Dude! I would love to be able to get action shots, birds in motion, like you do!

*sigh* Got turned down (as in, not even short-listed for interview) for another job. It's hard to stay positive sometimes.

Huh. NBC has canceled Law & Order, Mercy, Trauma and Heroes. It would be great if these were being replaced by must-see TV, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're all replaced by low quality reality crap.

Mercy also ended with a cascade of cliff-hangers in the last five minutes. Which definitely put it firmly in the soap opera category, and by that I mean I've ruined decades of soap-opera sobriety by watching it, so it's probably good for me that it's gone. It was sort of fun, in a no-fun-at-all-for-the-characters sort of way. Julia, otherwise I'm sort of not involved

I wish we had something here - I do look at our openings sometimes, thinking of you and Rachael . . . but we don't. It's OK to get down sometimes. Just don't stay there.

They actually said that there were candidate who applied who suited better. Which is a rare bit of honesty I would have been happy not to hear.

It's been a day of cleaning and organizing, which always puts me off anyway. Tomorrow I'll get out of the house and do something fun.

Saying that others "suited better" doesn't mean you're bad or lacking, just that you weren't a good fit for that job and probably wouldn't have been happy there.

I was going to post something about this week's episode of Fringe (yes, I still have a few must-watch shows, uncool as that may be ), but I can't form coherent thoughts about it. Suffice it to say that the episode was pretty damn good. Also, the AU Fringe Division reminded me of what I've seen of Torchwood (which is not much), although their logo was pure Buckaroo Banzai.

Thanks, Anne. Who knows? Maybe I'm not a California kind of girl (the job was in Los Angeles). I mean, I'd have to drive or something, and I LOATHE driving.

Saying that others "suited better" doesn't mean you're bad or lacking, just that you weren't a good fit for that job and probably wouldn't have been happy there. So true. I mean "candidate A was better suited" isn't really a commentary on anyone but candidate A. It doesn't say the other candidates were awful, or even "unsuited." Just says that of all the candidates, candidate A was the best fit. Los Angeles you say, Erin? I have been in San Diego twice, and the LA area once, and it's pretty and fantastic to visit. But I do not think I would like to live there. So crowded. So very, very crowded and metropolitan - which is fine for some, but to continue the theme, we are not suited for each other. Maybe you can post a bit more (possibly Admin thread) about what you are looking for and your qualifications and we S'cubes can all keep an eye out for ya?

Message to participants in comment threads everywhere: Saying "Who is she?" doesn't make you look too cool for school. Ever. Thanks ever so. Julia, Ashley Greene, this time, although I still haven't recovered from the guy who was all "who is she" about Eryka Badu Is is okay to say who is she, with no italics? I have a very vague notion that Badu might be a singer (or model)? But no clue who Ashley Greene is -- at least by name alone. But I think you were referring less to actual ignorance (like mine) than to people who actually know who she is but are using the phrase to imply that she's not worthy of being widely known?
