I just called Aged Mum to see if her package from Amazon got delivered, since the tracking info says it was. Yes, she got her S4 Castle DVDs this afternoon. ;D
Heh, I bet I know what she and her caregivers will be doing this weekend, and next week. Well, it'll make a change from AM trying to explain General Hospital and Doc Martin to me, anyway.
One of the things Husband and I do for Aged Mum is keep her in books and DVDs, since she's pretty much (self-)housebound. So Castle was an early birthday present.

Lola, I just want you to know that even when I don't get a chance to check in when the show is on, I LOVE that you pop in and post your PR thoughts! Thanks for doing them. Your critiques are often better than the judges, IMO. I mean, once again Michael Kors had to comment on the crotch in a pair of pants. I mean, for a gay man, he seems strangely fixated on that particular part of a woman. And combine that with Tim Gunn's hilarious comments about Ven's maxi-pad dress, it became the theme of the episode. ;D So... I am moving to Ohio. I am nervous and excited and I will miss Colorado a great deal...but I think my new job will be a good opportunity for me. Anyway, I am playing around with the idea of not getting cable. Just internet and perhaps Netflix. I watch WAY too much HGTV, and I'm afraid I'll miss it terribly. But I am just not sure if that warrants paying the high cost for cable. And I really don't NEED cable. I can watch movies and catch up on TV series via Netflix, and HEY! Maybe even read a book! Well, congrats! Where in Ohio? I will be in Columbus. Most convenient for me to stalk visit Spring!

Hey, ho!
I need to do something fun before I snap and kill someone.
No, well, not quite that bad, but once again my dear husband came to bed at 5:30am and woke me up, after I'd been awakened at 3am by leg cramps, and I finally went back to sleep some time before 7am and got up when my alarm went off at 8am so I am CRANKY and the best I can say about today is that I may finish all my chores in time to get to the Farmer's Market before it closes at 3pm.
I was supposed to go to Portland next week and go to the Art Museum, but that's been scrapped for reasons of being too much hassle all around.
Julia, v. pissy, so what else is new?

There is not much that rejuvenates like a good night's sleep. And, conversely, not much that throws the world out of kilter so easily and completely as a poor one. [Methinks the Middle East needs to take an Ambien?]

There is not much that rejuvenates like a good night's sleep. And, conversely, not much that throws the world out of kilter so easily and completely as a poor one. [Methinks the Middle East needs to take an Ambien?] Living with someone who was not the sharpest knife in the drawer on mere housekeeping issues to begin with, who is now living from one opiod pain killer to the next and walks around in a fog all the time is not doing much for my sense of humor, either. (He decided to hose the dogs off last night, and carefully dried them and put the towel in the washing machine and then failed to wash it so when it came time to put the sheets in there was a smelly, hairy, stinking towel there first. That we wash sheets on Sunday so the bed can be made when he hasn't worked all day is the result of a whole other series of unsatisfactory compromises). It's been... three years? About? that everything I do is contingent on my husband's pain (and my own; my bad ankle is making my life extra twisty at the moment) and anything that gets done on a weekend is a result of levels of patience and persistence which do not come naturally to me by any stretch of the imagination. I need a chiropractic adjustment of my upper back to correct compromise to the ulnar nerve and lower trapezius muscle which screw up my ability to use my hands; Franklin needs at least one massage a month to be able to stand up. Thwere's money for onw: guess who wins? Julia, sorry for being comprehensively pissed off instead of tersly negative.

Birthday party for step-grandchild. She's 8. Had an oddly good time. I like Bob's kids.

Have cold, but not too bad. Craziness going on with the girls that someday I will be able to share - by the end of this calendar year, I hope and pray! Right now, I think I need to even keep it off the Admin thread, as it still does amount to "posting it on the Internet." I wish I could show you pics from our Outerbanks vacation. They are gorgeous girls, and were having so much fun.

My Social Security application has been approved. Benefits begin next month. I love that I got them with so little fuss, considering that I had a career based on people who wanted them but didn't qualify.
RELIEF! So The Bobman andI celebrated over sushi and ice cream and cappacino.
I'm happy but I'm also feeling so terribly, terribly old.

Being a total lily-livered coward, I did not watch the last episode of H5) until it was rerun last night; am v. glad I do not have to go all summer with that cliff-hanger hanging.
So, next Monday we will know, and the deus will ex its machina, I suppose.
Julia, so far I am not drawn to any new series, which is sad-making
