me up..."

All caught up on Spartacus B&S. I still rank episode 4 (The Pits) as #1 in the gross-out factor olympics. ;D No arguement here.

Did OK at Children Services meeting last night. Felt anxious before, but kept my cool during. May sign up for the classes in March - it can't hurt anything.
My house is definitely not ready but it could be made ready. And me, I'm moving toward ready also - and can't wait for 100% ready now, can I? Would have never even had Vince, that way.
There are a lot of different options and I wrote on the survey that I was open to just about any of them - would want more info and guidance on the best match of need and my abilities.
The hard part, the anxiety and painful feelings involved, is really all around the fact that the whole enterprise is a step toward accepting my son's death and the permanence of his absence in this world - in my world, for the rest of my life.
Very very not fun, but baby steps. Baby steps and S'cubie time, and counselor and family and friends and still doing things for Vince.

Sounds like you have your head in the place you want it to be in and are perking along. Which is always a good thing.

Are you all set, or would you like me to take care of it? I'm home enjoying a snow day, so I've actually got time for a change.
