Happy Birthday, Julia! A bit of poetry in motion for you this day Thank you. Nice swing, don't you think? Julia, seriously: apparently he works as much as he does to pay greens fees. There is indeed a very nice swing to that skirt! Oh. You meant the golf swing. Yes, yes that is nice too.

Cool thing about living in the internet age (because, Lord knows, there is a downside of so much information all the time): I've got the websites for the Dublin airport and the Edinburgh airport both up and can watch flights going from D to E. I just don't know if Allie is flying Aer Lingus which just landed at 7 pm local time, or if they are taking Ryanair again (my guess is this since it is cheaper) which isn't due to depart yet and gets in around 10:30. ========================================== In other "breaking news" my nephew had knee surgery yesterday and now has a blood clot (having to balance blood thinners with need to not cause bleeding at surgical site) AND catheterization issues. Vibes appreciated. Inappropriate levity: spellcheck wanted to change "catheterization" to "cauterization". Yee-ouch! Yee-ouch is the word! 'Cuz them is quite different, eh? Also, the vibes? Sent forthwith!

Where is Pixi? Seems like she hasn't posted for awhile. She's been around Twitter and LJ, so she's doing fine and stressing about the SPN finale, much like myself. Finales can certainly be knucklebiters, can't they?

I wonder if they'll still be flowering when we go to the Arboretum in a few weeks . . . . So pretty! Gorgeous shots, Sara! Also? Puck and Mercedes singing "That's Why the Lady is a Tramp"? Damn! I loved the duet! I might buy it from iTunes. I totally did not buy them dating, however. I have heard that the actor who plays Puck hates having the faux hawk, so I wonder if this is the last we shall see of it??? I wouldn't buy them dating for reals, but faux-dating to each get something out of it? Yeah, I can see that.

'Cuz that's one nice constellation of pretteh. Good Day For it, and I forgot the Roberts Patrick and Englund, and Lance Henricksen. And Kathy Baker, who I've loved forever, and a bunch of people I'd recognize if I watched more TV in the late eighties and nineties. Julia, amazing what I missed when we had no cable and only three channels of Broadcast TV because of terrain problems

Nice action shots! I miss tree swallows; like bluebirds, the starlings have pretty much knocked them out here; they compete for nest cavities, and the migratories show up after the starlings have all the holes. Evil starlings. Julia, mergansers are fun to watch, aren't they? One of the funniest things I ever saw was a mama Red Breasted teaching her babies to catch sand-fleas in the shallows

Just finished Shadow of the Giant and I have to say that I am firm in my conviction that Julian Delphiki is the most interesting character Orson Scott Card has created: more so than Ender Wiggin, though less iconic in scope.
Other thoughts about Card as a gay author who willingly and wilfully self-derailed as a result of his religious/political beliefs being at odds with his own internal nature, but that's 1.) sorta too epically tragic and frustrating and sad-making to dwell on, and 2.) probably more suited to the open topic thread.
Still, love the man's writing even if I want to grab him by the shoulders and shake him vigorously while screaming "accept yourself, dammit!" for some of his personal views, which act I'm fairly sure would be counterproductive.
