'Speshly me. Mine are (brace yourself) 42 and 40. No. That's just not possible. You're not old enough. Unless... do you have a portrait in your attic, Diane? Uh, yeah. It's an old one of Spike. Why?

I am proud to announce that I have no, zero, not any, chickens in my bathroom, W00T!
Julia, of course I overworked so thoroughly to accomplish that that I had leg cramps all night and got up at the scandalously late hour of 11:30.

I do find they get in the way when one wishes to take a shower.

I got two little netbook computers for the girls because my old laptop has just about "had it," and I didn't want them on mine. The netbooks are identical, so I wanted to get some "skins" so they can tell them apart easily. The computers aren't really "theirs," in that they will remain here for future foster kids, if the girls go home. But for now, they are "theirs." I found that cafepress has a "make your own" skin, so that worked out well. Roxanne made herself a "I love Justin Bieber" skin, and Nicole picked out a already-designed one with a sort of "wolves howling at the moon" motif. I nixed the biker skulls and the playboy bunny stuff (mystifying!) . . . the Beebs and Wolves was as far as I went. My guess is that the biker skulls and stuff are from Ed Hardy's artwork. There is a line of clothing, marketed mostly to teenage girls, believe it or not, that features Hardy's artwork with such precious sayings as "Love kills softly." My cousin's kid loves Ed Hardy stuff and I have a couple of things with much more benign designs on them. Hardy is a tattoo artist whose work gets much attention in the design world. Yes, I know who Ed Hardy is . . . I think it was . . . Anne? . . . who mentioned him once before. But - well who knows. They've been around all kinds o' stuff.

How old are the girls now, Anne? They were children when this board was founded. Emily is 23, Katherine is 19. We're all getting older, aren't we? That is truly amazin'. But then, if we count our time on ScoopMe, aren't we coming up on our . . . is it possible . . . 10th anniversary in late 2012 or early 2012? Buffy Season 7 was 2002 - 2003 wasn't it? And it was during 7 that we started talking on ScoopMe? Do I actually have that right? Seems impossible.

Not as exciting as chickens, but possibly harder to get rid of. I have purchased some Terro syrup. That is about that only think I've ever used that actually worked. Those little . . . ant trap/hotel things they sell at Kroger's never seem to do the job. It's been kind of hard to be sure what is working, because we've had a lot of mixed up weather . . . freezing temps followed immediately thereafter with summery temps . . . so it just might be the cold killing them. But I bought enough of the syrup to fight them all summer. The girls left open candy up in their room when we were gone for a week in Huntsville . . . not good.

No, this was tha abandoned hall bathroom, the one that went from Happy Meal Toys to beard trimming and now needs the drains replaced anyway. Julia, waiting eagerly for TLo to explain tonight's Mad Men to me, since I am all "Bwuh?"

Am off to a Torchwood convention for the weekend. ... as soon as I can stop hiding under a blanket, obviously. It should be fun. It should definitely be more fun than playing clicky computer games all weekend, which was the alternative. I just have to get myself there. ... and I'm back #wavey# that was fun. much dancing. little sleeping or eating. clearly one can survive on party alone hope y'all had good weekends too #grouphug#

Wonderful as always, but I love the clear view of the the woodpecker's feet hangiing on so tightly.

Hello. I am creeping along on something under five hours of sleep, including forty minutes of unconsciousness between 9:30 and some time after 10am this morning when I fell over from the ugh.
Work to do, must keep pushing on, what can I say?
Julia, except that I sincerely need a assistant chickenkeeper.

On Thursday last, I was walking to the market, stopped to watch a hummingbird, and saw it land on a bird of paradise flower. I got photos.
