Thanks, Monnie and Rachael.
Washington and Oregon I've checked. California? Could take days, must get started. And New York...that would rock. I've applied for some places in NYC, but...

I'm expanding the job search. Can someone name a state? All are OK except for Wyoming, Florida, and Virginia...too sparse, too humid, and too grr, respectively. California. Preferably Southern California. My favorite cousin lives in New Mexico, she seems to like it (not that she has a choice, it's where her husband's job is). How about Canada? My brother seems quite happy there. I'd better stop stalling and put away the groceries. My appointment ran forty minutes late , so I decided I might as well run Thursday's errands today. I do wish they'd told me - I could've gotten something else done instead of sitting in that damn dentist chair while my back went out. Then I had to deal with the urgent worried call from my mom about her new checks and if it would be a problem that my name is above hers. Short answer: No. But she needed the longer explanation anyway. I'd LOVE to go to Canada, but they prefer you be Canadian for the majority of academic jobs. Cali's on the list. New Mexico? I'm currently there, and have informed Mom that I can not make it my permanent residence, due to the fact that my hair looks terrible...some weird transition from curly back to straight... Vain. That's me.

Specifically Missoula, Helena, and Butte... well, maybe try Butte last. Julia, Billings is sort of over-done w/cool people, and Bozeman is for more outdoorsy sorts.

Yeah, I'm kind of an indoor girl.

I'm back in internet land. Had a FABULOUS time in Wyoming. I really wish I had some of those James Bond camera glasses, cause some of the scenery when I was driving, especially going across the Laramie Plain, was just so wonderfully awesome; it was almost a spiritual experience (OK, it actually would have been, had I not been driving at the time). The Director of the Wyoming Primary Care Association took me on a tour of Cheyenne and it looks pretty certain that I will be able to shadow at the clinic there this summer. Now, I just need to figure out where I'm going to live and what I'm going to do with my cats. Got a tour of the Family Practice Residency program in Cheyenne too. Chatted a little with some of the Residents and one of them let me shadow him while he did some OMT and he let me palpate the dysfunction too. Elk Mountain was amazing as always. I took some pictures, and I'll post them when I have a chance. Had a great time talking and catching up with my mom's cousin and his wife and I am now stuffed full of my mom's cousin's wife's fabulous cooking. She even made me a carrot cake for my birthday* which I am now contractually obligated to make for my friends at DCOM. I drove through Laramie and Fort Collins on the way southward, and I'm stopping briefly here to check the internets and get some snacks for the rest of the week. I also don't think I will ever live down the fact that when she asked me about my mom's recipe, I said that my mom always got it from the store. Which -It's true! Unless I'm completely forgetting something, in which case my mom will harangue me about that forevermore. But I really don't remember her ever making a cake from scratch, much less a special recipe of hers.

Belated birthday and milestone wishes to everyone.
My luck continues its steady run of bad. I had an accident yesterday. Didn't seem like anything at the time, just a tiny piece of grit flew in my eye. Only it tore a speck scarcely a millimeter big just on the scar left by the LASIK surgery.
I was talking to one of the Admins when I felt it hit me. I instinctively rubbed my eye and I saw it just before I dropped it.
The pain has been very bad and I have to put medicine in every hour. I'm going to see a specialist tomorrow to be sure else nothing happened.
So that little bit of nothing that hit my eye during a simple conversation is now turning into a big something.
I can't read too much so I have little idea what's been happening.
On Friday I'm flying to Florida to see my Dad. I had to cancel last year's trip and I'm going if I have to get a cane and Seeing Eye Dog, so I might not be here much until next Thursday.

Hugs, good vibes, and have a safe trip.

Oh, hey, I could apply to be an online Biology Professor at Liberty University.
Oh, a world of no.

Gosh, I hope he is OK after the tasering, and I hope he is OK in general. I wonder what happened. Did you see the comments after the article. Loads of people defending Xander against the "always annoying" characterization in the article. Good to see. Xander was a terrific character. Am watching Season 3 right now, as I do my exercise biking (watched Amends yesterday), and I am just loving Xander more than ever. Also was really struck again with the similarities in the Spike and Angel stories, as far as "does bad stuff soulless, then comes back with soul, wanting forgiveness" part goes. I LOVE the scene in Amends where Giles goes to get his crossbow before letting Angel in. ASH is fantastic in that scene.
