Sorry to not be responding to the world events of others: Liz's triumph, Diane's sorrow, be's dissertation, Michelle (good link!), Spring's parenting exam, anne and art and cats and mom, Julia and calves, Lola and fashion, etc.
Too caught up in my own: bride and groom on the way here with Jim from the airport and the next 5 days will be WHIRLWIND CITY!
then on the 15th I"m going to try out that new Syfy show: Defiance. and not get dressed for .... well one day. Pulmo Rehab exercise classes start next Tuesday. blergh.

DIANE: You haven’t lost your son. Go about your life as best you can and keep any interactions with him simple and without rancor, no matter how he may try to push your buttons. There can be no guarantees because you can’t control him in any way. You can only create a pleasant, welcoming environment and then be willing (and as ready as you can be) to let the chips fall. SUE: Good luck with everything, especially the pulmo rehab. ALL: Sorry if I 've missed anything exciting; things crazy around here, and TAXES NOT DONE!! OMG, my first year after retirement with some nutty stuff to declare . . . geez.

I have a new computer. Well, I don't have it yet. It's at Best Buy gettingo outfitted for me. Bob got one too. He's busy setting it up and I'm using his laptop. Using somebody else's computer is like trying to work in someone else's kitchen.

Using somebody else's computer is like trying to work in someone else's kitchen. Worse -- I grew up with kitchens for 61 years. You might have to hunt but most gadgets work the same. (Okay, I take that back -- anything run by a computer chip with digital input (like a foreign microwave) can be difficult. but some one else's computer .... sometimes I can't even log on! House quiet, kids still asleep.

House quiet, kids still asleep. Well I finally got my tablet working. When we realized that my laptop (which I bougnt for Ian about 6 months before he died) was teetering on the edge it seemed wise to buy the replacement BEFORE it crashed and lost all my documents, pictures, etc. So I bought a Toshiba all in one. Only right now it and my old laptop are still at Best Buy getting Geek Squadded. The Toyshiba iisn't here yet, Bobs laptop is driving me crazy--so this is the perfect time to get used to the tablet. It's an experience. Good news is it doesn't seem to have the issues the Dell Streak from Tmobile had. The larger screen makes finger fumbling less likely although 10 inches is a lot to ask of my poor thumbs. Bad news is hunt n peck typing is hard on a 50 year speed typist. Ah, the troubles we must bear.

Busy. Also busy. And busy, and sleep deprived.
Julia, and that's the closest I get to interesting stuff today- although hey, Nashville was better than my life last night, at least.

to you Diane. I can only EETA what Erin said. On a happier note, I want to share a picture that Robin Williams tweeted the other day. You all may have heard that he is doing a pilot and Sarah Michelle Gellar plays his daughter. I love that SMG is going the comedic route after the soap-opera-ish show The Ringer. And she looks so darn cute in this pic! PICAwesome! I was just thinking the other day that she needs to get back on TV in a comedy. And with Robin Williams? Wow!

What's the challenge? Head off to another country and be inspired!
Where do we want to go? Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, or London? Hmmmmmm. Decadent Berlin? Elegant Paris? Modern, diverse London? Or vibrant, sophisticated Barcelona?
(FYI: I can't be online for the full 2 hours that PR will be on tonight, but I can be here for the first hour.)

We could do a classic S'cubie over the top killa mega-challenge kind of thing. Like inspired by all 4 cities! A Spanish dancer skirt, with an English palace guardsman's jacket, Parisian beret and kinky black patent leather dominatrix boots from Berlin! ;D
