What's the challenge? Head off to another country and be inspired! Where do we want to go? Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, or London? Hmmmmmm. Decadent Berlin? Elegant Paris? Modern, diverse London? Or vibrant, sophisticated Barcelona? (FYI: I can't be online for the full 2 hours that PR will be on tonight, but I can be here for the first hour.) But Lola, you have to be here. You are the Spirit of S'cubie Fashion! Awwww, gosh! **blushes** You must soldier on without me! Excelsior! Fashion or death!

Oooooh, pick some other location - that's an excellent idea! Sydney .... or Angkor Wat .... or São Paulo .... or Reykjavik! Wait! They're going to the fashion capitals! What we need is a great fashion capital. How about... Stockholm? Where's Spring?

I found a model wearing Swedish fashion but I don't have photoshop. Nice! I like the pink fuzzy sweater. And as i don't think winter is ever going to leave us, it's also very appropriate!

I was so disappointed in Patricia's offering. She had this wonderful idea for the fabric and then created this bizarre silhouette. The model looked like those ladies in Padaung who wear the brass rings to stretch their necks.

I think given more time she can do well; she runs herself out of time and then sees that she needs to change (shapes, usually) and there's not a chance.
I'm glad Layana's out; she's not a fun person to watch. Julia, wishing they'd go back to longer work periods during the regular season

Dissertation hand in is Monday. It is very nearly kind of almost possibly a bit done? Except for 300 words of Abstract. But until Monday everything is about Monday.

Helllllloooooooooo? Anybody home? cricketsJulia, bored of trying to find ways of saying "too busy to talk" I've been on a family expedition to downtown LA to visit The Last Bookstore, followed by Japanese lunch and a little shopping in Little Tokyo. The bookstore is weird and wonderful; there's a labyrinth of cheap books upstairs. Seriously, a labyrinth of bookshelves, how cool is that? If any of Elder Daughter's photos come out, I'll ask her to share them. Anne, tired, footsore, and replete with sashimi and tempura and other goodies

My schedule is similarly dominated by trying to find time when it is not sleeting to build three chicken coops before next Friday. Julia, although right now I'm fighting low BG and lack of food I want to eat which is actually in the house.

Julia, amazed I can type correctly when I am so very very undone at the moment.

According to their "about" page, the bookstore started in a downtown LA loft in 2005 and has been in the current location since June 2011, so it's relatively new. On the other hand, I'm afraid most of the older bookstores in the LA area have gone the way of the dodo. Alas, alas, Acres of Books is no more...
