Sorry I missed the PR chat. Just watched it this morning so I'm caught up! I am so sick of Elena. Her drama is so...dramatic. Annoying!!! I will miss Alicia. I like her quiet style. I'm not sure she was really cut out to be a contestant on the show though. Spring, I am laughing at your comments about the 16 year old's PP. PowerPoint is just an invitation for bad design! Have you heard of Prezi? It's a different way of giving presentations that is very cool, but it has options for the slide to make sudden flips and zoom and turns that can make the viewer nauseous. Oy. I have never heard of Prezi. Well, the 16 yr old - whom I will call Nicole - finished her powerpoint. It has 9 slides, with 7 different backgrounds. She added a "bounce in," and some other animated entries. She found some clipart for several of the slides, and added AUDIO to each slide! Everything from music to bubbling to monkey chatter to a baby crying. The last slide has thunderous applause. She had me laughing. She kept asking me for my opinion on the audio clips, and I kept saying "I don't think you should have them at all . . ." She gave me several big, dramatic sighs, gave up on me ever understanding how to make an interesting presentation, and kept on plugging away. I have to hand it to her, she has quite a show there. Tell her I think it sounds AWESOME, but, sadly, a presentation few other people will appreciate.

Went to visit Jacob and Jesse and Val after work on Friday. On the way back and I stopped by the house where thy used to live and hung out for a few hours hoping to see Yuri, but he didn't show. Of course, it was pouring rain, so that didn't help.

Icky tummy today. Still managed a pickup of some of the housemess. There is unlikely to be much of anything accomplished today.

Another absolutely stellar Leverage. They are really rolling this season. Parker sure has grown over the seasons - she has empathy for others now, and she's making friends, not as part of a con, but as herself. I hope Amy gets to stick around, and I love what Parker and the pub staff did for the doctor at the end.
Also, wibbly-wobbly, heh.

The content is fine, and I don't know what to expect from the teacher on how she will react to the imaginative part. It is definitely way, way, way overdone, but then again, she has demonstrated some proficiency in ppt, and a lot of imagination.

Me too. Workout #3 had some odd side effects. One was appetite. Bob took me to Panera. I ordered a sandwich and a salad. I'm not that much of a salad eater BUT I could not stop eating the salad. When it was gone I ate the greens off my sandwich. Then I ate the greens off HIS sandwich. Then I scraped the bottom of the salad bowls--his and mine--with a piece of bread.
I still have half a sandwich. but what does a craving for greens after a workout mean?

I still have half a sandwich. but what does a craving for greens after a workout mean? I have a thought about that. I think that the human body is a wonderful machine, in many ways, and when we listen to it, it is pretty excellent at sending us messages. I can't remember where I read it first, but there's this idea of foods as either "hummers" (insert joke here) or "beckoners." If I remember correctly, "beckoners" are foods we see and then want, and "hummers" are foods we want without seeing them first. So, if I have a craving for, say, bananas, out of the blue, I assume it's my body's way of telling me I need potassium. I'd bet that there was something in the greens that you sweated out during your workout (eg, one of the water-soluble vitamins) that your stomach was saying: "Hey, give me some more of that!"

Long, long, long damned week already. Julia, also it was supposed to rain, and it didn't rain, so the dust is getting worse.

Is anybody watching "Wagner's Dream"? I'm an opera lover from way back and PBS is running the entire Ring cycle this week. Just hearing those themes is enough to send chills down my spine.
