Happy Birthday, Sue!!
Hope you had a lovely day.
What a rogue. Jim has perfected that expression. Actually, Jim looked a lot like him (35 years ago). Thanks Lola.

Just dropping in to say hi! Was out of town all day at a meeting - but am home and looking forward to my first "not TOTALLY committed" weekend in quite awhile. Whew. I say any weekend during which one does not end up being "committed" is a good one! ;D leftylady ;D

Sounds like a good plan, Sara. She found something to complain about virtually the entire time we were there. She griped when some folks came in with young kids because she figured they'd be noisy. She complained when they did make noise, even though they were pretty good considering their age (and the adults there always immediately made them stop). She grumbled about how her bread came apart when she was eating her BLT. She even bitched that there was too much bacon on the sandwich. WHO COMPLAINS ABOUT AN EXCESS OF BACON? I tried to maintain a steady stream of conversation to keep her complaint opportunities to a minimum, which should tell you how desperate I was, and then did my best to get Greg to do the same so I could finish eating. I'm just thankful that no one came in who was overweight or of another ethnicity—that would have had me feigning illness or setting fire to the table just to get us the hell out of there before she could open her mouth. Longest. Hour. Ever. Yep. Sounds about 10 hrs long. It is hard to be around someone who is so unhappy . . . and so clueless as to why she is so miserable. I always think of people like that as being truly miserable, and likely having good reason for deep unhappiness - but they are unable or unwilling to face the real reason. So they are obssessed with constantly explaining their misery by pointing to external factors, at all times. Their misery is constant, so their search for exernal reasons is constant. That's the way they keep the painful reality, of whatever the internalized cause of their misery is, at bay. I am not a psychologist of any kind, so I must add the disclaimer that this is pure laymen speculation, but that is how it seems to me. It makes it easier for me to accept and understand such folks without feelin anger toward them - but doesn't make it easier to be around them for long.

An-TOOOE-nio! What a guy. Stilled married to Melanie, too, yes? Yes, he is still very much married to Melanie - and happily, too, if public affection is any indication. My friend just returned from a vacation in Mexico where Antonio was filming a commercial (on a black horse!) and Melanie was with him and they looked very happy together. I'll have to have him send me a couple of photos he took of him. He didn't get any photos of Melanie, tho, as she seemed camera shy - although not snottily so. Just private and my friend didn't intrude, although he ate breakfast one morning very near to the couple.

For you...
Thanks, Sara. Wow! I'd love to have these 2 guys over for dinner! (Hugh wouldn't even have to put a shirt on.
HA!! Love it, Sue. Hope you had a great birthday. I saw "How to Train Your Dragon" yesterday in Imax 3D. Wow! I really enjoyed it. I am amazed at how detailed they can get with computer graphics. They are getting closer and closer to making the computer-generated characters nearly indistinguishable from human actors. I went with my sister and her young kids, and they all enjoyed it too.

Finished with taxes. (Well, except for having to put KY return in the mail tomorrow) Ha!
I've never put it off this late before. My dad would KILL KILL KILL me if he knew. So glad I won't have to do this anymore for a while, though of course, the next time I do do it, it will probably be a lot more complicated.
Also, I wish somebody would explain to me the logic behind having to file a return when I know there that's there's nothing owed or refunded. And I had to pay turbo tax $40 to confirm it.
