Sorry I missed PR again tonight. Stuff is crazy with the girls. Karen, good luck with the date! Thank you, babe! I remember the crazy school days with kids. Fun, isn't it?

Judging! Melissa - Park Avenue Uptown, fits well, like the print, Heidi would have liked more edgyness, chic smart and a little sexy, appeals to many, tried something different, smart design. Ven - Hawaiian airline hostess, rose (which we've seen before) and hibiscus don't go together, he's a fabric florist, didn't incorporate the print into the design, disconnect among all the elements, confusing. Dmitry - Did what they were looking for, has design-concept-execution-wearability, stepped out of his comfort zone, jacket is show-stopper, but the jacket covers the print, designed well (perhaps over-designed), back is stunning, like the pieces are floating, smart and thoughful, jacket is phenomenal - and because of the print. Gunnar - Not cool or edgy or modern, print is not compelling, suburban twirler, print is sadness, doesn't read as a garment, is it old or young, non-fashion, print is chaotic, boxy, reads junior-crafty. Sonjia - Succeeded in making a large print work for pants, fit is perfect, top is beautiful, chic, young, very good, fantastic attention to detail. Christopher - OK, very simple dress, fine but fine won't win, can't see the print, silhouette is expected/prom-y, disappointing execution from him, covering it with the organza is messy, expected more from him. Oooh, and a visit from Tim! Coolio! Winner and auf-er? Dmitry wins! Nice! Well, I would have been happy with any of the top 3 winning, but it's nice to see Dmitry finally get one. And Gunnar is tossed. Ah, well, someone had to go and I would have been cool with either of them going.

Missed PR and most of this week's TV. Bob and I are hanging out with the gods. We're halfway through Wager's Ring Cycle. I've never seen all four operas together; heck, I've never seen the last one at all!
We'll catch up with y'all on regular viewing after we wade our way through Siegfried (recorded last night while we watched Die Walkure) and Gotterdamerung.
Twelve hours of opera. After tonight it's going to feel like we'r running a marathon.

I've posted a little slice-o-life that's not my life on the admin thread (snerkworthy, 100% factual, file under "why teachers deserve combat pay").

Back from the port installation.
Highly nice floaty drugs during the procedure. sadly, worn off now.
Neck is sore I think due to having my head turned to one side and stretched a bit for an hour. But that's probably the worst of it.
Have to be cautious with lifting, strenuous exercise and water until the duraplast falls off in a few weeks. By then the skin has grown over the incision and we are good to go.

Ta, ever so. And you're a golfing goddess, that's what's up with that! ;D I don't know! I got the prize for the longest drive (women's) and our team came in first. Ha! Probably because half the field quit when it started raining after about 12 holes. Blech What can I say?!! Soon I will be too old for such nonsense! I have my first date A-Nick this Saturday, too. Gave my email address to a guy at a craft beer bar we were at waiting to see Lindsey Buckingham. Met him about 5 min before we were heading out next door to the concert at an old restored theater. We had such a fun time chatting for 5 min that I just had to take a chance. Again - too old to let chances slip away. Figured I'd never see him again. So, he emailed me and said if I was ever up his way again to let him know, and then a week later said he had business down my way and could we meet for a drink. Seriously, tho. Seems weird 'dating' at nearly 60. How was your b-day? What a cool story!! You are my hero! I need someone to look up to as a mentor in the dating department.

Lola, I just want you to know that even when I don't get a chance to check in when the show is on, I LOVE that you pop in and post your PR thoughts! Thanks for doing them. Your critiques are often better than the judges, IMO. I mean, once again Michael Kors had to comment on the crotch in a pair of pants. I mean, for a gay man, he seems strangely fixated on that particular part of a woman. And combine that with Tim Gunn's hilarious comments about Ven's maxi-pad dress, it became the theme of the episode. ;D So... I am moving to Ohio. I am nervous and excited and I will miss Colorado a great deal...but I think my new job will be a good opportunity for me. Anyway, I am playing around with the idea of not getting cable. Just internet and perhaps Netflix. I watch WAY too much HGTV, and I'm afraid I'll miss it terribly. But I am just not sure if that warrants paying the high cost for cable. And I really don't NEED cable. I can watch movies and catch up on TV series via Netflix, and HEY! Maybe even read a book!

The weather report, currently:
Patio, 101.1°, 16% rh
Back yard, 105°
Wunderground says it's 107° at the Fullerton weather station a few miles east and south of us.
Sue, I hope things continue to go well, and I'll keep the good vibes coming for you.

Ian didn't. For now, can you take a pain pill for the discomfort? I'm surprised they didn't send one home with you.

Ian didn't. For now, can you take a pain pill for the discomfort? I'm surprised they didn't send one home with you. Tylenol is handling it (I've had multiple chest tubes and MRSA -- this is really nothing) However: my pulmonologist called my cell phone (I have the BEST doctor!) and didn't like the way I sounded, especially after being on Bactrim and having congestion for more than 3 weeks. She paged the chemo doc and they've decided to put me on prednisone and delay the chemo a week --- except a one week delay would make both Thanksgiving and Christmas be treatment weeks and 2 weeks would interfere with our trip to the D. R. which is already paid for, so treatment will start Oct. 8, in 3 weeks. By which time this other issue should certainly be resolved or I've got other issues. It's nice to have options and doctors who are flexible and involved.
