Judging time ... Austin - So dorky it's cool, the high waist makes it a bit more modern, tailored perfectly, but a bit boring. Small town go-to-church. Kara - Comfortable and wearable, but nothing original, several don't think the colors are good, but others like them a lot. Kara gets it for Spring.
Kenley - they like this, simple and chic, like the booties and being one piece, but the polka-dots could have been lined up better. Mondo - they thingk it's got too many directions, too many different decades, goes a bit junior, the pattern is not as flattering. Whoa, they really hate his. Kenley gets it for Summer.
Fall Rami - gorgeous back, they like it better not belted, they don't like the green or drapery around the neck and the shaping on the top. Mila - like the pop of red, they like a cape, like the geometry, chic and wearable. Mila gets it for autumn.
Winter Jerell - Like the way he transformed his bohemian thing, coat is gorgeous, don't like the prominent buttons on the cardigan, love all the touches of things, looks great and true to his style Michael - belt is beautiful, resolves the outfit, don't like the leggings (nasty), more of an ensemble, looks older than the other one, polished and elegant. Jerell gets it for winter.
Winner and loser are Jerell wins! Yay! This was my favorite look, too. Rami is out! Whoa!

Jumping on the Lost Girl wagon - thanks for the heads-up, Lola! Very Buffy-like. And it's got some funny in it. Anyone watching the US Being Human? That's another good SyFy series. Not much funny in it, tho. I checked out Spielberg's "The River" the other night. I guess I will give it at least a few more eps, but it seemed too "Lost" - like to me. Although I am somewhat intrigued with the river, itself. Guess it is supposed to be the Amazon? Mostly I'm just waiting for The Avengers to hit the big screen. Joss was able to have total control over the editing/etc. Yay for more Lost Girl love! Definitely looking forward to The Avengers. JOSS! ;D

Judging! I was amazed. I really thought Austin would go because of the kiss-of-death word "boring" but Rami's really ugly blouse, I guess, was what got him. 'Bye Rami. Shocking indeed!

I didn't like it as well as the Brit version mainly because I thought Sam Witwer was too "neat and pretty" for the vampire role. I did like the other two though. However, this season he's anything but neat--even if he is still to girly-pretty for my taste. He's also a pretty good actor. Sam Huntington as Josh brought me over to this version. He's much better than his whiny British counterpart. I also like the direction this version is taking--away from some of the plot devices I didn't care for in the other.

Lots of family travel this month.
Jim is in Jackson, MI (had to leave house at 4:45 am yesterday and fly thru Baltimore to Detroit. Bleck.)
But yes, I am enjoying house all to myself.
Carolyn flew to DC this morning to be in another wedding. #8 maybe? She has become increasingly resentful of the "wedding-industrial complex" as she sees gobs and gobs of money spent, in this case by a friend who really can't afford it.
I go to Chicago next week and Allie trips home briefly the week after.
It's actually going into the 20's here in the next few days, then back up to mid-60's during the days.
oh and: Vanderbilt women beat arch-rival UTn women. 93 points. Fun ..... except for the part where Pat Summit -- a true giant among women in sports -- is clearly declining rapidly due to early onset Alzheimers. Her assistant did most of the coaching but if I were a 19 year old girl on the team watching my icon fade it would freak me out. Which may explain the fact that UT has fallen out of the top ten for the first time in like 3-4 DECADES.

Hurt all over, bad mood, fingers not cooperating. You're so lucky I don't feel like complaining? Julia, weird PR last night, innit?

Today I tried new food. my mouth didn't like it, my stomach didn't like it, and the whole digestive process is continuing to not like it. *sulks*
I also read a bunch of short stories for the The Short Story unit at college. Because it is actual homework now to read as many shorts as possible. I can either re-read earlier books in the same series, read some of my inherited books I don't think I've touched since I shelved them, or go back and read a lot more Analog. I haven't read Analog for years. They might be falling apart by now. That would be sad. I could also read things that are not science fiction. But not this week.

So, I dropped a petrified blowfish on my foot this morning.
Now my toe is all swollen.
Otherwise, good day at the conference!
