Ooooh, tapas! Very nummy, although I always end up spending more than I planned. So easy to just "order another plat or two for the group". ;D So, what did you get? And how was it? Oh, it was so easy to overeat. I had beer to start, of course. Horny Goat - Nutcracker Very tasty. We had chicken skewers, fries and dip as one tapa. Scallops with spinich and red peppers. Um....chicken wings and fries. The servings are pretty hefty, but I hear ya - it's easy to order a variety and go overboard. We had hummus and pita and my sister got mushrooms. Probably forgetting something, but we try new ones each time we go in. They were sooooo busy! The girl who opened it is giving her mom's restaurant some competition. Dude, that's an awesome name for a brewing company.

I suspect I may have gotten myself to the point where resting is the only activity I'm up to.
Julia, settled into a temporal hammock, or something.

In case inquiring minds want to know about whether mint and peanut butter go together well or not, I conducted a little experiment. While they're not terrible together, they do seem to cancel each other out so that taste buds totally fail to pick up what makes each flavor special.
Anyway, I finally found some magic shell stuff at a different store, so I'm going to use that instead.

You know that mental model that people always use to explain gravity (which I think originated with either Carl Sagan or David Suzuki, unless they both stole it from Einstein) where there is a rubber sheet with steel balls rolling on it? Well, all of my ball bearings are stuck in the middle with this cannon ball called Winter, which has somehow accidentally gotten magnetized. Or something. Julia, default: butt to chair

Man, I'd forgotten how nice it is to be able to sit upright band feel all lucid and stuff... Now, just to get past the feeling all lucid to actually being lucid....right? Glad you're feeling better! Merry Christmas Eve! Coffee - check. Almond milk - check. Kahlua - check. *scrounge arounds cabinet for fixins for Christmas dinner with the boys tomorrow* Well, I wasn't planning to make my pie crust from scratch this year, but since it looks like I am going to be snowed in today by a steady Christmas snow that's not supposed to let up until later tonight and I am not budging from the house, I'll have plenty of time to make pie crust. No turkey or ham, but I found a nice 3 pound filet in the freezer that will do in a pinch. I was planning to make cheesy potatoes and I have everything but the sour cream and the cream of chicken soup. I have yogurt that can substitute for the sour cream and I think I can improvise the chicken soup part. And there is plenty of fixins for a salad. Ice cream for the pumpkin pie and apple crumble. No veggie tray, but I have tortilla chips and salza and a nut tray that will do for finger food. I think I'm good! *sits back to sip coffee and watch a bit of Dr. Who* Oh - and the birds were flocking outside my kitchen this morning. There were a pair of cardinals, a woodpecker, and a couple of juncos, I think. Wish I had Sarah's skills with the camera. Life is good.

So, Christmas Eve.
I expect I'll be about ready to take a nap this time tomorrow.
Julia, oh, god, time for lunch already, ugh.
