Have a magnificent birthday, Matthew. I wasn't certain what you'd like as a present, so here is Amy Pond (played by Karen Gillan), the companion of Doctor 11. Presumably because that's the number her legs go up to. ;D <snips regretfully, hauls off to Happy Place> <anguishfully snips> <considers snipping, decides to commit sin of leaving it in place...those legs, yowza!> *is dedder than ded* Oh my, Rifff, thank you so much! Amy is just a Scottish delight. AND I WANT TO TALK ABOUT SATURDAY'S EPISODE (HERE ON THE BOARD) BUT I GOTTA WAIT TWO WEEKS! IT BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES!!! ARGH! Hmm. I had been creating UK and US showing threads. I've fallen behind, but I'll do it now.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous shots of the hummingbird - so close and clear and vivid! It's so cute that Kaylee hides behind the sofa - it's like she's watching Dr Who. ;D My kitty has an odd habit of sitting half-way inside my closet when there's a storm. Head-first, but casual, as if she's trying to project an aura of "I'm not nervous about a silly storm or anything, I just happen to be resting here for a moment. La la la."

I did it! The Dollhouse article is off for consideration. We'll see if it's something they'll want. Keep your fingers crossed for me, OK? I did mention that that's why I've not been around much, right? Fingers and toes crossed, how's them apples! ;D

Quiet day. I've been eating a lot of honey as a treat lately, being the only sugar I am able to eat. As a result, I am feeling very Winnie the Poohish today. Well," said Pooh, "what I like best -- " and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.-- Winnie the Pooh, The House at Pooh CornerAnticipation....That's what we need more of around here. Dr. Frank N. Furter said it best: "So come up to the lab And see what's on the slab I see you shiver with an-ti-ci-...
... pationBut maybe the rain Is really to blame So I'll remove the cause ...But not the symtom " ;D Love that song. How d'ya do, I . . . see you've met my . . . faithful handyman He's just a little brought down, because . . . when you knocked, he . . . thought you were the Candy-man.

Sara found a nice place that was equal driving distance for all of us. And even though, for me, that meant that the number of mountain passes I have driven through increased by two last night, I would not have missed it for the world. It was so great to see Michelle and Sara again. I had a lovely, lovely time. Oh, and hey everybody! Oh - I am so envious - how I wish I could have been there. It doesn't look like the travelin' M&Ms will be making it to VT this fall as a group, as we have in the past. But just hearing about this dinner makes me miss VT and you and Sara. M&Ms, we must make a "return to VT" plan, even if it is a year or more out. I miss you all. Indeed! A Vermont must always be in our future! I envy you the trip, Michelle. ;D

Oh, I am so glad you were able to do this! Did you meet up in Montpelier? Where did you eat? Love the story about your sis. Sara found a nice place that was equal driving distance for all of us. I'm recalling your many howls of despair that she wouldn't study, was irresponsible with her assignments and could never, ever, EVER possibly finish high school. Aren't you glad to be wrong on this one? Thanks for the congrats, everybody. Now I have to get her actually into the community college... She's been "accepted", but there's still all the orientation and counselling hoops to jump through, and the worry that classes she needs will be filled or cancelled. There's a lot of that going around, due to the budget cuts. Public ed has taken some serious hits the last few years. Congrats!

What, oh what, has happened to our mojo? Julia, we need to get our mojo working, darn it! This is a good point. We need a strategy around this - what are people up for? Some silly thread or game or . . .? I feel like our collective energy is down. I vote for summer show drinking games! Have a drink whenever you see Michael with a yogurt on Burn Notice. Take a sip every time someone smokes on Mad Men. Down a cold one every time they sing a song on Glee! Why, we could have a swingin' summer! ;D

Just got back from a fantastic dinner with my family and special guests Rich and Sara! The family and I came to Vermont to see a nephew graduate from high school, and luckily Sara and Rich were available to meet for dinner. Hopefully, my family didn't scare them too much... My sister ordered dessert, a chocolate bombe that came with a scoop of ice cream on top. It was very artfully displayed on the plate with little tear droplets of caramel sauce ringing the dessert, so my sister's husband tipped the plate to give my mother a better view of the artistry. The end result being the ice cream went tumbling off the plate and across the table. My sister did a sort of slow motion dive for it, but of course, couldn't get to it in time. Sara had astutely brought her fancy schmancy camera along, and got some great shots of my mom laughing hysterically. I can't wait to see them. Sara is a total sweetheart, and Rich is a charming conversationalist. And I can say without reservation that getting a hug from Rich is like getting a tiny piece of heaven. The evening was so, so nice. Michelle! I just missed you, I'm heading up to VT tomorrow night. Going to go see Rich and hopefully inveigle our friend Kathy into performing our handfasting ceremony for us. Are you going to be up there for the weekend? All the handfasting pieces are coming together - it's so exciting!!
