Re (Enemy of My Enemy) I loved the B/S chat about the 'haunted' bed, and, especially, the ending of chapter 2. Are they fogetting Dawn? Is that what's happening? I know I read a fic a long time ago, post Gift, that had only Buffy & Spike remembering Dawn, who disappeared from their lives once the confrontation with Glory was over. I don't remember much else about that story, but the idea that Dawn could be taken out of this world in much the manner she was put in is very intriguing. I may have completely misread your intention here, but that's how I interpreted the last few lines, and Spike's earlier forgetting of Dawn's name. Thanks, Mary, for your comments. From the feedback on part 2, it became plain to me I had left the reader in a position where he/she could believe Buffy and Spike had simply left Dawn behind, rather than that she'd vanished. I've revised to make sure no reader can assume anything but vanishment. Thanks for helping point out this crucial unclarity. HOW Dawn has disappeared doesn't come out until the following chapter (3) which I'm 2/3 done with at this point.
Thanks also for your advice on how to send the initial chapters out as a WIP. When I get chapter 3 done, I'll probably send the first two to allaboutspike, inasmuch as Laura said she'd prefer to get them that way for the suspense factor and readers checking back repeatedly for updates. I think 1 and 2 form a unit of sorts and could be read and understood.
I appreciate your comments. But inasmuch as most S'cubies haven't read the chapters, hereafter you might wish to send me your critique by e-mail (unless you wanna talk shop with me, which I ALWAYS like to do, and bore them out of their expletive minds!).

Oh, and on this point - sometimes, I think, it's GOOD for the reader to be left guessing - at least to some extent, which is what will happen because they'll all be wondering HOW Dawn disappeared, why, what it means. It all adds suspense, and gets them anxious for the next part. Mary

The last "official" track on the CD End Game runs for 12:56 minutes, but the song itself ends after about 5:00 minutes. Then there's nothing but silence for a good 7:00 minutes, and suddenly a voice -- I'm pretty sure it's JM -- says:
"A lie is like a cheap bottle of wine from a cheap liquor store. It don't cost much at the time, but it burns as it goes down. And you know you're gonna pay -- later you say, 'Now it's okay.' But as hard as you swallow, you can't shake the taste. The acid, the afterthought churning in your belly. The buzz becomes a fly in your brain, and you feel great the next day then it leaves you with nothing but regret."

Not saying a word. Not a word. Patti, congrats on your new personalized S'cubie ID as a S'cubie Cutie. The new extra special option for Master S'cubies (sort of like personalized plates on your car). Just an added incentive to post enough to become a Master S'cubie. Although S'cubie Cutie is now taken.

It was asked on Part 4 which was locked before I could respond about doing some housekeeping with our membership rolls, since we have many duplicate names on account of S'cubies forgetting passwords and the like. Be aware that removing the duplicate names is something we intend to do, but at the moment it isn't at the top of our list or priorities. A lot is going on at the moment with the shifting from ScoopMe to here, and there are many things brewing that are still in the early stages, so I really can't list them in detail, just know that you'll be surprised and hopefully as excited as we are.
I again want to remind everyone that Vlad does have the ability to reset your password to something different, in the event you should forget it. But before you bother Vlad, do remember that this board is EXTREMELY case sensative regarding login names and passwords. Make a note of not only how you spelled your login and password, but also which letters were capitalized in each case. And ensure you don't have the caps lock on; that's a nasty culprit that has messed me up many, many times, not just here but trying to get into important stuff like Government systems.
Also -- if you do have trouble logging in, please help us out by NOT creating a new account. Guests have the ability to post same as registered folks, which means you can post the "VLAD HELP" post without creating a new account. Yeah, you won't have PM capability, but you won't be able to access PMs from the old account with a new login anyhow. So there really isn't much point to a duplicate account.
Also, Vlad, Rae and I highly encourage the use of the feature that keeps you continuously logged in -- you don't have to worry about forgetting your password if the board is set so you never have to use it. That's how I'm set up and it works like a charm. The only thing the password does is keep the kids from logging in AS YOU, the husband from logging in AS YOU, or your coworkers from logging in AS YOU -- they can still get in as a guest so you aren't keeping them off the boards, a password just keeps them from sending nasty e-mails to me while making me think it's you doing it. Unless for some reason you think you're spouse might want to login as you someday and say really nasty things about Spike so Rae will be forced to ban you from the board, then the automatic login function is absolutely the way to go.

Sounds from your post like our triumvirate (you, Rae & Vlad) is mighty busy planning great things! Can't wait to see it!
It's been a pretty quiet night -- I may make an early night of it -- see you tomorrow!

Used to be . . . . but hey, that's just my opinion ;D Mine's not that great either -- you'd think I thought higher of it, though, as much as I've shown it here on the board.
