Besty already recommended one of my favorite Spike/Xander stories, Repossession. Here is another: www.drizzle.com/~eliade/ (the link won't take you directly to the story. You have to click on "Buffy" that will take you to Season Noir, then go to Slash Stories and it should be there) Subtleties is a story that was started in the author's LiveJournal, so the beginning is a little odd. Stick with it, you'll like it. My name is Caraleigh, and I'm a Spander whore ;D

Nan recommended this on the on the regular fanfiction page, but I thought I would put it over here also. www.allaboutspike.com/fic.html?id=665This a dark, future fic where demons rule and people are slaves. Spike meets a different Xander.

This is a wonderful site, full of Angel/Spike stories. There are also some pairings with Wesley and Giles too. But Angel & Spike take center stage on this site.
Here are some stories I highly recommend (you also have to take a gander at her manipulated pics -- they are just wonderful and eye-popping ;D)
Time is the Fire in Which We Burn (Season 1) Spike gets his soul back, but he can't find the forgiveness he craves. Having a soul now makes him have to concentrate to be evil. Abandoned by the Sunnydale humans, he has to find a new way give his demonic energy some outlet.

The Darkling Plain (Season 2) (WIP) Episode 1 -- A new start; it's what they all need. But a new agency and new apartment only bring new problems for the vampires who try so hard to live in a human world.
This story is the sequel of Time is the Fire in Which We Burn, and it's strongly recommended that you read that story before this one.

Betsy, following up on your recommendation, I've now read all of Time Is the Fire in which We Burn and as much as is complete of The Darkling Plain. The sex does get rather repetitious and there's a LOT of it...but the characterizations and the situations are very compelling. As usual with slash stories I enjoy, I did so despite the sex rather than because of it; nevertheless, this is a very interesting series and I've put it on my update list to continue following it. Thanks therefore for your calling it to my attention.

Can't remember if it comes before or after Time is the Fire in Which We Burn. I agree, there's LOTS of sex - and messy, ooky, sex, too (for me). But the characterizations, the dialogue, the plot, is just soo good, that I skip the sex parts (I really did just type that, didn't I?), and shoot (there I go again) for the main story line. And --- I found these at Impish Eyes.

But I enjoy both. I just received an email from the author of this series, that Episode 3 of the Darkling Plain is up -- it's 5 chapters.

Thanks, Betsy L. I'm running to read.... I won't give away the chapter, but it made me happy ;D I just love this series and can't wait for more. of it. I also like that she posts an episode at a time so it feels more complete while I'm waiting for the next set. I'm definitely saving this one. I have a few more recs that I'll add at lunch today. Some have plot and some don't, but I like them all.

"Alive and Kicking" is a surprisingly thoughtful and perceptive Spike/Giles fic in 21 substantial chapters, by the Jenny that writes the Spike/Angel sexathons, some "fluffier" than others. Less sex here, more emotions. The gist is when Spike is ensconced in Giles' bathtub following his chipping, Giles has a visit from an "orgasm friend" (to use Anya's term) and can't dump Spike off on any of the Scoobies. Things do not go well. This is the beginning of a flirtation and then a relationship between Spike and Giles that makes each of them rexamine who they are and what they want. This process continues during Giles taking Spike to Britain both to remove him from the threat that the Initiative poses and to come to new terms with his own family and heritage. Very strong characterization, dialogue, and situations. www.squashduck.com/ltd/spikegilesmain.htm

I've been in correspondence with Josey, and she tells me she's in charge of the "Old Fashioned Fourplay" archive of Fanged Four historical fiction. I haven't read any yet but highly approve her fiction...and she's gonna put "Vampire Sex" there. URL: www.emptymirrors.org.uk

I really want to commend what I've seen so far of Josey's site, Old Fashioned Fourplay. The two stories I've read are literate and well thought out and convincing in concept, characterization, and execution. Since they deal with the Fanged Four there's a certain amount of m/m sex in most but not all of them, so I know this isn't gonna be for all tastes, but I just so enjoy seeing any kind of Buffy fanfic well done, and a whole treasure trove of (to me) unread stories that I'm looking forward to snacking on for a good long time. The URL: mysite.freeserve.com/emptymirrors/off/offindex.htmlSince Josey has joined us, I'm sure that if anybody reads these stories (particularly hers, I'd assume) and has any comments, she'd be glad of the feedback, either here or via PM.

Lovingkindness and What She Deserves are both now at AllAboutSpike. Laura, the webmisteress at AAS, has been collecting the best of the best (I infer) for her site, and some of the older, better tales have been showing up lately.
Those of us who have been moved by these tales might want to go put comments on them to reflect for Herself and future readers how wonderful they are and how beloved they have become.

A Holiday Surprise:
Herself's LJ links to the Secret Slasha stories for 2003, (which I will mention on the slash/fic thread). There are over 25 slash fic, and there are links to the 2001 and 2002 Secret Slasha stories, as well.
Enjoy!
