There's been a lot of discussion of the Xander/Faith stories by NWHepcat, but this is a little Xander and Spike conversation, emphatically NOT Spander, from BtVS s7: www.echonyc.com/~stax/Buffy/nwhepcat/thief.html. Julia, who likes Spike's rememberance of things punk

Another way out of the Alley, with prior preparation and thanks to Indiana Jones: archive.shriftweb.org/archive/27/lastsmore.htmlThe archive itself is somewhat dodgy, but does have a lot of fic. Julia, tell me again why I'm not abed? Turns out that this is the first story in a post NFA multi-author WIP, at: heroes.councilofwatchers.comThe second, "Regroup" is by veggiebelle, and sets up a grand crossover with Angel, Spike, Illyria, Gunn, Buffy, Willow, Dawn and Xander.

I am a sad, sad person and should be asleep, but here's an interesting little snippet by Jennifer-Oksana, whose output is uneven but sometimes much fun: archive.shriftweb.org/archive/23/unreadletter.htmlJulia, also it bugs SU that I'm using this computer

So I'm back sifting through this archive and, well, somebody finally noticed that Giles wasn't doing so well, himself: archive.shriftweb.org/archive/23/losingtouch.html(this has about the same slashy subtext as canon, by the way, or possibly even less) Julia, who should be searching the net for mango chutney recipes

Eyes Only, at London Calling, is really a very nice fic. www.myarseisnotpansy.co.uk/blog/index3.htmlAU BtVS 7/AtS 4, mostly pg 13 with occassional forrays into what they lable NC17 but others would call R. Wesley/Lilah, Giles/Anya, Spike/Buffy but more importantly Wes, Giles and Spike team up to save the world from a pretty convincing set of Big Bads with claws into The Council of Watchers and strong ties to the Senior Partners. WITH one criticism, the substance of which is this question: is no one teaching the difference between objective and subjective pronouns anymore? "Come with Giles and I" and its equivalents seem to rule; I doubt there's a single use of the word "me" in compound subjects in the whole fic. I'm sensitized to that usage because among my and more particularly my parents' generation it's a mark of social class, between those who are from families literate for generations and those who are from unread ancestors (one of my linguistics teachers was actually researching the "between you and I" usage as a class and geographic marker). It's overcompensation for misuse of "me" as an objective pronoun, which is a dialectic marker for both Black English, Appalachian dialect, and Working Class Urban dialects in England and both Rural and Urban Working class dialects in America. How did it infiltrate what is otherwise well-written Standard English usage? Julia, who feels a bit as she does when riding shotgun with Sam, whose driving style has me easing back on the throttle a lot

Have read some of Leslie's other fic and enjoyed it muchly (still hoping she'll go back to Special Purpose Vehicle). Unfortunately, she's blocked anonymous posts, so I can't make any comments (very glad cousinjean hasn't done the same).

Unfortunately, she's blocked anonymous posts, so I can't make any comments (very glad cousinjean hasn't done the same). I agree with you on Special Purpose Vehicle; it's very frustrating that all the writers on London Calling have dormant WIPs which are all as good as most of the stuff on that very good site, linked in a post above. The sorriest thing is that Magpie has stopped writing BtVS/AtS fics, which probably means several multiwriter WIPs are forever unfinished; the hyperslashy and very weird Tea and Biscuits prime among them. Julia, there's a Magpie Spander I particularly wish would be finished

I absolutely love Miss Murchinson's new story, "Two Part Harmony" Part I, which she's posted on her LJ. Part I covers how they first got together and the early days of their relationship leading up to "Harsh Light of Day." Part II is not up yet but will take place during AtS S5. I can hardly wait. I posted a comment in the Comments section following the story so I'll not repeat why I liked it so much here. But if you like these characters, warts and all, then please check out this story: home.mchsi.com/~missmurchison/Two-Part_Harmony_I.htmdeborah

Hoping youall can help me. I'm trying to locate a fic I read about a year or so ago. It's BtVS, season 7, 10-20,000 words in length; pairing is Buffy/Spike, with Spike and Dawn friendship. Spike is back in SunnyD, souled, living with Xander. At the end of the story, Buffy invites him to Thanksgiving Dinner, but Dawn warns him off. Of course, she brings food to Spike, and there is a happy ending. Can't recall the title, the writer, the location. Can anyone help with this?? It's driving me daft! Also, last two entries in my LJ have recs for fic for Angel pairings and Spike pairings. Enjoy! www.livejournal.com/~makdThanks!

I hope no one suspects that my lack of recommendations in the past few days has anything to do with my being upright and virtuous and abjuring fic. archive.shriftweb.org/archive/28/contritespirits.htmlFaith, Xander, saints, gods, and the role of religion in life. Well written, really good Xander and Faith character voices, and another side effect of the great Sunnydale Slayer Mojo. Julia, and no eeewwww moments for grammar and construction at all!

archive.shriftweb.org/archive/20/marsrising.htmlSame author as the last recommendation, more good Xander and an interesting look at Faith as a maturing individual. There are other fics by this author on the Buffy Fiction Archive, but so faronly these two really float my boat. VERY nice control of the language, though, and after the past week that's a GOOD thing. Julia, failing to avoid sounding like The Martha
