Well, the last surviving member of the generation above us died today. All our parents, aunts and uncles are now gone. This was Jim's favorite uncle, but he was 93, had serious Alzheimer's and his wife died about a year ago. Interestingly, all of the younger siblings and sibling-in-laws died first. But then his wife and all 6 of her siblings had survived polio when young, with varying degrees of long-term consequences, (in the 20's and early 30's) which probably didn't contribute to longevity. He's being buried with full military honors at Arlington on June 28 (there is a "line"). So we are going, partly to honor him, to see the burial, and to visit with siblings and cousins. Same thing here. My Aunt Connie died last week. Also at 93 and also the last of her siblings. I wanted to go to the funeral yesterday in Connecticut, but found at the last minute that just I couldn't. I'm still reeling from my own loss. Now I feel really shitty about not going. She was a great lady and one of the few adults I felt safe around when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure that's guilt you don't need to take on. Aunt Connie would/(will) understand.

Thanks for the compliments on the opener, guys. I have to admit it's one of my favorite scenes. ;D
I'll read back to see what I missed, now.

Erin: You have all my sympathies for the loss of your father. I hope things went better with others than anticipated. *major big hug for you and your mother, hon*

Thank you all for your good thoughts. My dad was found by a friend on Monday. He went in his sleep. Mom and I flew out to his town yesterday and are taking care of the arrangements, etc. I'm sorry I couldn't say anything before, but I had to inform others who might have reacted poorly. So very sorry, Erin.

Sue and Rich: Sympathies to you and your families. And, Rich, don't be so hard on yourself. That's not guilt you should be carrying. *hugs* Julia: Miserable weather here, too. Better Half, all this walking and slaying of usefuls is making me tired! I think I'll have to go to work just to rest up. ;D Rachael: Just ewwwww. Good thing he has you to set him straight on this. And, for the record, I agree with Spring regarding the unfathomable cuteness of men. ;D Sara: LOL! I love manatees. They're so ugly they're cute. Monnie! You shock me! *well, not really. Enjoy the buzz dear.* I look forward to your tipsy ramblings. ;D

Project Runway!
And the challenge is . . . to design our own textile!! Ooooooh, that is very cool!!
Whoa!! What will our design be?
Multi-colored bats and stakes?
TV's in all different sizes, all intertwined?
Dripping blood, running as stripes over piles of evil candy bars and enchanted beer steins?

Or, we could go with nature - like all sorts of spring plants, just emerging from the ground?
Ooooh! Or underwater! Blue, and brightly colored coral-reef fish!

Jeremy got a vocabulary worksheet to fill out for one of his classes, a question from which was "What is tact?" He sent me a photo of it along with the text message, "You have NO IDEA how much I wanted to say "Not saying true stuff."" I'm so proud!

Excellent! ;D And, yeah, smart decision on his part to not actually emulate Cordy in the classroom.

Let's use this because it is simple and white and I should be able to put designs on it . . . I am thinking of using your "springtime" or "underwater" idea . . . lemme see what I can find . . . see if this inspires any ideas for you:
