Okay while I'm depressed about alot of the spoilage - i.e. VD - still I am excited about the premier. Plus - the new spoilage coming out today makes me very hopeful about eventual LoVe.
New facts re the premier:
Logan and Veronica do get back togeter - he is at the door and she stands by him when he is first arrested for Felix's murder.
They break up when someone takes a shot at them when they are making out and Logan retaliates by setting something on fire. (I'm a little unclear about all this)
They break up because of this - Logan tells Veronica he loves her - she doesn't say it back.
He starts throwing things when she breaks up with him and that's when Keith shows up and tells him to leave.
Veronica gets together with Duncan before school starts and Logan then has a fling with Kendall.
Well - this makes sense for the breakup especially since the first episode is called "Normal is the Watchword". If Veronica wants normal - it won't be with Logan.
So - I'm going to comfort myself with Logan at the door and I love you and try to get through all the upcoming VD heading my way.
Loved, loved, loved Veronica's Al Pacino impersonation in the preview trailor.
I'm hoping Veronica is jealous of Kendall and I hope there are lots of longing looks and snark aflying if I have to have VD for six - count them - six episodes.
Alright Rob - I'm ready. If the theme this year is nothing is what it seems - I'm hoping some of the spec I've read is true. And I know you have a terrific writing staff and I'm going to trust that no matter how gagworthy some of the upcmoing scenes are:
SCONES, SCONES, SCONES. I CAN NEVER LOOK AT A SCONE AGAIN.
SINGING -AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Okay - sorry, that just escaped. Ahem. No matter how gagworthy some of the upcoming scenes are - they are just sides and acting and direction can make all the difference.
And the handful of Veronica/Duncan fans out there will be happy.

Ok - I just don't know what to feel about the spoilers yet. I'm thinking I'm going to have to watch them play out because there's just SO MUCH info there and that's not even touching on the first MoTW.
I think part of my problem is still that I need to see WHY V is willing to take Duncan back. It does annoy me that it seems like we got cheated out of seeing Logan/Veronica together because it happened during the summer. Of course, I think it gives Rob some fodder for flashbacks. I mean, he doesn't have any Lilly flashbacks anymore so this way he can always write in flashback scenes with V/L during the summer. If this is the case, it means we will probably get teased with L/V throughout the beginning of the season to help build up the triangle.
Anyway. I also don't know what I feel about Logan/Kendall. It seems a lil... I am sure that Charisma and Jason will have chemistry and I'll be all for that 'ship but then I'm also don't know how I feel about having Logan lusting after Dick's stepmom. I do wonder if this fulfills what the network's desire for Veronica to be dating a college guy? Hmmm? (I know it's not Veronica but the concept is still there.)
I still have a feeling Keith will be asked by Dick, Sr. to investigate his new trophy wife and that's how Veronica will discover Logan being with Kendall. Can you imagine? Ooh. I really hope that happens because I'll love her reaction to it.
I won't even discuss the scones thing. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised and actually like Duncan and Veronica together? Well, I mean, stranger things HAVE happened.

Well, I mean, stranger things HAVE happened. Hee, hee - well maybe. I can't even think about it without gagging. I get that Veronica wants Normal, Logan does not equal normal - thus she is shlepping about with the Donut. (sorry Duncan fans - this is not meant to be offensive to Duncan, I just don't like his character. TD seems very nice and hopefully, his acting will be stronger this year now that he isn't all medicated) But, but, but - and I know we've already discussed this - how can Veronica want to be with someone who slept with her when he thought she was his sister (no matter what the ultimate truth was - ewwwwwwwww) and then left her ALONE the next day. I just don't get that. No matter how much the remembrance of young love glows in her mind, why is she okay with this? Anyway - re Logan and Kendall. I like CC (except for her brief bit of Saint Cordelia and the eyegouging ConCord frolic) - and I know she can bring the sex and the snark with the best of them. I get that Logan is probably hurt and just enjoying the ride. I don't think I'm going to like it very much but I'm comforting myself with hopes of semi-clad Logan. Sides, scripts - never very interesting to me. Scripts come alive when you add the direction, acting and emphasis. I'm going to stow my doom and gloom on the 28th and approach the premier with high hopes. At least we (that is Logan/Veronica shippers) got Logan at the door and I love you. Anyway - thanks Rae for sharing the angst. ;D I'm so bored at work today. I'm waiting for a narrative to come to finish a demand so I'm back on outlining med recs which are always exercises in boredom.

Closing my eyes to all other spoilers, but I just saw a clip of Logan at the door! I couldn't resist clicking on it. But no other spoilers for me! I'm going to be strong. I am! This is so hard! Especially as I'll have to wait for downloads to become available before I can watch it. *sigh* The clip can be found on the live journal community Veronica_Mars.

this paragraph from the kristen bell article, contains mild spoilers about tonigt's episode. for the rest of the article, see the Essays thread on the main VM board (at scubiefan.proboards48.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=mars&thread=1111442153&page=5 ). "As a further sign of corporate support, Julie Chen, the "Early Show" host who is married to Leslie Moonves, the top executive at both CBS and UPN, appears in tonight's season premiere as herself. Ms. Chen interviews Keith Mars, who is promoting a book he wrote about Lilly's murder, which he and Veronica solved in the first season's finale."

i also haven't seen this posted here, though you've probably all already seen it by now Joss Whedon Meets 'Veronica Mars'(Friday, September 16 02:34 PM) LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) "Buffy" fans, consider the torch passed. Joss Whedon, the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" creator who gushed online about UPN's "Veronica Mars" this summer, has been rewarded with a guest spot on the show. The network says he'll play a rental-car manager who has a scene with Veronica (Kristen Bell) in this season's sixth episode. The cameo came about after Whedon effusively praised "Veronica Mars" on the Buffyverse-centric web site Whedonesque.com. Posting to the site's (which is independently run) boards last month, Whedon wrote: "My peeps and I just finished a crazed Veronica Marsathon, and I can no longer restrain myself. Best. Show. Ever. Seriously, I've never gotten more wrapped up in a show I wasn't making, and maybe even more than those. Crazy crisp dialogue. Incredibly tight plotting. Big emotion, I mean BIG, and charismatic actors and I was just DYING from the mystery and the relationships and PAIN" (caps all his). "... These guys know what they're doing on a level that intimidates me. It's the Harry Potter of shows." "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas, whose show has often been compared to "Buffy," returned the praise on his own site, and also dropped the news that Whedon would make a guest appearance, which UPN has confirmed. The "Serenity" writer-director has popped up before on his shows "Angel" and "Firefly," but he's never appeared on someone else's. Whedon is the second cult auteur booked for a guest spot on "Mars" this season. "Clerks" and "Chasing Amy" director Kevin Smith, a friend of "Mars" producer Dan Etheridge, will play a convenience-store clerk in the show's second episode. "Veronica Mars" begins its second season on UPN Wednesday, Sept. 28. tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,271|97564|1|,00.html

It's going to be old home month on "Veronica Mars" with the return of Abel Koontz, Alyson Hannigan as Logan's half-sister and Harry Hamlin as Logan's father.
Yeah, whoo hoo.

From today's Chicago Tribune (full text on the spoiler thread; there are some spoilers in this one):
A chat with Jason Dohring of "Veronica Mars" by Maureen Ryan
Here's the full transcript of my interview with Jason Dohring, which was conducted Oct. 25, 2005.
So describe Logan for me, because I find him hard to sum up.
"He’s the son of a movie star; he kind of has that mentality. He grew up with that. He started off determined to make Veronica’s life a living hell, but that developed into this funny chemistry, then love and romance. Now there’s this triangle with Duncan and Logan and Veronica. So many things have happened along the way to give the audience insight into how he got to be the way he is and why he acts the way he does, how he got the motivation to act like such a complicated human being.
"When we did the original auditions, they gave me a couple of [Logan-acts-like-a-jerk] scenes, then I also got a scene where he’s burned by a cigarette lighter by his dad. It was intense and emotional. Rob wanted to see not just me playing the [jerk] but also if I could play the softer side. It gave me a chance to do both. It didn’t come out until a little bit later in the show, but [eventually] you got to see why he could be such a [jerk] and also how he’s just in this terrible situation."
Logan always seems to have a knee-jerk reaction to whatever happens, like he can’t contain himself or take a minute to figure out the rational response.
"Absolutely, and that’s the cause of many terrible situations for him. But I like that impulsiveness, I like that trait in him. It can lead to a lot of other stories for him."
Did you know, last season, that Logan and Veronica were going to get together?
"I’m actually glad, Rob told us about episode six or seven that we would get together. We were like, ‘No way!’ But there was something going on there. We could feel it as actors. It was damn cool -- these characters had some kind of connection. So we had to start to soften it up a little bit and break the ice somewhat [between the characters]. I’m glad he gave us that heads up."
That kiss near the end of last season -- the spark was amazing.
"It was so funny, as an actor, to kiss this girl. I was all nervous beforehand. But you have to just let it go for the scene. It was so fun to watch [later when it aired].
"Sometimes I’m working late, and I have to catch [the show] later, but [he watches the show every week when it airs]. Kristin is just so amazing;, in the last episode that aired [he was referring to the Oct. 19 episode, ‘Green-Eyed Monster.’], she’s just so free. She’s so smart. And I laugh out loud when I watch it. It’s great to watch with other people. I rarely get the chance but it’s great to hear everyone bust out laughing.
"We’re going to be going down to Texas, a few of us. They’re going to show this marathon of episodes, fans are going to rent it and we’re going to all watch it live with this audience in this great theater in Texas. It’s where Tarantino has his film festival and stuff like that. It’s down where Rico’s [Enrico Colantino] from. It’ll be terrific."
So, it must have been a drag to find out that Logan and Veronica are not together this year.
"I had no idea what was coming. I didn’t know who was at the door [in the first-season finale]. Nobody really knew who was at the door until we got the first script [for the second season], then it was so clever. She’s with Logan, but then she’s not with him. It goes beyond who’s at the door. It gives Veronica and Duncan a chance to be together; it sets up some good tension for my guy."
Logan gets a lot of great lines, a lot of the zingers.
"I love that. It is so fun. There were some racial jokes [last season]; I know we’ve had to ease off on that a little bit. I think we got involved in a little trouble over that. It wasn’t too big a deal."
Was it cool to get that endorsement from "Buffy," "Angel" and "Firefly" creator Joss Whedon?
"Absolutely, it was the best. It was the buzz of the set: `Did you hear what he said about us?,’ Stuff like that. [Director] Kevin Smith also did a nice write-up, and what was cool was that they really know their stuff;, their attention to detail [regarding `Veronica Mars’] was so cool. You never know if your work will be seen, so to have it seen by someone great, someone you really respect, that’s so cool. Though if I’d known they were watching, I would have been a lot more nervous!"
Why do you think fans are so into the show?
"It inspires passion. It’s dark. It’s got these intense relationships; you can really emotionally root for certain characters. You just want to hold Veronica. The damage that’s been done to her just tugs at your heartstrings. When she pleaded with her dad to find her mom -- that just makes you feel so much for her. You want to see her win. There’s the relationship between her and her dad. Just the core things, the emotional aspect of it, is what holds people. There are the story lines too; they’re interesting, but it’s people going through life. The closer we get to real life [the more effective it is]. Everyone has those emotions, so we all respond to that."
Can you tell me anything about what’s coming up or will Rob Thomas break your leg?
"[laughs] We get certain things, certain giveaways, `You can say this, not that.’ So I can say that Logan’s dad is coming back in one episode. That’s a cool, intense show."
The relationship between Logan and Veronica is obviously very different this season.
"If you’ve been together with someone, you can’t go back to where you were before. If she had to help me again, how can I ask her for something? It sets up this weird situation, really different from the first season. He cried in front of her, he’s been open in front of her, she knows things. You can’t go back from that.
"[In Logan’s mind] she maybe could have told somebody [his private business]. It’s really bad for him; he thinks he can trust her, then it’s over. Deep down, he has integrity -- he does, in a way. They respect each others’ integrity, but it’s more than integrity; it’s principles, beliefs."
What’s it like working with [star] Kristin Bell?
"I love to act with her. There’s still that tension [between the characters]. I don’t know what they’re going to do with Logan; part of him still loves her. I don’t think the thing with Kendall is for emotional support [laughs]. But any love is better than no love. The thing is, who do you trust, when you have all that money? What do you do? That’s Neptune."
So Alyson Hannigan has been back as your sister Trina Echolls, right?
"Yeah, we were all so happy this morning when we shot that scene -- it was great. Alyson is back; Charisma [Carpenter] was here as well. We had a scene with us [Trina, Logan and Veronica] and Teddy [who plays Duncan Kane]. It was great: My older sister is there, and I’m having this affair with Kendall; it makes for some intense tension. But it was great, so funny. We all had a great time; it was cool to see that they [Charisma and Alyson] still had that flow, that connection. They have an energy together. They have that history."
"There’s a huge twist for Trina in this [Nov. 23] episode -- it’s amazing. It’s not just a normal twist. It’s written so well, but I can’t explain it. You gotta and wait and watch it. It’s a great story line. They shot most of Alyson’s stuff today and yesterday. I really look forward to seeing [the episode].
"We all really like this girl [Alyson]. We get together and just tease each other, she sucker-punches me. There’s just a total, I don’t know, we really have a sister-brother thing going on. I’ve never had that kind of connection with an actress before. It totally works.
"She loves doing the show, but then she hates it because she finds out all these things that are in upcoming episodes. We get to explain it to her: `This is what happens, then that.’ She’s like, `No way!’ But then she also loves to watch it and find out things [like everyone else]."
I think the show’s been even better this year than last.
"It’s going to get even better. A lot of seeds have been planted."

Paraphrasing a recent tvguide article from an LJ entry by doorsnscores3 that was linked to by sunworshipper in TWOP media thread:
If things are heating up in Neptune, the fictional seaside town of UPN's Veronica Mars, blame Jason Dohring and Charisma Carpenter. Dohring's Logan Echolls has been hooking up with Kendall, his best friend's sexy stepmom (played by Buffy and Angel alum Carpenter), ever since Veronica (Kristen Bell) gave him the boot. And in the November 16 episode, their on-screen affairtakes an even naughtier twist.
While Dohring and Carpenter crackle with chemistry, fans- we should say Logan and Veronica fans- are hardly thrilled. "After Veronica, Logan may be the most adored character on the show," says creator Rob Thomas. "But we're having fun with those two broken up."
What do you think the attraction is between your characters?
Jason: There's a little bit of that Mrs. robinson thing. For a kid in highschool to be in a relationshipwith an older woman, a hot girl like that? Damn, man.
Charisma: I think when you have somebody like Logan puppy-doggin' after you and giving you all that attention, it just feels good. And since i'm married to an older man (on the show), I suspect the sex is a little longer and better with Logan.
Have you guys gotten comfortable shooting all those love scenes?
Jason: Everytime we're with each other, we have our clothes off! The first time kind of breaks the ice. Now we just fire back and forth with the banter. She plays a great bitch, and I play a great man-bitch, so it's cool.
Charisma: We have a running joke. Every time we get into bed with each other, Jason and I ask how our (real-life) spouces are doing.
Jason: Charisma's like, "How's your wife?" I'm like, "She's fine. How's your husband?"
Some fans really don't like Kendall and Logan together. How does that feel?
Charisma: I always get that. (on Angel, Cordelia)was Angel's second love and the fans wouldn't have it. They were like, "There's only one love, and it's Buffy!" And that's exactly how it is again. "There's only love for Logan! It's Veronica." So I'm used to it.
Jason: With Logan and Kendall, it's just physical. I think Veronica's the only one that can fill the hole in Logan's life.
Kendall's wardrobe is either skimpy or, uh, skimpy. Charisma, have you been working out more?
Charisma: Yes! Are you kidding me? Somebody told me, "You're gonna be in a bikini a lot." When I heard that I started doing double workouts.
Your former boss, Joss Whedon, is a huge Veronica Mars fan and even appeared in a cameo in the November 9 episode. How does that feel?
Charisma: It feels awesome. I have a tremendous respect for Joss. So when I see him giving Veronica Mars the stamp of approval, it makes me even more excited to be a part of it. It makes me feel like I made a very good choice and that my instincts were right.
What can you tell us about the upcoming death of a major character on the show?
Charisma: Its got to be Duncan (Teddy Dunn). He's just too nice! (Pause) No, he's too valuable.
Jason: Anybody, save Veronica, could be gone. It's destabilizing when all of a sudden you get the news that someone is going to die and you're like, "That's gonna happen? Whoa."
Hmmm. Give us some more scoop. What's going to happen between your characters?
Charisma: My husband left me high and dry, so (the November 16 episode) is about me trying to figure out how I'm supposed to survive.
Jason: Kendall tries to get me to be her sugar daddy and i'm like, "No way, baby, no way." The stuff I say is ridiculous. It's so funny.
Charisma: You'll see just how low i'm willing to go. It's totally salacious, bitchy fun. The claws really come out. Look out!

Michael Muhney has just posted over at Rack of Lamb. He is currently filming episode 11:
Hey everyone! Don't you think for a second that I'm too busy to find a minute (on set) to drop a quick line to my peeps! I'm about to shoot another scene in about 30 minutes or so (oooohhh I wish I could just tell you all about it!!!!!) but I did manage to sneak over to an empty computer in the production office to read what you all have been writing about lately. I'm sorry that I am not around too much, it's just so hard to get in front of a computer when I'm as busy as I am. I'm afraid my busy-ness won't let up until mid-december.
I hope you guys have fun watching episode seven tonight (NPBiaC). I can't wait to see how it turns out! Maybe I'll be off work by then and can watch the ep in my hotel room while I'm memorizing lines for the next morning's work. I'm gonna try and find time tomorrow to sneak over to a computer on set and see what people had to say about the show on TWoP. I'm excited about what might (or might not) be said there. I'm veeeeeery curious.
I hate to say, but Lamb won't be around in eps 8 or 9, so after tonight Lamb will be in hiding. I doubt I'll be missed (because the episodes are so fantastic!), but again, I'll be curious to read what's posted on TWoP after those eps too.
You all continually floor me with your support and comments. I really do owe you all so much, and "thanks" is just a start.
I love VMARS FANS!!!!!!! (okay, I really really love Lamb fans...and haters alike!)

From TV Guide:
Question: Any word on why Teddy Dunn left Veronica Mars? Did he want to leave or did they write him out of the show? Is this the last we've seen of Duncan? — Mandy
Ausiello: In an interview I cribbed from my colleague, Ileane Rudolph, Rob Thomas said the Logan-Veronica-Duncan triangle had simply run its course. "Shows can start to become stale if they milk the same story line forever," he explained. "She's a high-school senior and I don’t expect her to get married next season. So, I think in an attempt to keep the show fresh, there is going to need to be other guys in her life." One glimmer of hope for Duncan fans: Teddy Dunn still has one episode left on his Season 2 contract; he signed on for 12 but only appeared in 11.
A HA!
