All, I put a post in the Admin thread, sharing an audio file of a friend of mine singing a ballad I thought you might appreciate: Ballad postAlso, even if you don't want to listen to that rather long ballad, you must scroll up two posts to see Julia's brief post about a story from someone she knows. It's quite an . . . eyeopener? That's a good way to put it. I should have set the scene; the young man who tells the story is one of those archtypical serious musicians: his cello looks more like a viola in his hands. He is of the jokey side of the family, and controlls his classes with comedy. Julia, he's one of those musicians who makes music in four or five organizations outside his day job, too.

Just a reminder:
Don't forget that Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog will be debuting on the CW on October 9!! I think we can thank The Avengers for that; that's how the CW is promoting it: "From the director of The Avengers" etc etc.

So, good news in Angelville, I went to the doc's today, and as part of my work up they pit me on a scale. I don't understand why they need to but that's a discussion for another day. Anywho, I found out that even though going to the gym has been a hit or miss kind of thing and even though I haven't been in a month, I have lost 15 lbs since January. So, Yay me!

I wouldn't mind finding out something similar next spring from my gym visits. I've been creative today. I now have a hoopskirt bag. From some pieces of cotton duck and a strip of velcro I fashioned a bag to carry my multiple hoopskirts and bustles. It even has handles. So yay me too.

Oh, very nice! We were into fancy food garnishing, years ago - my specialty was a watermelon Viking boat, complete with dragon prow. Although Stonehenge in zucchini bread was also a big hit, one year, and there was a castle made from cookies, I think.

Tonight's challenge ... design a baby outfit for Heidi's line. Whoa! Are these guys gonna even know how to start on a baby outfit?!
Ok. I think we should totally do a Buffy-as-a-baby thing. Ooooh!! Or how about Dru as a baby? That could produce some totally awesome cool ideas. Or we could do a mash-up of Buffy and Dru and have it be a really twisted theme, sort of a "women that Spike has loved, only when they were babies". That would be totally sick!
So, we'd need a combo of California chic and Victorian lace.

Giving them animatronic babies that they need to take care of? That is one hysterically funny and twistedly evil challenge.
