Let's use this because it is simple and white and I should be able to put designs on it . . . I am thinking of using your "springtime" or "underwater" idea . . . lemme see what I can find . . . see if this inspires any ideas for you: Excellent choice! The large expanse of skirt should make it easier to turn it into a "print". How about the skirt all blue, then fish added on top, and then the bodice could be lighter blue, with, like, bubbles on it? So, it's like the top of the water, above the fish? Of course, I have no idea if that's even possible! ;D Oh!! Can you just "copy" an image, like of fish underwater or fresh spring plants, and then paste it over the dress? And cut off the edges to make it fit the shape? The flatness and big shapes might look really cool if you did that . . .

Thank you all for your good thoughts. My dad was found by a friend on Monday. He went in his sleep. Mom and I flew out to his town yesterday and are taking care of the arrangements, etc. I'm sorry I couldn't say anything before, but I had to inform others who might have reacted poorly. My thoughts are with you and your family, Erin.

Sue and Rich: Sympathies to you and your families. And, Rich, don't be so hard on yourself. That's not guilt you should be carrying. *hugs* Julia: Miserable weather here, too. Better Half, all this walking and slaying of usefuls is making me tired! I think I'll have to go to work just to rest up. ;D Rachael: Just ewwwww. Good thing he has you to set him straight on this. And, for the record, I agree with Spring regarding the unfathomable cuteness of men. ;D Sara: LOL! I love manatees. They're so ugly they're cute. Monnie! You shock me! *well, not really. Enjoy the buzz dear.* I look forward to your tipsy ramblings. ;D It's hard because it was pushing seventy here yesterday, and because I got a whole lot of work started (three people, infinite complicated projects, thence nothing finished) and today it was just horribly cold and windy and then it started to rain really seriously. So I washed my hair and sulked. Julia, my hair really needed washed, though

Runway! Seth Aaron - OK, I know it's his same "look" again, but the use of color and print does make it a fresher. Also? I tend to love his look, so I love this too. The pants look pretty cool to me, I love the tie and jacket. Jonathan - I like this. It's a pretty, fresh, springy little dress. And I actually like the "backwards" jacket. I think they're gonna savage him over it, but I liked it. Maya - I like this from the front, not as much from the back - I don't think the exposed zipper was the right look to go for here. I really really love her print. I am a bit worried that the textural part, the rather lovely black pleating and so on, might look too static with the rest of the dress . . . Emilio - Well, I like this too. I like the black jacket and the black touches on his dress. The shape is a bit simplistic, but pretty. And, I like his print too. Hell, I've been liking all the prints, really! Mila - I see where she was going with this, and the idea was a good one, actually. The tiny jacket is not my favorite, but I actually like the dress - or rather, the idea of the dress. It is too stiff, though. Too stiff. Anthony - I love his print, and again, I liked the idea of his dress. But I'm not totally sold on the final product - I think I liked it better in it's earlier phases, before he wanted to make it more special. A pretty little basic dress, but the strips look, well, a bit sloppy in construction. And the little shrug is not my fave either. Jay - Oooooh, cool! Again, love the print, love the bright with the black. Love the cat-woman, ninja look of it. Cool! Very cool! Hmmm. Exposed zipper again? **sigh** Posting before the judges speak, to be bold! ;D

Jeremy got a vocabulary worksheet to fill out for one of his classes, a question from which was "What is tact?" He sent me a photo of it along with the text message, "You have NO IDEA how much I wanted to say "Not saying true stuff."" I'm so proud! As indeed you should be! ;D And I think that is a great definition, anyway. Wonder what the teacher would have said.

Alright, what do the judges say? Jay is safe - so, he's basically the middle of the pack. It's always so much more intense when it gets down to this small of a group! Emilio - they love the shape of the coat. Yes, it is a lovely jacket, it really is. Cool! They don't think the dress is too simple, so yay! Print could work small or large. Love the back drape of the jacket (so did I, hon, so did I). Mila - Ooooh, Michael soooo doesn't like the print. Gay serape. Ouch! Well, I may disagree on the print, but they are totally right about the fit/flow. When your model can't walk? Not good. '70's - print doesn't go with the dress. Me, I would have said the jacket/shrug didn't go, but to each their own. Too the easy way out. The sundress that everyone's mom wore in the '70's. Not special. Anthony - Didn't go far enough, seen it many times. Well, yes, I have to agree with them there. And, ouch! They finally hit the wall with his explanations. Amused, yes, but ready to have him just speak more directly about his design and vision. Always an excuse and always the same silhouette. Not adventurous. Seth Aaron - True to himself, wild and crazy, but him. (Yes! And me too, but then I am still a little '80's punk at heart. ;D ) Impeccable (yes, his work is always so well done!) - personality, sharp, adorable, each piece a complete look. Polished, full of ideas. Maya - Brilliant print (yes!), looks like electricity. But then there is the texture, and the neckline, and the hair, which I think Nina things is a bit overkill. Romantic warrier, every angle is intriguing. They like the 3-dimensionality. Can see her in the print - the best print, special and flattering. Jonathan - Jacket is disco straight-jacket and the fabric is a dirty tablecloth. Ouch!! Ouch!! Oh, they're laughing at him. Full on disaster. Kick-pleat is horrid. Hmmm, well, she's right there. Looks dirty. Nina feels sad. Damn. They are just beating up the poor 'lil sweetie. "Is sad not an emotion?" Oy, that was sooo not the thing to say, honey. Too conceptual. So - winner and auf'er is . . . I'd be happy with any of the three as winner, but it is . . . Emilio! Cool!
And they'll auf Jonathan, I'm thinking. Hard to say, though, since they all committed a sin of being dull or not as original. But Jonathan is also "bizarre", so . . . .
Whoa! Anthony! Well, they went with the person being the most "boring" or safe the most amount of times, so I guess I can see that.
Awwww. He's a sweetie, but yeah, he was not going to be a top 3 designer.

OK - fish, and there are supposed to be some bubbles, and of course, she has a goldfish bowl hat . . . Oh, it's so pretty!!! Lovely, lovely, lovely!! And that is a genius touch with the fishbowl hat! I bow down to your skillz and your awesome creative spark, Spring! Merciful Zeus, how did you get that wonderful shading to the skirt, so we can see how the light strikes it and how the fabric flows and . . . Well, it's just glorious, really.
